Hard Boiled Chuunibyou Wonderland(Interest Check and Sign up Thread)

Chuunibyou. Almost every teenager will have a phase of this at some point in their life, or know someone who has. There will be outlandish claims, and an unreal, highly vivid world created in their minds. However, it's all just make-believe, delusions of grandeur to hide behind.

Or is it? Because there just might be mad scientists with crazy inventions, grizzled fighters and gunslingers with perfect aim, or wizards and sorcerers, witches and warlocks, superheroes and supervillains, all with power like no other, master hackers and criminal geniuses, hard-boiled investigators and great detectives, secret billionaires and shadowy assassins, and so much more, all hiding among us, walking among the halls of our high schools and on our streets. You just have to know what to look out for. A word of warning, though. This secret world is one where the law of the jungle is king, where predators prowl the halls and streets looking for their next prey, and someone is hiding in the shadows, a mastermind like no other waiting for his time, preparing to execute a plan that would upset the order of this world, and his name is Harper Booth. Harper is a cold and ruthless Magnificent Bastard, stopping at nothing to achieve his goals. However, he also faces a strong opponent in the form of Marley Ford, one of the most brilliant leaders, investigators, and strategists we have ever seen. And a billionaire who can handle herself in a fight to boot. Even Bruce Wayne would be envious of her. Welcome to the secret world of Lakeside High. Who will you be and on which side will you fight?

The basic idea is that in a seemingly regular high school, there exists a secret world where what appear to be chuunibyou delusions are all true, so in effect All Myths Are True, but replace "myths" with "chuunibyou delusions". However, there is at least one person who seeks to use this secret world and its inhabitants for his own purposes. Whether you defeat him, upstage him, or work with him is all up to you.

Lakeside High

The setting of the game, and a high school in Chicago. It's located on a suburb at the northernmost part of Chicago, with Lake Michigan forming the eastern boundary of the suburb.

It's a standard high school, like what you would see in High School Musical or some other teen drama in almost all respects except for one. There is an unusually high number of people who appear to have chuunibyou delusions. Look closer, and you will realize that all is not what it seems. This school is really the center of a hidden world where anyone you can imagine can be found

The surrounding suburb is unfortunate enough however to be located within Chicago, a city that is a focal point for paranormal occurences and other weirdness. And lots and lots of crime.

• Name: Matsuki Kyonori / Aydien Richler
• Alias: Wolfhound Wizard, Arclight
• Age: 17
• Gender: Male
• Appearance: A rather muscular young Eurasian boy, tall and well built, he has a somewhat effeminately handsome face and slightly tanned features. He has thick black, wavy hair, bright blue eyes that some say he "got from his father". He has a scar on the palm of his right hand that resembles a burn scar, but which occasionally seems to bleed - which usually hurts enough to stop him from doing whatever it is he's doing. He usually wears black khaki pants, a white polo shirt, and a blue coat.
• Powers:
  • Aeolian Ancestry: Owing to his parentage, he has abilities associated with a peculiar supernatural being - he can grow and retract wings from his back, and has a natural, incredible affinity for magic. His wings do not have feathers per say, but rather are made of incredibly sharp, painful "quills" that only resemble feathers, and which inject a hideous poison into those who touch his wings. This poison causes a spreading sensation of pain and has an odd magical effect to it; the louder the person exposed to it screams, the worse the pain gets and the more debilitating it becomes. He feels a sense of shame over his "ghoulish wings".
  • Magic Types: Owing to the above, he has natural affinity for magic, namely, Wood, Shadows, Water, and...Concrete.
• Equipment: He has a ritual dagger on his person his father designed for him. He would not want to take it around anywhere with him but "the damn thing insists."
• Skills: Capable mage, surprisingly effective street fighter (owing to the lack of parental protection he gets and his reputation), and skilled survivalist.
• Weakness: On a personal level, he is scared almost to death of his father, and anything to do with him will make Matsuki / Aydien fall to pieces emotionally. On a power basis, he's weak to very specific bell noises and specifically blue fire.
• Personality: Matsuki despite the implications of his powers and the reputation heaped upon him is an incredibly nice, self-effacing, charismatic young man with a liking for helping others, leadership, and improving his surroundings. He tries to see the best side of a situation, and enjoys physical activity as a means to get his head out of the situation. He does however have a pronounced tendency to shall we say not exactly observe proper commitment to his girlfriends, his chief personal flaw being a fear of attachment and a preference for more or less moving from relationship to relationship. His parental situation is a dire one, and it is one he mostly refuses to speak of outside of the home. He is known to freeze up and stammer, becoming shy and withdrawn when his father is brought up.
• Alignment: Neutral Good
• Background: Matsuki Kyonori / Aydien Richler is the result of a disaster of a family - his father is involved in almost every single generation of his family, in multiple ways. His mother is on some days it seems a willing accomplice, and on others she just seems to withdraw and escape the world into her tragic fantasies. Growing up, he was given two names, one for his family overseas in Japan, one for the States. His father is a shadow over the family, and woe unto Aydien, it seems he's the offspring his father takes most interest in. Even though he has three brothers and three sisters, his father neglects or manipulates those others while behaving dubiously with Matsuki. The truth is that his father Jourai Kyonori is actually the immortal sorcerous monster Wolfang Richler. Wolfang subjected Matsuki to horrid "training" to give Matsuki his Arclight title and the power over those magical elements, and by now is scheming something else. Matsuki for his part wants nothing to do with it. Maybe by distracting himself with the goings on at the school, he can avoid his family drama...

