PSA: a cat is not a dog
Current and suggestion are both basically page quotes.

How else are you supposed to convey this?
I'm indifferent to the suggestion. I don't think having real-life images is a bad thing, but the suggestion isn't any worse.
It's a quote
OP gets my vote.
and Any image for this is going to be text-reliant; I think Bart's skeptical expression is at least something.
All other things equal I'll take a work-related image over an IRL one, as this is a wiki that catalogs trends in fiction.

OP. He's reading a letter (part of the scam is that it's done through mail/email correspondence) and has a skeptical expression.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Better than the current, at least.
(Annoyed grunt)Btw, the example in OP has a punchline but it subverts the message.
I'm the one who suggested the current image for the trope, and believe me, that was the absolute best example that I could find. It's extremely difficult to show this trope without having something tell exactly what it is.

The "page quote" argument is essentially moot for dialogue-based tropes, and this is no exception.
I prefer current since it's more clear that it's an email.
"It's just a show; I should really just relax"as mentioned before, Bart's expression at least adds something visually which makes it an improvement
PSA: a cat is not a dogGiven that the scam exclusively takes place over email, I think it's almost a text-based trope. The current gives you an idea of the suspicious syntax and electronic nature of the scam, neither of which are at all apparent in the suggestion.
"It's just a show; I should really just relax"to OP, for the reasons above
mwop^^ FWIW, Bart lampshades the fact that letters are an unlikely source.
that second panel could be used as a caption
PSA: a cat is not a dogBUPKIS?
The universe is under no obligation to make sense to us.Agreed.
I think we need a crowner to decide between OP and current.
I'd rather go BUPKIS than just use a picture of someone talking as an image.
Looks good, but it's a bit blurry. Can you make it in better quality?
The universe is under no obligation to make sense to us.There, how's that?

Better.
