Player Sheet
- Username: NIKA_02451
- Personality: A curious, albeit naïve sort. Seems cheery and chipper to other players, but seems to have an incredibly detached, focused mindset whenever encountering an enemy in-game. Otherwise kindhearted and selfless, seems to treat NPCs just as fondly as her fellow players. Strangely well-versed in language and incredibly knowledgeable in some select subjects; claims to have an eidetic memory. Speaks in vague terms about herself, but otherwise is benevolent and friendly. The type of person who would gravitate to the lonely one in the bar just to buy them a drink—for the simple reason of wanting to see them smile.
- Quick Bio:
- States herself to be 19 years of age.
- Claims to be joining Odyssey out of a combination of personal interest and her job. Has not clarified on what her job actually is.
- States she has known the Internet for a while but hasn't used it until recently. Also complains of poor connection from time to time—glitches and lags on occasion. In direct contradiction to this, though, she has exceptional reaction skills and is incredibly precise in her play.
- Vaguely clarifies she works for a large organization.
- Mentioned once that she has an indeterminate amount of sisters who have expressed interest in playing the game, however she's "not sure if they'd be allowed to."
- Proclaimed she'd prefer to remain as anonymous as possible after being pressured for a short period of time.
- Has never provided a straight answer as to how she got the common name "Nikki" as her in-game ID. The closest she's gotten to an explanation is "luck."
Avatar Sheet
- Name: Nikki
- Age: 19
- Race: Human
- Class: Bard
- Appearance: A slim, pale-skinned woman with a mess of brownish black hair in a boyish cut. Large, heavily saturated blue eyes, almost seem picked out to look as if they're glowing in shadowy areas. Soft, nonthreatening features—though some seem to be default selections. Noted by her fellow players to move in a way borderline unnatural—manoeuvring with smoothness and precision that simply sticks out in comparison to everything else. Her player blames this on connection issues.

- Equipment:
- Arm Blades: A variation of the standard starting blade weapons. Compact and fast, they lack significant damage output and knockback in favour of high attack speed and versatility—bolstered by duel-wielding (though they fit into only one slot and technically only count as a single-handed weapon).
- Ocarina: Included as an optional instrument in her Bard class. A small, ceramic wind instrument with 12 holes—able to be held on a string in order to wear as a pendant. Of the so-called "transverse" (sweet potato) design. Tuned to a tenor range.
- Spells:
- Charm Person: E
- Divine Construct:
- Plasma Cannons: A pair of arm-mounted projectile weapons with a high rate of fire and a moderate amount of (lightning-based) damage output. Can be charged up for a single, more potent attack at the cost of time. Drains the user's stamina in a manner directionally proportionate to the power behind each shot—a charged attack can and will knock off a massive chunk of a player's stamina and actively slow stamina regen effects while equipped.

borkI'm interested in this. Working on an orc ranger!
Character Sheet for Player
Username: draconXblade
Personality: VR tends to bring out the roleplayer in draconXblade. Since he also likes questing, leveling, and especially taking on big bosses, he made a character who'd want to do the same. Thus was born Grummrath, Orcish hunter. Acting fairly stoic and serious around outsiders, he loosens up around his newfound "guild-family". He's always looking for a new quest or challenge, and dreams of taking on the mightiest of beasts. He does, however, show his respect for the forces of nature even as he hunts, and tries to avoid hunting for mere sport or levels if possible.
Quick Bio: Guy in his 20s. Has played other VRMM Os in the past, but picked up enough news about Odyssey that he got interested in this one, and finally decided to give it a go when the guild reopened. Works at a local game store.
Character Sheet for Avatar
- Name: Grummrath Wyrmfang
- Age: In his 20s
- Race: Orc
- Class: Ranger
- Appearance: Not as bulky as some orcs, Grummrath is nonetheless still fairly imposing in appearance. His hair is loose and wild, but clipped short at the sides of his head. Prefers to wear leathers/furs.
- Strength: C
- Dexterity: D
- Constitution: E
- Intelligence: D
- Wisdom: E
- Charisma: E
- Divine Ranking: None
- Skills:
- Ranged Weapon (E)
- Nature Lore (E)
- Animal Control (E)
- Equipment:
- Throwing spear: A spear... for throwing. Could be used at close range as well, but doesn't do much damage in the hands of an unskilled user like Grummrath.
- Spells:
- Bind Animal (E)
- Divine Construct:
- Dragonspirit Bow: The spirit of a fire dragon is contained within this bow. Grummrath can call on the power of this spirit to fire flaming arrows, or unleash the spirit's full power to send a flaming dragon figure to attack his enemies. However, Grummrath must learn to control the spirit's power over time. As long as it remains untamed, the dragon might attack unpredictably, targeting Grummrath's allies or even himself. It can't escape from the bow, however, and always returns to it eventually.