• Name: Lyle Johansen
• Alias: Rairu Buredo / Buredo no Jajimento / The Undefeated of the Midwest
• Age: 16
• Gender: M
• Appearance: Lyle is a gangly white teenager with a long face and a Roman nose, and straight frizzy blond hair down a little past his jaw. He's fairly tall at 5'11 but his awful posture drops him a good few inches. He wears a lot of baggy clothes with no less than two belts at once, skewing more towards 3-5 most days. Has an array of puncture scars in his stomach from all the times he practiced deflecting bullets with his sword.
• Powers: Lyle does actually have a talent for strenuous breathing and focusing techniques that gather ki into his body to supercharge its natural capabilities. When he takes the time to gather his ki it sits just below the surface of his skin, and can protect him from seriously dangerous injuries like broken bones or serious ruptures, but won't save him from cuts and scrapes and bruises. To gather his ki into something beyond human and start Flash Stepping around and sticking to walls like a ninja, he needs time to power up of course, yelling and focusing for at least a solid 30 seconds, longer to stay powered up longer one for one on time spent powering up.
• Equipment:
  • A collection of shitty sad mall katanas no more expensive than $60, cheap and fragile and nonetheless deadly in his hands.
  • Somewhere in his messy room he has The End Bringer, a katana forged with demonblood and meteoric iron, quenched in the ice of a comet. He was given it by a mysterious wizened Japanese man under the promise he only use it in the direst of circumstances. It is absolutely from a demon in disguise, and the demon is absolutely conning him into using a sword that will make them stronger.
  • Also has a car, a beat-to-hell 2004 Hyundai Elantra, with a shot transmission and a trunk that takes exactly four tries to shut, every time.
• Skills: Lyle is a master of iaijutsu swordfighting, capable of quickdrawing hard enough to slice through a car with ki assistance. Since he has to keep the sword sheathed to make the quickdraws work, he's also fairly proficient at fighting with the sheathed swords too as clubs or guards, then following up with basic body blows and other simple martial arts—like, he knows how to punch and that's about it. Also a damn fine line cook in training at the local Five Guys, where he works part time.
• Weakness:
  • Lyle's katanas have, at best, survived three swings before shattering, and most only get two. He can only carry a half dozen or so before the straps start tangling him up and he's pretty SOL once he runs out.
  • Lyle can take the normal stress of ki empowerment just fine, but if he Powers Up and goes fully superhuman it takes a toll on him once it expires, paralyzing him or straight up knocking him out.
• Personality: The influence of hippies and new-agey ki studies being proven right has had an effect on Lyle. Clearly the supposed "childishness" of middle school was correct, and he's stayed open minded about the supernatural since then. He might not be as theatric as a middle schooler, but he's held onto some of the blitheness and exotifying orientalism common with that time because he was so clearly proven right!
• Alignment: Lawful Neutral
• Background: Lyle grew up in a very active, "crunchy" family, actually growing up in Pawnee and not Chi-town proper. They raised him in an old house and taught him early to find his own truth like they had as neopagans, with plenty of dashes of other faiths, as long as it made him happy and gave him something to do. It turned out Lyle was a fast reader early, and dug into the library's religious texts with fervor. Here he found his talent for east-asian ideas around ki through stuff like tai chi and aikido, and an equal talent with the blade, which he studied also. It was not necessarily good for his expectations about these sorts of beliefs when he cut a compact car in half. He got lucky at least, because his family was about to move towns anyway; dad got a promotion at his essential oils place and they moved to Chicago so he could work at the business's main office. Lyle for his count knew he clearly had some kind of special destiny; he started at least thinking of himself with a japanese name, and strictly speaking The Undefeated of the Midwest was even technically correct for him—not that he needed to also mention he had no wins either. In Chicago his power only grew! He started sword fighting in the rec center to hone his technique beyond sheer force, and this one time he even met this mysterious old man who just gave him a new sword! His parents have stopped buying him more katanas after he broke his third one, but now he supplements it with his work at Five Guys, which he's actually pretty proud of.

