Isn't character progression a basic part of most RP's? Building up a character's abilities over time is also a good ask though, ideally Beatrice would find, like, a gun eventually, if not a full-blown new weapon not unlike a Devil Arm.

On the subject of asking questions, is there gonna be a Discord Server? Or at least a discussion thread of some sort?

What is so amusing about this? Why do you take lives? How can you forget?

  • Home Universe: An Earth, originally—of the common variety. Later transported to Lotus.
  • Name: Aileana (of the Isle of Arran)
  • Age: 22
  • Species: A snake woman. More specifically, a humanoid representation of an ouroboros—a sentient, perpetually self-consuming mass of serpents piled up into a female form and roughly glamoured over. It's complicated.
  • Abilities:
    • Abnormal Physiology: Aileana possesses a boneless structure and a painless response to attack—regardless of how chopped up she is, no amount of physical trauma can garner much of a reaction barring perhaps an uncomfortable grimace in response to an especially powerful assault. She can contort, twist, and stretch her body in mimicry of a serpent's—most often her limbs or neck to amplify her naturally unsettling appearance—and can even slither on her belly along the ground without any external assistance despite the impossibility of the whole process. While able to hide superficial wounds by momentarily blocking any line of sight to them (in a way restoring her glamour) and also able to reconnect severed limbs using her snakes if she's quick enough, Aileana also has the ability to shed her own skin in order to rejuvenate herself from more severe injuries—a process only activating when she's on her last legs and renders her vulnerable to attack while in the process. Even so, afterward she may be disoriented just as much as she is refreshed—sometimes coming across as if in a dreamlike daze and oftentimes bursting into hysterical giggles for seemingly no reason until she's fully settled into her new skin.
    • Snake Mastery: Aileana possesses the ability to summon the snakes making up her very form out into the open; albeit only in places out of sight from anyone nearby. Her range in this is limited only to her own body, however—she wears baggy clothing (usually robes) for the express purpose of maximizing the amount of unseen space for her usage. In her upper limits she can summon what can only be described as a "carpet" of serpents—venomous and constrictors alike—and even when idle she is usually seen with smaller snakes flitting across her form or coiling around her limbs as they pop in and out of existence. Interestingly, Aileana's snakes can also do this to her—summoning her humanoid form from the depths of their gullet to allow for easy transportation. Plus the ability to keep tabs on anyone she seems fit to follow. Most of Aileana's snakes are mindless drones, but a select few have retained their intelligence—some of them even have absorbed her own from when she momentarily overrides their minds. Aileana can also end up involuntarily releasing her snakes when cut open, but whether that's a good thing or not for the one on the other end is another matter entirely.
    • Consumption: Aileana and her snakes all share a connected appetite, and as such it isn't unusual to seem them feasting on the odd rodent or even devouring a whole deer if the opportunity arises. The method of ingesting prey is as expected for her snakes, but Aileana's method herself also reflects her inhuman nature—dislocating her jaw to a sickening degree and gulping down her meal (with or without prior poisoning from her venom glands, depending on how much they've personally offended her). Since the prey goes directly to the endless mass making up her form, Aileana is never seen fattened from a meal—even if the snake that has done the deed seems a little plumper than usual.
  • Appearance: 6'2". She's grown. Of a thin and long-limbed disposition—and by no means in an attractive way. Uncanny appearance; possesses a greyish skin with a smooth and scaly texture and with visible ribs beneath her clothes. Lacks any form of musculature to the point where it would be downright impossible for her to stand up if not for her nature. Possesses foldaway fangs with included venom glands, bright green serpentine eyes with a mildly hypnotic pattern, and a long forked tongue. Skin peels away as it begins to moult every few months or so—or if she's especially damaged. Covered in a variety of surgical scars and incision marks—these are constant and are never rejuvenated whenever she sheds her skin. Intriguingly, the extent of her true form is visible only by indirect means—both her reflection and shadow showcases the coiling masses of writhing snakes making up her so-called "body."
  • Alignment: Chaotic Good. Aileana is more empathetic and loyal than she lets on, but her methods can be questionable and her particular enjoyment in screwing with her allies can often make her come across obnoxious and abrasive. Still, she always lands solidly on the side of good when presented with the option to pick.