Player
- Username: Xx_FunkyMemelord_xX
- Personality: Kind of sardonic sometimes, though she genuinely wants to have a good time cooperating with other players. Tries to be helpful to the newer players since she had a fairly powerful character before she decided to reset. She's curious about the sudden disappearance of Odyssey and also wants to get in on any glory the "new" guild might accrue.
- Quick Bio: A 15-year-old girl with long black hair and brown eyes. She is a hardworking student who plays Worlds Beyond Ragnarok to unwind. True to her username, she makes a lot of memes about the game, most of which are well-received.
Avatar
- Name: Kanan Lightbringer
- Age: 18
- Race: Human
- Class: Healer
- Appearance: A brown-haired girl with brown eyes...yeah, it's pretty obvious that she's an aged-up and idealized version of the player. Kanan wears modest and practical white robes with red trimming and a bright red cloak.
- Strength: E
- Dexterity: D
- Constitution: D
- Intelligence: D
- Wisdom: D
- Charisma: E
- Divine Ranking: N/A
- Skills:
- Healing (E)
- Treatment (E)
- Staves (E)
- Equipment:
- Iron-Capped Stave: Part and parcel of the starting equipment, Kanan has found that its upgrade path has proven to be useful previously, which along with its decent stats has bolstered her decision to not swap it out. One can also use it to whack misbehaving guildmembers or discipline weak monsters!
- Red Cloak: A little something given to Kanan as a New Game Plus item, it grants Kanan minor fire resistance and a little bit extra defense. It'll probably be cast aside later on, but for now it will probably come in very handy.
- Spells:
- Word of Healing (E)
- Mass Word of Healing (E)
- Bless (E)
- Divine Construct:
- The Book of the Wyrd: Since Kanan is a healer and has no real use for weapons, she got a book filled with all sorts of powerful healing and guarding spells. While she cannot comprehend the contents of the book and learn anything written in it at her current level, it enables her to learn extra spells upon leveling up, making its drawback of being mostly inert more than worth it. If nothing else, it actually does decent damage when thrown (though it obviously has to be retrieved before it can be used again).

I wear the skin of the Elder Things, having come unto my own.Well, hopefully this is good enough. If it needs adjustment or the like, just let me know, I suppose. >.<
- Username: Jo_]{in9L32
- Personality: Outside of the game, the player is quiet, pessimistic and rather low on self-esteem, but is polite, patient. Their character, Zephyr however, is usually more vocal and outgoing. Around players they haven't seen before, they try to be friendly, if rather cautious depending on whether they're with players they know or not while trying to hide their inexperience by attempting to appear confident if questioned. With ones they're familiar with however, Zephyr's a lot more relaxed and surprisingly talkative while being a lot more willing to ask for advice.
- ...Having said that, being around the more...crazier ones is enough for the the player's attempt to stay in character to fade completely and to quietly and politely excuse themselves before getting the heck out of there.
- Quick Bio: A 20 year old college student, usually keeping to themselves on campus, either studying or assisting part-time with the IT department there. With eSports still a big thing in this day and age, especially considering a team was there, making sure the servers and computers ran properly was important.
- With the term about to end and exams dealt with, the student's found themselves with a lot of spare time on their hands and with Odyssey being talked about quite a bit on campus, decided to see what the big deal was, hoping it wasn't too different from a single-player RPG.
Avatar Sheet
- Name: Zephyr
- Age: 21
- Race: Godling
- Class: Scholar.
- Appearance: At the moment, their physical appearance looks fairly androgynous in both frame and face, yet with feathered wings instead of ears along with several smaller feathers in their medium-length platinum-colored hair with eyes of a similar shade. Wears a pair of circular glasses.

Equipment:
- Cypress Staff: A simple and boring-looking staff, even by starting gear standards, being made out of wood with a blue glass sphere at the top. At least it won't be interesting enough for thieves to try and steal. If they exist. Zephyr honestly doesn't know.
- Divine Construct: Shimmering Soul Ring: Like the name might imply, it's a ring inset with a gemstone that not only changes color depending on how healthy the wearer is, but able to recharge their Mana and giving any spells cast for the next 5 minutes a power boost (although I'm not sure how much would be allowed). Granted, it does have it's drawbacks as those spells not only go up in mana costs meaning he'll burn out quicker but it also drains from Zephyr's HP which can leave them incapcitated if they overdo it.

Hope you weren't expecting anything witty here. Maybe some day.- Username: King Zen
- Personality: Zen is a very private person who tries to keep as much of his real life out of his game life as much as he possibly can, not for any shame or anything to that effect but to keep drama from bogging down the fun he has with any of his friends on there. That being said, his real life is...not great.
- Quick Bio: 25 year old with dark hair, dark eyes and glasses.
- Name: Zay'An
- Age: 23
- Race: Human

- Appearance: Long silver hair with a bandage wrapped around his eyes for that "cool monk" effect, a simple red and black training robe with the Kanji for SPIRIT on the right breast, very simplistic, very...bland.