• Name: Ying Wu
• Alias: Lone Girl & Strings
• Age: 15
• Gender: Female
• Appearance: Ying Wu is a short, yet graceful and willowy young woman with waist-length black hair tied back with a red ribbon and brown eyes. She wears a white collared shirt, a dark red ankle-length pleated skirt, and simple straw sandals. Her sandals often come into conflict with the school's dress code, yet her family can't afford better footwear at the moment. She thinks being semi-barefoot helps her connect better with spirits.
• Powers:
  • Due to her latent powers stemming from her apparently mystic bloodline, Ying gets "the willies" when in the presence of supernatural beings. The stronger the supernatural being, the stronger the feeling. She can currently only identify ghosts accurately with this sometimes vague power, and cannot identify other kinds of supernatural creatures (even if she can sense them), though this may change.
• Equipment:
  • Her pipa was willed to her by her great-grandfather, who had passed away very recently. It never seems to get out-of-tune and has a great sound. In a letter that was included in the will, Ying's great-grandfather explained to her about how he felt weak lately and how it was up to her to protect herself from the people who would try to exploit her latent powers as a spirit medium. The letter also explained that he would try to haunt the pipa to give her some extra help.
  • The pipa can incite extreme emotions when played. This can be used to calm ghosts and help them pass on, or whip them into an berzerk frenzy. Playing different genres can make different things happen. Playing a marching song inscreases battle efficiency in her allies, and can regenerate wounds, though it can only do one at a time, for example. In addition, playing it in a certain way can summon the spirit of Ying's great-grandfather for help (he can affect the physical world, but only while Ying Wu is playing) and advice. He appears as a young and spry guy to those that can see spirits, since that's how he saw himself when he was alive. He also knows martial arts.
• Skills:
  • Ying is very skilled at playing the pipa, and her skill is further enhanced by the supernatural properties of her pipa.
  • She can also cook pretty well, having been taught by her parents. She gained a sense of how to work calmly under pressure from this.
• Weaknesses:
  • Ying is just an ordinary human being that happens to have a haunted pipa. It's her only mode of offense and defense, since she has no idea how to fight.
  • Her grandfather can be affected by spirit magic and wards, and other spirits can also harm him. He has to retreat inside the pipa he haunts in order to rest and heal.
• Personality: Because of her Asian-style upbringing, Ying is simple-seeming and straightforward, yet responsible. She believes in helping others whenever possible, and is secretly worried about the implications in her great-grandfather's will. When things get really dicey, she has the potential to become bolder and more daring. Since her family has only recently moved to the US, she is still experiencing culture shock.
• Alignment: Lawful-leaning Neutral Good
• Background:
  • Ying Wu was born into a middle-class family in Hong Kong and grew up in relative peace and safety. Everything seemed perfect, except that her great-grandfather always seemed a bit senile.
  • Eventually, she started playing the pipa, and, with her parent's permission, entertained her family restaurant's customers instead of helping out in the kitchen.
  • Then, she was willed her great-grandfather's pipa, he died, and everything seemed to blow up from there. Her family suddenly decided to move to the US to start over, but used up all of their money in the process.
  • Still reeling from all the changes in her life, she was sent to Lakeside High, where she is still trying to ride out the culture shock and make new friends. However, she is doing well academically, since she was always studious.