  • Backstory:
    • Aileana was born on the Scottish Isle of Arran before moving inland as her parents pursued a career in fashion-designing. Despite this, she has kept her regional accent and hails from her birthplace anyway—even after she herself moved abroad to America in order to become a lawyer. Whatever plans she had were unfortunately cut short as she was suddenly caught up with by a genetically-passed wasting disease that had plagued her family for generations now—and spent her 21st birthday bedridden in a hospital with little more than a celebratory bottle of alcohol to keep her company; the muscles in her limbs having slowly but surely decayed away into uselessness. Despite this—and her shortened life-expectancy making it unlikely she would reach her 25th birthday—Aileana seemed distinctly unperturbed, the trauma of all her hopes and dreams being so suddenly swept away from her grasp apparently having caused an existential crisis in the young woman (although she prefers to call it an 'epiphany'). Whether it was a coping mechanism or not, her fanaticism and insistence in the truthfulness of her developing philosophy about eternal return did next to nothing but disturb the doctors caring for her—but her conviction and newfound serenity was undoubtedly keeping her mental state calm at the very least ('stable' had gone out the window at this point). Still, her curiosity had kept her going strong—and at the very least she was as active as someone bedridden could possibly be (and incredibly chatty in bursts as well). Yet it seemed at the end of the day, her regained mental fortitude meant nothing when her body was steadily shutting down. Aileana's heart finally stopped beating three days after her 22nd birthday.
    • Until she awoke in a clearing with no memory of how she got there. Surrounded by a group of other equally displaced and equally confused individuals, Aileana found herself trapped in a form representative of her deepest, darkest self and innermost philosophies—a warped, self-consuming corruption of her own suffering mental state. While initially unpleased by this, Aileana soon found herself accommodating of the form and the freedom it gave her—flirting with the local king after meeting up with him alongside her little group and gaining a more solid grasp on her new identity after finding equipment and clothing suitable for her newfound physical state. Romantic tensions, regular tensions, fights, squabbles, mass mind control, and emotional breakdowns took place in The Realm of Dreams, before one day the Serpent of the Highlands simply vanished—transported through unknown means and without any prior warning or announcement. It is possible that her reality-bending state of being had caused her to enter into a form of dimensional flux, but what is certain is that Aileana's journey through realms is far from over—whether she likes it or not.
  • Personality: A soft spoken, deceptively serene, and distinctly menacing serpent with a silver tongue and a slight hint of sadomasochism for good measure. Aileana likes to unsettle others and be the general centre of attention, rarely without a smarmy comment or a mindbending opinion to express regardless of the local social norms. Initially she began as someone more sociopathic and difficult to read, but after her experiences in Lotus she seems to have opened up a little—becoming more outwardly emotional and sometimes displaying her more hurt and vulnerable side (albeit only with ones she particularly enjoys the company of). An intellectual and philosopher by nature, Aileana likes to argue for the sake of an interesting squabble more than anything, though she oftentimes finds herself offended anyway if her own personal opinions on the grand scheme of things are threatened (sometimes unintentionally on the part of the other in question). In truth, Aileana is deeply depressed and self-loathing; desiring satisfaction through her own validation and in desperate need of companionship to the point where she'll do anything to seek attention. Fearing her own extinguishment despite her claims to the contrary, Aileana is a heavily layered mass of hatred, mischievousness, despair, kindness, determination and weakness that even she herself can't fully figure out—but if her ultimate destiny is to be little more than a creepy snake monster then she truly has no reason to argue. Fate made her this way, of course—and it beats wasting away in a hospital bed. In theory, anyway.

Okay, so I was assuming this was against the rules since there was no mention of it but, just to be sure, after the game starts, can we either switch characters or play as two characters at once if we think we can handle it? I've seen people do it in other RP Gs, and I just wanted to know if it's possible in this one.

And I just now realized this is probably a better question for the discussion thread.

