Working together:

If you are trying to do one thing, two or more of you can pool a trait (but it has to be the SAME trait and applies to the effort).

Example, if you want to fake a call from the principal to lure Miss Strick out of the classroom, two or more of you could add your Cunning traits together and then multiply that sum by a die roll.

I want to apologize if you sincerely feel that I, as a GM, have been railroading you.

I realize I haven't explained my role playing style. I believe in encouraging Freedom of Action for characters but not Freedom from Consequence for characters. That means I try to reward creativity but have my story world react to what your characters do. I want my players working toward goals, especially if it's by a path I didn't expect. As long as I know what those goals are, I will try to adapt my story.

As GM, I officially promise to do my best to not punish you for your creativity. I will try to make this shared world react organically to what your characters do and to try to provide opportunities for what you want those characters to do if it fits the internal logic of my story.

Please note I said OPPORTUNITIES, not guarantees.

• Want to rob a bank?

Fine! There's a bank six blocks from the school, with two guards on duty. You'll pass a police station on the way. The head guard, Dave, always goes on a smoke break at 3:15 PM. Don't forget the bank has security cameras, because I (and this game's version of police) won't.  

• Want to hot-wire one of the school's defense mecha and go on a joy ride?

Sorry, I already said they don't currently exist on this version of Earth (All Aerth-residents call it Earth, by the way). You're free to use the profits from your bank robbery to pay to have a mech built, donate it to the school, and THEN hot-wire it.

Are characters in my game trying (and will continue to try) to railroad you? YES. Felix is 100% trying to get you to do certain things. It is his JOB to get certain things done, and having you do certain things is how he can accomplish that job. However, he is not me, merely a plot device of mine. As I had Star White herself tell you: take anything Felix says and does with a grain of salt.

If you see me railroading you, please call me out on it. I know that I am not perfect. But also, please don't assume my world is a railroad until you have actually tried leaving the tracks.

To be clear, that was my character's reaction in-universe. They don't remember what it's like to be in school and have to do what the teachers say all the time.

Ok, thank you for letting me know. I had hoped that was what you meant, but I wasn't sure and got overly defensive. I am enjoying this rp and want you all to is well.

I'm gonna be heading to bed soon, so I might not reply right away to updates. Just givin' ya a heads up.

The badly lost drama student ninja is not someone your group has fought before, so there is no information about him yet in the magical HUD database yet. However, it HAS identified the ninja is level 3 and has a spirit of 20, so the magical HUD isn't completely useless.

Also, your powers pretty much work however you want them to, unless it conflicts with what I say. Also, as for why Ryo can understand/read Infernal but Yuki can't understand Japanese, I don't have time to explain.

If you want to know why certain characters have different stats, you can check the sign up thread. I have one post where I set up a table and update listing your stress, favor, and attributes.

In combat the winner's total is divided by the loser's stat before stress is assigned, so in a contest of athletics Maria can take 80 points of stress and Houston/Yuki can only soak up 60 points.

I kinda feel bad for Maria because she must be traumatized by what she did, but at the same time I can't help but giggle when I remember that she smashed the guy's face in while wearing those oversized cosplay cat paws.

I really wasn't expecting this roleplay becoming so dark so quickly, what are we madoka magica?

You're magical girls, trying to operate in the real world. That means if you attack Human enemies, they will bleed and/or die. Good people can make mistakes. Evil people can win. Some people (like Ima Hooker) get stuck with ridiculous names. There's only so much the Magic around you can cover up.

Ian does get one point of favor for making a 300 reference when posting message 300 to the thread.

All of you should be able to access the transformation sequence and map on the hud on your own.

If your stress exceeds your spirit, you will pass out or experience a stress explosion. If you pass out / stress explode in a situation where you can not be rescued from (say, invading the Aterian base where they're holding the Soul Jar containing Star Brite), then yes.

I don't plan to be an Unfair GM, so will try to make sure any death is either agreed on by the player or the result of either an obvious player mistake or bad team work. I will also try to give you plenty of warning, which is why Angel still hasn't attacked you directly yet.

weird question: does anyone else have headcanon voices for their characters? Like, if this were an anime, I think Rosa would be voiced by Yuu Asakawa and her/his inner thoughts as Ryo would be voiced by Takehito Koyasu.

My headcanon for Maria's voice is Alondra Hidalgo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4LCLx8J6zpo, I Imagine her with a latino accent, her inner voice is the same since she doesn't remember her previous life.

My headcanon voice for Yuki is somewhere between Sheena Fujibayashi and Arle Nadja.

Felix's voice is probably either nightmare fuel or more likely one of these two. Pick whichever is funniest for you.

I can only imagine what kinda money Alan Tudyk is raking in these days. Does he have some sorta deal with Disney? I mean, he's a good actor, but that's the main reason I can think of for them casting him in EVERY. SINGLE .THING they do.

No. Of course not. That would be ridiculous. You have nothing to worry about. I would never do something like that.