  • Ying Wu speaks Cantonese, Mandarin, and English in descending order of proficiency.

Yeah, that’s a common thing in RPs. It makes the storytelling go much smoother.

• Name: David Livingston
• Alias: The D Big D Dr. Livingstone
• Age: 15
• Gender: Male
• Appearance: A somewhat short, yet athletically built young man with almost androgynous features. Light blue eyes and black hair (dyed platinum blonde), which is meticulously gelled so as to hang permanently over his right eye. Perpetually serious or even outright expressionless face, and his attempts at looking lighthearted can come across forced most of the time. Usually wears a black tee, blue jeans, a sports jacket and matching sneakers.
• Powers:
  • ZPE Field Projection: The ability to project a field of zero-point energy around small objects. Usually with an electrical discharge and a sometimes visible arc of greenish-yellow lightning, physical contact or proximity of around a metre with an object no more than half David's size can be trapped within a field of ZPE by him in order to be manipulated and "reprogrammed" in terms of its attributes and behaviour. For instance, with his lucky coin, David can flip it into the air and cause it to hover in place and spin perpetually, or bounce it off of a surface and cause it to keep its current momentum. This would have effectively given him a clumsy form of telekinesis if his influence didn't halt past a metre in his personal space (he can however cancel out an object's altered effects at will if he is close by—for instance halting his coin from spinning and allowing it to drop back into his hand—but he is effectively "programming" what an object is to do while it is in his grip and as such is relatively helpless to stop whatever it's doing when it leaves his immediate vicinity). David primarily uses this power for utilitarian purposes and demonstration—his belief of its potential to produce theoretically infinite energy is one eager to be shown. It is also to be noted that the larger the object, the longer David has to keep contact with it before the effects become apparent in it—his coin can be affected near-instantly, but an object approaching the maximum limit of size could take 20-30 seconds before he can do anything with it.
• Equipment: Barring usual school items, David also carries a worryingly large collection of books on theoretical physics and quantum mechanics that seem way beyond his reading range, along with an odd array of small items which he has used previously for testing his abilities on. David also carries a vintage 1920s dollar coin, which as well as being a general good luck charm it also turns out to be the perfect conductive material for his experiments with ZPE. David's school bag also seems to contain an assortment of hair-related products, but these are usually kept with a degree of secrecy within it (i.e. stuffed haphazardly underneath the previously mentioned study books).
• Skills: David is an athlete in the making, and has previously taken dance classes with his sister before he moved on to general acrobatics and eventually track running for the school itself. As such, he is naturally flexible and agile, and is also a tad stronger for his age than one might expect (especially considering his relatively slim build). Barring physically, David is also considered a genius in the fields of mathematics and theoretical science, specifically in regards to general physics and quantum mechanics. He is also fairly skilled with computers and technology, and knows how to take advantage of the connections he has gained.
• Weakness: David's powers cannot be relied upon for brute-force methods, and his need to preplan for practically every manoeuvre means he can end upon being caught off-guard easily if he is not being defended or otherwise taking into account potential surprise attacks. He is also naturally susceptible to the effects of his own powers—a certain coin bouncing around a room at the consistent speed of a bullet would be just as lethal to him as anyone else—but specifically using his powers too much can begin to drain him both mentally and physically. David also lacks patience and skill in more typical subjects other than his niche of quantum science and theoretical physics, and his tendencies to become supremely focused on these subjects in particular can make him predictable—if not even easy to outsmart. David is also physically unimposing and (despite his athleticism) typically ineffective in a fight—as such, he usually tries to defeat his opponents through underhanded trickery or simple cold logic as opposed to any sentimental illusions such as "chivalry" or "not kicking your enemies in the testicles". This attitude, unfortunately, has also meant David has not attained many friends.
• Personality: An attempt to seem composed, smart, and logical disguises David's utter paranoia and emotional instability. David tries his hardest to maintain his aloof and confident exterior, as well as to remain certain in his own status as a genius—but a constant, niggling feeling of inferiority plagues him and drives him to push himself and others beyond what is reasonable to reach his lofty standards. David overworks himself in his studies and rarely allows for even short periods of free time, only ever really entertaining such prospects with the people he's close with such as his sister but never voluntarily displaying such behaviours in front of his peers. Though he does have a goofier, lighthearted side, it is buried under anxieties regarding how they'll be perceived by others around him and as such remains typically unacknowledged by him. David is convinced that his abilities could not have been bestowed upon a more suitable person, and aims to use them to benefit the world, but is also terrified of the abilities of his fellows and desperately tries to train his existing powers to as to make sure he remains one step ahead—even if it crosses certain moral lines in the process.
• Alignment: Neutral Evil
• Background: Raised in Newport on Rhode Island, David was born as the youngest child to Lucius and Jeanette Livingston; the former of which had moved from Japan in order to pursue certain "business ventures" (despite the fact that he was young and still attending college at the time). After Lucius abruptly left a mere three years after he was born, David soon threw himself into his studies and became obsessed with bettering the world via his own understanding—albeit in an effort to distract from the crippling responsibility he felt in having to help provide for his now financially struggling family. With him constantly attempting to maintain the façade of good mental health and relative friendliness with his sisters and mother while also trying to keep his grades high and his abilities refined, David's stress soon reached a breaking point—to which he discovered that he had involuntarily unlocked a dormant, adaptive form of psychic power. With these abnormal abilities forming themselves based on his knowledge of quantum mechanics, David took the opportunity to begin intense tests and experiments regarding all he could do with this phenomena—initially ignorant to the fact that others in his family and even out of it could manifest supernatural abilities of their own. Now haunted by the possibility that he's not as special as he'd hoped himself to be, David has thrown himself into his studies and practices to an even heavier extent—even as his sanity degrades with every perceived "achievement".
• Etc:
  • It is theorized by David that his family on his father's side are all dormant ESPers, as his sisters (and the fractured memories of his father) have shown signs of having such paranormal abilities in the past while under stressful circumstances, while by comparison his mother has not.
  • David's abilities do not absolutely correlate to actual zero-point energy fields (he himself would describe it more along the lines of "tactile quantum programming"), but as definite proven knowledge regarding zero-point energy has yet to be found (and totally not because it sounds cooler) he attributes it instead to this mostly theoretical niche of quantum science.
  • Has developed a love-hate relationship with the nickname "Dr. Livingstone"; it was originally created by his eldest sister in order to tease his scientific ventures, but she has since moved on to calling him "Big D" instead after realising he had grown used to the older name.