- Charisma: E
- Divine Ranking: None
- Skills:
- Martial Weapons (E)
- Defender (E)

- Weapon Rush (E)
- Equipment: Bracers, a specialized starting weapon that permits him to fight hand to hand as opposed to weaponry, intending for full use of Martial Arts.
- Spells: None
- Divine Construct: Japa Mala (Immortal Blaze): Prayer Beads made of the sacred fruit of the fig tree that go up his arm and wrap around his shoulder. When activated, he gains a huge Attack Power Boost, and gains a large chunk of his HP and Stamina back as well. However, once the effect wears off, the HP and Stamina gain is reduced heavily and all damage he takes is increased significantly.
The gods have fought their final war, now this new virgin world blooms with life. However not all is safe, as the darkness that sought to swallow creation crawls forth from the chaos to once more consume all in its path. Now is a time for heroes to rise to stand against the void and claim this world for their own.
This was the blurb that sold the most popular VRMMO to ever exist in the early 2100's, Worlds Beyond Ragnarok. Players were able to fully experience the game, taste, touch, and sound through use of even the lowest grade VR implants, making it easily accessible for people of all kinds. Using a revolutionary instant translation and full A.I. mastered interface each player would grow their characters differently along with the full blend of races, classes, and special evolution.
Many guilds rose throughout the games history, however one stood above all others, Odyssey, one of the largest and most powerful guilds cleared the way for others, facing even the final world boss and firmly cementing themselves into opening the way for a number of future expansions. Their exploits even reached news outlets and became a number one trending story for almost a solid month, with even talks of movie deals coming out of the final battle.
That is until one day, 99% of the player base of Odyssey simply disappeared. Their accounts deactivated and their items left in the guilds care. There was no reported drama on the forums, and those who knew the other players personally simply said 'they asked for privacy'. The sudden disapperance of the most powerful guild within the game was a mystery once again covered by news sites with no answers being produced.
That is, until a new request hit the forums for the game.
Odyssey now accepting new players. Accounts must be lv. 1 on fresh account. No smurf accounts, no hazing. Players that join will recieve a Legacy of the Gods class weapon upon joining.
And like that the rush was on, some players wanting to claim glory as one of the members of the top ranked guild of all time. Some are hunting the story of what happened to the original crew, and there are some who are just chasing fun.
What kind of player will you be?
Welcome to Worlds Beyond Ragnarok, an RP about people who play a game. So the premise of this doesn't really have much to do with the actual mechanics or running of a proper MMO, in fact the game itself is a secondary mechanic to facilitate player interaction. Players are encouraged to write adventures and drag other players along with them, keep communication going, write when they feel like and drop out when they feel like so long as they write their characters logging off if they are leaving, and just...be. Maybe your character is a roleplayer who gets really into character. Or a serious gamer who is looking to level up to a legend in the guild. A video maker who wants to use this as their chance at fame? Or a reporter hunting the story.
There will be occasional world quests, but players can take them optionally and still build about their personal adventure. This idea came to me as 'what if players had the freedom of a university RP but in a video game?' All this being said keep the characters respectful, just like any game the A.I. admin and the guild leaders reserve the right to purge nonsense from the game.
If you have seen shows like Sword Art Online or the like you kind of know whats going on here, except without the twist of it being a death game or getting lost in another world.

Stats
Explanation for Stats
All stats are ranked on a scale E-D-C-B-A-S-SS-SSS-X
Skills
The collection of skills and abilities picked up through your characters class and adventures. Includes everything from lock picking to special attacks.
Spells
Remnants of the gods power summoned by mortals and monsters in this age. Needs to be studied and drains a reservoir of power within the character that refills over time or with aid of a potion.
Divine Construct
A top tier weapon either crafted by a player or found by defeating a Void level monster. Gifted by the guild as a bonus for joining. Each one contains a unique ability or one use skill that effects the player in different ways until they reach a high enough level and class to properly use it. Like a staff that allows one to cast a X level spell, but seals the players ability to cast magic for a full 24 hour period afterward, or a sword that does massive damage but cuts back at the unworthy.
Information on basic races
All players start with access to a set number of races, new ones of which can be unlocked through quests, spells, items, or other arcane means.
Information on classes
Your characters starting profession, decides a number of skills and some stats, along with early progression into more basic levels of advanced classes. All classes start with one basic weapon they have a skill level for.
Each class can evolve differently based on play, items gathered, and player choices. A fighter could evolve into a shield master or a damage dealer. A scholar could become a single target or multitarget attack. Or players could advance into a race that takes up both class and race slots.
Okay I think that should handle pretty much everything. Any questions post here. There will be a discord for players to talk with each other for those accepted in. See you around.