I suppose I have a couple questions though I'm not sure I would have time to join this RP.

1. You've got no power playing, no god-modding, and no meta-gaming. So, what if I 'do' submit a character on the upper limit of the power scale? Tet the God of Games, who would be described as omnipotent by his source material only restricted by his own choice to make life more interesting. The upper limit includes something above a god, so this is the next step, a god above gods, but below multiversal gods. What isn't power playing and god-modding by someone who could erase and re-create a universe at a whim? How do you pre-plan events around such a character's grand power, if you aren't allowed to discuss beforehand(metagaming)?

2. What is everyone doing? What do you expect the players to do when the RP starts? Are you going to do GM-Players-GM only order, or are players basically playing out their lives independently? Multiverse shattered, its rebuilt now, about to shatter again, to sum up backstory events. What brings the characters together?

Alright, here's a signup for my second character! If I'm correct in understanding we're allowed four characters each? Anywho, she's from the same universe as Caitlin/Killer Frost.

Home Universe: Arrowverse, Earth 1

Name: Nyssa Raatko, better known as Nyssa al Ghul

Age: 34

Species: Human

Abilities: Nyssa is at top physical condition, with acrobatic skills and a great deal of physical strength. She is a highly skilled assassin and expert at hand-to-hand combat; however, her preferred weapon is the bow (though is also skilled with a sword or knife.) She is stealthy, highly intelligent, and skilled in the art of meditation.

Appearance: Nyssa’s skin is a medium tone- she is not white- with deep brown eyes and long black hair. She is tall and has a slender but muscular build.

Alignment: Chaotic Good

Backstory: Nyssa is the daughter of Ra’s al Ghul, the leader of the League of Assassins. She has a half-sister named Talia. She was raised as a full member of the League in a place called Nanda Parbat; at the age of eight, she was already proficient with a sword.

When Nyssa was an adult, her father sent her near the island of Lian Yu, a prison on an island off the coast of China. It was there that she met castaway Sara Lance, and the two became very close. And I mean very close. Sara was the love of Nyssa’s life, was brought into the League as a member, and continued to hold a place in Nyssa’s heart even after Sara moved on.

When another member of the League had Sara murdered in a ploy to become the next Ra’s al Ghul, Nyssa’s loyalty to the group began to dissolve until finally, after the death of her father, she disbanded the organization. After Sara was brought back from the dead using the League’s Lazarus pit, Nyssa realized the potential horrors the pit could unleash, and set out to destroy the rest of them.

Personality: For someone who proudly held the title of “Heir to the Demon”, Nyssa is actually a very nice person. She is kind-hearted, but socially awkward; however, in battle she is cold-blooded and willing to kill. Though she was a member of the League of Assassins, she did their duties more due to a sense of personal vendetta than any true loyalty to her father, Ra’s al Ghul. She has a strong sense of honor and respect; however, she often is blinded by her emotions.

Stephan, I'll answer your questions as much as I can. Hopefully, this won't be too confusing.

1. First off, as long as the event cripples these high, middle, and low-order gods if you do submit your character as a god, for the first few posts you have god-like power. But when the event starts, your god powers decreased dramatically by 95%.

Thus, making you even less powerful than normal. Well, it's more complicated than that, gods do erase and re-create their own universes. But when the event arrived in the near future, their god power suddenly became less effective and powerful without warning.

2. In case if you are wondering, it is possible to do that. But if you know what you are doing, it can be done right. If I am not allowed to discuss it before, it's best to keep it until half-way into the RP where everything happened slowly starts to show its secrets. This can be done to show and discuss things later on, as well as answer any questions during the RP itself.

3. Well, everyone is living their normal lives before the event. What I expect the players encounter new people they haven't seen, some players ending up in the strange safe haven without them knowing. It's the players who are playing their own lives independently. Well, the real danger on how they bring themselves together was outsiders entering worlds to cause chaos.

Some players in Aetera bring each other to confusion at first, as they go on, they realize their home is either in severe danger or destroyed. So, they protect eachother while they wait the event until it ends. But there is several aspects, such as fear, depression, loss, and madness to go with it.