• Alias: The Only Person on the School Newspaper Team
• Age: 15
• Gender: Female
• Appearance: A short, dark-skinned girl with short and curly hair and eyes near-black with a glimmer of something more, Sapphy dresses in a way that could be considered 'normal' for Lakeside High; A button-up white shirt under a slightly over-sized blue felt jacket, pinstripe pants in the school's color scheme and sturdy brown leather shoes. And of course, quite often seen wearing an archetypal brown PRESS hat.
• Powers: None?
• Equipment: A hand-me-down photo camera. A makeshift spare lens assembly for said camera with a symbol engraved on the lens. A notebook and pencil. A NERF blaster.
• Skills: Investigative journalism. General fitness. Speed-reading. Eldritch lore.
• Weakness: Sapphos Macdonald is a mortal. Fragile, near powerless and she is completely cognizant of how badly the stories she loves typically work out for investigator heroes.
• Personality: Sapphy is a smart girl, smart enough to know that if the world is as to her expectations that the best thing she can do is remain calm, inquisitive and most importantly sane. She strives for the truth of a matter when possible but when worst comes to worst she's quick to strip down a situation to a core goal and the steps to accomplish it.
• Alignment: Neutral Good
• Background: The second child of a Chicago local and an educated woman who moved there to pursue a career far from her troubled home, Sapphos Macdonald spent a lot of her young years caught up as the sidekick to her older brother's adventures as a boy detective, absorbing from him a love of tales of both mysterious murders and more hardboiled crime. Naturally when the brother went to school at Lakeside High the adventures became more thrilling, more challenging and more real and Sapphy went along for the ride. But then stirred two things: A desire to be the star of the story and a sprawling obsession with the minutia of the cosmic horror genre. As the time approached for Sapphy to also enter Lakeside High, her brother encouraged her exploration of stories dashing and gritty investigators, criminal scum, high crimes and beings from outside comprehension to prepare her for working with him on the school newspaper for the single year the two both attended. Now with Angus having graduated and her research into the paramundane reaching a peak she's certain something is wrong at this school and is willing to do her all to find out what.
• Etc: Sapphy actually has a hard time reading the usual source material of the cosmic horror genre and much prefers delving into summaries, dramatic readings, adaptations and wiki pages of the lore and minutia.

