I won't watch it, or even care. The show ended, and ended well. That's it. The end.
My angry rant blog!I gotta finish the EQG shorts, but this looks fine. I enjoy TTG, and this sounds better written too.
...It's weird having so many websites and no way to properly display now, lol.Well, I'll say that this showcases the power of Friendship is Magic. The new designs are staying, unlike the Transformers where only Bumblebee seems to retain his modern design (in some way or some form). Heck does anyone even remember what the original Ponies look like?
At least the aspects of the original designs remain. The art style is a no-go to me due to how prevalent it (still) is to this day.
Thankfully, it’s a spin-off mini-series, so I’m (still) not panicking at all... (Beat) yet This will become a running gag. You watch.
Wait a second: How on earth did I even get here?Man, this new design sure makes these ponies look dopey and childish. It'll be weird hearing their regular voices out of these models.
"Best customers in the world", eh? I guess her friends will be paying for all those cupcakes, then.
Backgrounds look flat with no or weird perspective. They don't look like places characters could naturally walk into, especially the interior of Sugarcube Corner. Which is now on a cliff by the sea, apparently.
I'm not even sure what is going on in that last screenshot. There seems to be a big shadow cast over part of the sky and that rainbow. That makes it look even more like a painted backdrop.
I haven't seen any animation in action yet, but I have a hunch that ponies are going to sort of float in front of these backgrounds, rather than be in them. Combined with the "even more slice of life" description, it sounds like it is going to be somewhat of a sketch show more than anything else.
Chibi seems to be excuse jargon for making baby versions of the main characters. It is usually not a good sign when creators start babyfying their adult characters.
It's been a long time since the merch has been so front and centre. The "character descriptions" are simply mini toy commercials for the actual dolls.
"Magical mane Rarity" sounds like she just has one long string of hair running from head to tail inside the body. Brushing her hair just pulls the strand of hair one way or the other. Hence why you have to switch brushing her mane and tail... I don't want to believe that this will fool any kids. Also note that we are fully into "magical" toys for girls territory here.
The rest of the ponies are lumped together as "potion ponies". Note that Rainbow Dash is not even named as part of the group. Trixie is also part of the cast, along a new pony called Potion Nova, which sounds like a new Zecora to me.
The toys also come with bottles of "magic potions" (let's hope there's nothing unsafe in those - these toys are meant for toddlers, after all...), that will quickly run out. Presumably you have to buy more? Or can you refill them? It did say earlier the hair changes colour with simple tap water, so I have a hunch that the "magic potions" are just that. It still sounds like the toy version of microtransactions, though.
Gotta love those big choking hazard signs on the boxes, by the way. Always nice to remember that these things are potential hazards to your toddlers, even when marketed at them...
It is hard to tell just from this, but it sure looks and sounds like a much more simplified, kiddyfied show to me, much more blatantly designed to sell toys than Fi M.

Optimism is a duty.So that's where these◊ are◊ from◊.
The Protomen enhanced my life. These manes on those toys look ugly, especially Fluttershy's. Is this the norm on these toys? It just seems poorly produced.
Optimism is a duty.I'm guessing so. Collectors aren't too pleased.
The Protomen enhanced my life.I still need to finish the show, but I know one person who'll be thrilled to hear about a spinoff centering entirely around Pinkie Pie.

Qui odoratus est qui fecit.I’ll watch it. Not going to take it seriously however, but because I think the show doesn’t expect you to
Maybe it will be more enjoyable if you watch it as one of those parody videos like My Little Pony in a Nutshell or Ask Fluffle Puff rather than as a continuation of Friendship is Magic.
I think it's funny that so many people are just assuming that this show will be awful because it goes for a "chibi" look. Sure I don't think the designs are great, but they aren't like Original Movie Sonic design levels of bad either. Plus I used to hate most of the EQG designs, but now I've grown to like them {Except for the adult character designs. Those still look bad}. I'm more curious on if this will be like a sketch comedy thing or if these short episodes will actually each tell some kind of short story. It sort of feels like after Teens Titans Go people just assume Chibi = Bad. The fact that the show is gonna go back to the Slice of Life format instead of the adventure stuff is what's gotten me to at least give it a shot before writing it off completely, since I've always thought FIM was way better at the former then the latter.
From what I've seen, it will probably lean more to sketch comedy.
I think the negative reaction comes from the expectation that, since the character designs have been kiddified, and the backgrounds much less realistic and flat, that the writing will be similarly less complex and aimed more squarely at young children.
Optimism is a duty.Yeah, people are expecting a similar thing to Teen Titans Go, which changed the art style and made things a lot goofier.
Not that FIM was short on goofiness to begin with, but I think the fans are just scared that it'll take away everything we loved about Friendship is Magic.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.The trailers of this show were removed from Youtube, apparently over the singer of that song having some major twerking-related drama in the media.
In other news, there seems to be controversy over what, exactly, the art style will look like.
Optimism is a duty.KP discusses Pony Life, and is generally optimistic about it.
She is also drawn in the new style. And winks a lot, for some reason.

Someone on toonzone found an image on the MLP You Tube channel (specifically the header), with a date of June 18. Let's see what hay.
... Is it me or does the new design give Twilight a bit of a pigs nose in that pic?
Optimism is a duty. This trailer (which is unlisted) shows more footage from the show. It mentions a summer 2020 release date, but nothing else.
Well, it is summer, and it is 2020. Also, it is coming this weekend, if my sources are right.
Optimism is a duty.
Fillies and Gentlecolts, it looks like the next show in MLP G4 has been anounced.
The general consensus seems to be that this is shaping up to be the Teen Titans Go of MLP. I only say: don't be too negative about it just yet.
But, at the same time, don't be too positive about it.