I know it's confusing, but this is the best answers that i can write. This could have a revision later on at some point in the future. But right now, it's a little late to question this, so you have to wait and see. If everything goes well, i'm sure it may be a success. If not, then i won't take any chanses to rewrite the damn thing.

Spottedleaf 2nd character, Nyssa has been accepted. Reason: Heir to the Demon sounds like a good name for a death metal band. I quite enjoyed it.

I'm a bit concerned about whether my character will make the cut since standards seem to be high here, but here goes.

  • Home Universe: RWBY
  • Name: Quan Wu (犬妩, last name convention)
  • Age: 17
  • Species: Faunus (dog-based, ears/tail)
  • Abilities
    • Her weapon of choice is the Proto Enbu. They take the form of two one-handed scatterguns, matte orange and jagged-like in appearance, one held in each hand. Absolutely rends anything point-blank, but quickly loses effectiveness at range. Can be conjoined at the grip ends to morph into a two-headed glaive, bladed on both sides. Can also be conjoined at the barrel ends for it to extend into what could be called a compound bow, which shoots very explosive and Dust-alterable projectiles (whether they can take anything that is not Dust outside of Remnant remains to be seen).
    • In addition, her Semblance (a power tied to one's Aura/soul, varying greatly between individual) is dubbed Triglav, allowing her manipulate terrain around her a la telekinesis. While the range is somewhat short (~5m radius), her control can become pretty acute, such as lifting several chunks about the size of the standard human and colliding them on a single point, or causing a localised tremor to stagger enemies. For some reason the range is strictly defined as a sphere; any matter accumulated at the end of its range smooths out into a curved surface, and any thrown chunks will lose all their horizontal momentum once it reaches the edge.
  • Appearance: Acts before thinking.
  • Alignment: Neutral good
  • Bio:
    • As a denizen of the Vale's suburban middle class, she was subject to the discrimination Faunus tend to face; despite this, Quan Wu was a gentle soul, preferring to cling to those who regarded her kindly while shrugging off most of the bullying. Somewhere in her young mind was a doubt, though; there was no shortage of information about the threat the Grimm posed, and she always had a worry that she would be unable to protect her friends just as they stood up for her. Those worries would be proven right during a school camp, when a young Grimm assaulted her best friend one night.
    • Wu saw the beast rip and bite into her friend, blood spewing from the child's form, and their futile attempts to fend off the assailant, all while she merely stood still and silent in shock. Fortunately a Hunter in the area managed to drive away the beast and get her friend the help she needed, but they never made a full recovery.. At that point, she vowed to become a Huntress herself, and prevent tragedies like these from happening again, from Grimm or otherwise.
  • Personality: Wu is your usual peppy, overly enthusiastic young girl, who can somehow get interested in nearly everything she encounters. Her vivaciousness leads her to make fast friends, though how energetic she can be could be overwhelming at times. She has an eye for making things as good as they could be for the people around her as well, often to a fault in the sense that she tends to stretch herself too thin trying to make everybody happy.

Here's my second character; sorry about the length. I was going to wait until later, but, well, no time like the present. Plus, I thought it would take longer to get his personality right (and I'm still not entirely sure I did, since he's one of those characters that's easy for me to write but hard to describe). Let me know what I left out, what I should elaborate on and what I should nerf. Also, if he gets accepted, can I write his posts in first person?

Home Universe: Alcatraz Series

Name: Alcatraz Smedry

Age: 13

Species: Human

Abilities:

1. Talent - Alcatraz's family have "Talents", which are basically superpowers that sound crappy on paper but are weirdly useful in practice (when they're not going off at the exact wrong time). His Talent is being able to break almost anything, even things like silence, wind, the fourth wall, falls, and he once even tried to break gravity, resulting in the aforementioned broken fall. The only thing he can't break are certain types of magic glass. The catch is that he can't exactly control what he breaks, so things spontaneously shatter, break down, or, in more impressive cases, explode around him, particularly when his emotions are going berserk. He's grown used to it at this point.