• Appearance: Mleh.◊ Does Seo have any clothes besides her sports uniform? Even her closest acquaintances don't know.
• Powers: By harnessing the light from the sun above, Seo and her trusty volleyball are bolstered by the power of Shining!
  • Shining Volley Impact!: Infused with solar power, Seo's volleyball can hit hard and hit fast. When it impacts with a target, it lets loose a bright glare of sunlight, so be aware if you don't want to be blinded! What's more, if Seo puts more energy into the ball, then it's capable of curving in the air, homing in on a target! Which is not to say that it's completely unavoidable; just take care if you think the ball's passed and you're in the clear.
  • Shining Muscle Power!: If Seo infuses her body with solar energy instead, then her muscles will be capable of superhuman feats; two tons lifted with ease! Ten feet cleared in a single bound! 800 metres accomplished in 10 seconds below the world record! She can also serve as a human glowlight if she so wishes, and it keeps her toasty in chilly weather.
  • Shining Body Growth!: Something of a disingenuous name, Seo's sunlight can accelerate her body's natural healing ability, curing wounds in a third of the time they would normally take. A third of a broken bone's recovery is still around 2/3 weeks, though, so she can't be too careless.
• Equipment:
  • Her trusty volleyball. No, it doesn't belong to the school. No, she didn't steal it. No, she's not giving it back, it's hers and you can't prove otherwise.
  • A blue Cannondale road bike, which she rides whenever possible. To school, to the shops, to the next door neighbour...
  • A fake ID. Works about 50% of the time (would be higher if she didn't wear a uniform everywhere she went).
• Skills:
  • Proudly repping for the jock nation, Seo makes up for her lack of brainpower with her expertise in all things physical. She exercises daily, bikes whenever possible, and enjoys a position as Lakeside High's most proficient wing spiker.
  • Speaks Korean fluently enough to deflect her parents' constant attempts to interfere in her life.
  • Despite what one would expect, Seo is surprisingly up-to-date on all the local and international news. Thank her job as a newspaper delivery girl, and the monotonous breaks where reading her cargo is the only source of entertainment.
• Weakness:
  • As expected, Seo's solar powers don't work too well at night-time or in cloudy weather. While she can keep some solar power stored within her during such times, like a battery, it can only last her so long.
  • There's technically no limit to the amount of solar that she can absorb. However, using too much of it can cause her or her ball to burn up from the inside, so she has a self-imposed limit to avoid this issue.
  • She ain't the smartest cookie in the jar. Don't rely on her to solve issues beyond 'bad thing needs beaten up'.
• Personality: Seo's mind harbours a vivid imagination, albeit one that belongs to a girl who's naturally quiet and stoic. If she had her way, then she'd only ever need to talk to her team members. Sports and the supernatural are her only passions, and anything else has to work to garner her interest. She has a habit of bending rules and sneering at authority, but toes the line as to keep her position in the school's volleyball team. All bets are off outside the school zone, however, and it's not unusual to find her sneaking a bit of booze or joyriding down the Chicago streets, stony-faced as always while her mind is off on its own adventure.
• Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
• Background: At the delicate young age of six, Seo was playing soccer in a local field when she accidentally punted the ball into the garden of an abandoned (and reportedly haunted) house. When she went to fetch it, she discovered that the torrential rain of the past few days had filled up the house's well, and uncovered a strange little box that had previously rested at the bottom of it. Opening it up revealed an ancient talisman that merged itself with Seo's soul, granting her the ability to harness the light of the sun itself!
  Her parents, naturally, didn't believe her, and chastised her for the dozenth time about favouring sports over more prosperous hobbies. You may see where she gained her anti-authoritarian streak. Henceforth keeping her power to herself, Seo got a job as soon as possible to placate her parents, and continued following her dream of athletic stardom, signing up for the school's volleyball team at the first possible opportunity. As for the house, it was demolished a few years later, so while Seo is curious as to the origin of her power, she doesn't have much leads to follow.

Appearance: 6'3 ft tall with black hair and green eyes, casual clothes: wears a gray t-shirt with a navy hoodie over the t-shirt, as well as blue sweatpants. Shoes are casual tennis shoes, the usual. Serious clothes: a white business shirt with a tie and a black jacket over the white business shirt, as well as black dress pants. Shoes are dress shoes.

Powers: Bond Flames: Due to his ancestry, John can cast flames that he can make take any form he wishes. John can control the intensity of the flames, their size, as well as make them into spirits that can fight for him. Using the strength of a bond he shares with someone, he can summon a personification of the person he shares the bond with. Each personification has its own unique set of abilities and attributes. John can only keep a personification out for around 30 minutes before needing to call back the personification to recharge. While recharging, the strength of John's power is significantly lowered.

Ancestral Magic: due to his mother’s ancestry of mages, John is capable of healing and supportive magic. His father’s ancestry gives John an ability that allows him to scan peoples weaknesses and strengths, as well as some lightning magic.

Equipment: a water bottle and a sheathed ritual dagger that is usually kept on his person at all times, the ritual dagger tries to get John to make friends. He rarely uses it for rituals.

Skills: John is a natural athlete, and uses physical activity to prevent himself from being bullied. He is also skilled in martial combat. John is also a pretty good cook.

Weakness: He often ends up becoming too attached to his friends/lovers and ends up becoming quite sad when they die or leave him. He can be kind of clingy towards friends and lovers. This weakness formed due to a lack of friends as John was growing up.

Personality: John is a quiet, kind guy who is introverted towards strangers, but can be quite talkative around his friends and those he is comfortable around. He also tends to be rebellious and doesn’t always care about rules or laws, but will follow them if he feels like he should.

Alignment: Chaotic Good

Background: He was raised and born in Oklahoma, where his mage family taught him how to conceal his abilities to keep his powers a secret. He moved to Chicago because he was transferred to Lakeside High. He has a pretty good relationship with his parents.

• Alias: Silver Wolf, Jam Biscuit

• Appearance:

Lloyd is a girly boy with curly and fluffy hair that reaches down to his neck. He's shorter than most kids his age and has pure black eyes. He also has random freckles on his face.

When he transforms into his Silver Wolf form, he becomes a Little Bit Beastly. Instead of wearing his usual green and white squared hoodie, he wears a grey and silver wolf skintight-suit that covers his hair, complete with a gray tail and wolf ears, both of which are real. Above the suit, he wears big, paw gloves which are clawed and wears shoes that look like snow-boots, which are also clawed. If one looks underneath the boots, they would find a picture of a pink wolf paw. The paws of the shoes themselves are actual cushions that mute Silver's footsteps. Above the skintight suit itself is a gray and silver coat made out of fur (it's magic, don't worry). He also wears a utility belt, and of course, gains fangs. His left eye turns green while his right eye turns purple. Basically, think Tokyo Mew Mew. If he were to take off his costume, it would be revealed that both his hair and tail are actually blue and pink and not gray.

When he transforms into his Crystal form, his hair becomes blue and pink and he grows an ahego that looks like this, which is also blue and pink. His eyes are also blue and pink, and if one looks closely then they can see stars in them. His clothes do not change.

• Powers:
  • By using his magical Star-shaped necklace, Lloyd can transform into two superpowers alter-egos. While in his Silver Wolf form, no one can recognize Lloyd unless he transforms right in front of them. This this not apply to his Crystal form.