2. Oculator magic - Alcatraz can supercharge certain types of magic glass, giving him weird abilities. The one he uses the most is his Oculator's Lenses, which point out things that might be important. Others include Translator's Lenses, which do exactly what you'd expect, Windstormer Lenses, which summon gusts of wind, Firebringer's Lenses, which fire eye beams, etc. The downsides are that, first off, they're glass and Alcatraz breaks things, and second, they're almost all in ridiculous colors, so a perceptive opponent might be able to figure out an attack before it even begins.

Appearance: Kind of average. Brown hair, blue eyes, kinda skinny, wears a green jacket that's tougher than he is.

Alignment: Chaotic Good at best and True Neutral at worst, although he'd probably consider himself Chaotic Neutral.

Backstory: Alcatraz was a seemingly unwanted foster child with the worst name ever - that is, until he received a bag of magic sand from his biological father as a birthday gift (which was then promptly stolen by evil librarians, no I'm not joking), a crazy man claiming to be his grandfather showed up, told him of his origins, and then dragged him on the adventure of a lifetime...by which I mean an adventure that makes zero sense and quite possibly might end with someone's tragic death. Oh, and he also learns he's from a family of quasi-Royals who Actually Do Something, that his ability to break things is actually an extremely rare genetic ability, and that there's a bunch of hidden continents currently at war with a cult of evil librarians that secretly rule the world.

Personality: A sarcastic loner with...issues. He’s not exactly known for taking things very seriously and has a tendency to lampshade how weird basically everything that's happening to him is, but when he puts his mind to it he can pull of some really stupid (and often life-risking) stunts (it’s kind of his thing at this point.) It's hard to gain his full trust since he's afraid of being abandoned, but he's near-unshakably loyal (albeit still snarky) to those who do. He often twists the truth, partially out of egoism, partially for fun, and partially because the truth often hurts, and it's easier for him to pretend it never happened. He sees his powers as a curse (which, to be fair, they kind of are) and himself as a Dirty Coward. But DO NOT threaten the people he cares about. It will not end well.

Here's my entry for the RP! I modified a couple of items to make them fit in a RP narrative, as well as tie other things in with the game's lore. Please let me know if anything needs to be balanced or changed!

Home Universe: Enter the Gungeon

Name: Alexei Krylov; The Cosmonaut

Age: 28

Species: Human

Abilities:

  • Cosmonaut: A qualified Astronaut, Alexei is proficient in piloting and maintaining space craft

  • Gungeoneer: Years of venturing down the perilous Gungeon have forged Alexei into something much more than a simple cosmonaut. His physical strength and stamina have reached peak levels, and despite the bulky suit, he is able to react to and avoid gunfire by dodge rolling. Alexei can handle a multitude of different 'firearms with expert skill.

    • Although Alexei may have stepped out of the Gungeon, it's magic still has a firm hold over him; Alexi's suit always has a supply of bullets and fuel for his Makarov and jetpack, and every once in a while, he will find a new weapon from the Gungeon lying around for him to collect, a blank, or ammunition for his guns.

  • Jetpack: A component of Alexei's spacesuit, it was originally used to traverse through the vacuum of space, though the displaced explorer found himself using it to traverse the deadly pits scattered across the Gungeon. Allows him to fly in the air for 20 seconds before its fuel reserves are exhausted, and he must wait a 1 minute for it to recharge. When it is active, he cannot dodge roll to avoid attacks.

  • Loadout: Alexei is able to carry a maximum of 6 weapons(plus ammunition) with him at all times without having to discard another weapon. His current loadout consists of:

    • Makarov Pistol: The Cosmonaut's first weapon that he brought with him into the Gungeon; a standard 7-shot semi-automatic pistol. Completely normal in every aspect, save for the fact that Alexei never runs out of ammunition for it thanks to the magic of the Gungeon. He refuses to ever discard this weapon due to how much it has gotten him through.

    • Casey: A baseball bat capable of deflecting enemy projectiles. Unfortunately carries a curse with unknown effects.