  • Silver Wolf form: By using a piece of moon rock embedded into his star-shaped necklace, Lloyd can transform into his alter-ego Silver-Wolf form. While in this form, he has the power to do whatever a wolf can, with a supersonic-howl, night vision etc.

  • Crystal form: While in this form, Lloyd becomes Jam Biscuit!! Lloyd has the ability to grow objects made out of crystals. He can manipulate them, throw them around and shape them into other objects such as mallets and swords.

• Equipment: A few magical devices that he got to keep from his previous adventures. He rarely uses them.

• Skills: Thanks to being an excessive daydreamer and watching countless hours of anime and manga reading, Lloyd has an almost uncanny ability to immediately and accurately discern the power he is being faced up against and how to defeat it. He is also crafty, and enjoys playing with his opponents a bit too much by making himself a target that's hard to hit.

• Weakness:
  • Despite the pre-mentioned skills, Lloyd often heads into situations without a plan, which often earns him a cut or two. His habit of daydreaming also leaves for a good window of opportunity to strike, and he often needs to daydream when coming up with plans. Depending on how serious the situation is, he has a tendency to want to have fun rather than focus on the task or ongoing fight as well, leaving him further susceptible to attacks.

  • With his crystal structures, he can't create anything complex such as vehicles, as they require intense concentration and knowledge of even knowing how to construct vehicles and objects with tiny, moving pieces.

  • His habit of daydreaming tends to leave him unresponsive, especially in serious situations as he tries to observe the events that unfold around him. This also makes him seem quiet and inattentive, when he really is trying to help.

• Personality: In his civilian form, Lloyd is only known as "that one crossdresser" who doesn't interact much with others besides his teachers. However, as Jam Biscuit, his true colours are revealed as he changes from quiet bookworm to a frenzy superhero that enjoys messing about and annoying people, especially his opponents. This is because he believes that the gifts are all just a game, and that he doesn't have to take them seriously.

• Alignment: Neutral Good

• Background: He was raised and born in the UK and moved to Chicago for his parents work. One night on the full-moon, while in France a magic rock fell from the moon. Said work was glowing and a few seconds after it made impact directly in front of Lloyd, it cracked open to reveal a star-shaped item, which Lloyd turned into a necklace. After a few months of testing out his new powers, he discovered a superhero team who were also Animal-Themed Superbeing's. Together, they did superhero stuff! Before Lloyd moved away, that is.

• Etc:
  • Lloyd is an avid researcher of the paranormal.

  • If he loses his trinket, it will automatically teleport back to him. Nobody else can use it but him.

  • Lloyd has been a superhero since he was at least 9, so he has quite a lot of experience.

  • His transformation trinket can turn into other accessories as well, such as rings, chokers and wristbands.

Appearance: a 5'7 Japanese girl with a green eye and a blue eye, short silver hair, a white t-shirt, navy blue hoodie, and gray sweatpants.

Powers:

Electricity generation and manipulation: Shizuka can summon and control waves of electricity to make herself move much faster, electrocute people by touch or otherwise, make the electricity form into bolts that represent lightning, and charge items with electricity.

Equipment: A very well made sword designed for thrusting, which is usually kept on her person, sheathed and hidden. She also carries around a small notepad, along with a pen to communicate with others without talking.

Skills: Shizuka is a very skilled fencer, even without using her powers, and attends fencing tournaments for money and to improve. She is also very agile, She is also able to cook very well.

Weakness: She has trouble working with people she is unfamiliar with, but she usually works with someone well once she becomes more comfortable around them. She also has relatively low endurance in battle, so she relies on dodging or reflecting most attacks.

Personality: the quiet girl who usually stays in the back of the class, or wherever draws the least amount of attention. She is actually pretty nice once you can get through her thick outer shell, but very few have accomplished this.

Alignment: True neutral

Background: Shizuka comes from an Asian-American family that highly values the arts, fencing and delicate combat being one of them, which Shizuka chose to pursue. She has a bittersweet relationship with her mother, who feels the need for her children to be great and revolutionize whatever field they specialize in. Her father is a workaholic, making sure that his family has the best living conditions possible.