    • Trick Gun: A gun that alternates forms between a Revolver and a Shotgun when reloading. In revolver form, its bullets ricochet off walls.

  • Blanks: Mystical bullets that nullify enemy attacks within a 20-foot radius, creating a momentary "safe zone". This effect only lasts 2 seconds, meaning that it is best used for saving oneself from surprise/unavoidable attacks. Alexei carries at least 2 blanks with him at all times, which replenish themselves every 24 hours if used.

Appearance: Towering at 6'3", Alexei is almost never seen out of his Spacesuit. The helmet's tinted visor heavily obscures his features to outside observers, painting an intimidating image to others when coupled with his height. Removing it reveals the face of a young man with short brown hair, blue eyes, pale skin and fair features. On occasion, Alexei's eyes gain a hollow quality to them, similar to soldiers who have seen far too much death.

Alignment: Neutral Good.

Backstory: Alexei grew up during the Space Race between the USA and USSR, and entered the Soviet Space Program to become a Cosmonaut. In 1970, Alexei was selected by the Soviet Crewed Lunar Program that was created in response to the success of Apollo 11, and was launched into space the following year. However, a malfunction in the navigation system sent Alexei's rocket off course, and into a mysterious wormhole that appeared out of nowhere, dumping him and his ship in the bizarre hellhole that is the Gungeon. With his craft destroyed, Alexei's only option was to venture into the Gungeon alongside a band of determined individuals and find the Gun that could Kill the Past, which might just allow him to return to Earth and prevent such a tragedy from occurring.

Personality: The years spent traversing the Gungeon have left an impact on Alexei. Unless he's in a place he knows is safe, Alexei tends to stay quiet and on alert, always keeping an eye out for trouble and his hand on or close to his trusty guns. He's also shockingly blase about death and the unusual, having seen- and killed -many bizarre creatures in his quest for the Gun that can Kill the Past. On the other hand, Alexei shows himself to be a friendly man underneath the intimidating helmet and trained paranoia, always happy to help a comrade out or learn something new about the world that seemed to have changed so much since his departure in the early 70's. He has also picked up a fascination with weapons and firearms, especially testing them out.

====

Note: The Cosmonaut is an unused character from the game that I decided to flesh out and repurpose for this RP.

  • Home Universe: An Earth full of superheroes, aliens, angels and demons. The type of place so dimensionally unstable that Isekai anime are more like a collection of geographical documentaries and supervillain attacks can almost be predicted like the weather.
  • Name: Jacqueline Leslie Bates, also known as Ash Phoenix (as she'll repeatedly insist on being called instead).
  • Age: 17
  • Species: Human (Esper)
  • Abilities:
    • Pyrokinesis: As one of the Phoenix lineage, Ash has the ability to secrete an inflammable gas substance from her pores and spark it alight at any point; able to manipulate the resulting flames according to her will for either purely destructive purposes or for relatively complex constructions. Her full range of power is enough to engulf her entire surrounding area (10 metres approx) in red hot flame, however she is precise enough to be able to limit this down to mere embers and hot crackles around her person. Her tutelage in the arts of manipulating flame enables her to create fiery, winged duplications of herself (the so-called "Phoenix" imagery that her family is famous for) as well as create basic weapons and tools for her usage—albeit limited by the fact they are entirely constructed with fire.
    • Pyrokinetic Physiology: The Bates family have adapted over the generations to their innate pyrokinetic powers, and as such they have been rendered completely fireproof. Their body temperature is at a constantly sweltering 110-127°F, which apart from being incredibly awkward for physical contact outside of relatives or fellow pyrokinetics who suffer from the same phenomenon it also makes Ash's actual fevers nearly unbearable to be around. Still, this makes them impervious to both low temperatures and high temperatures if they're smart about it—Ash is basically a walking oven, and anything less than the concentrated heat of cutting plasma can be shrugged off with only mild to moderate discomfort on her part.
    • CQC: Close-quarters combat is just as important to the Bates family as their pyrokinesis, as flames happen to be one of the most common and predictable superpowers in their homeworld. While occasionally assisted by her fire, Ash is perfectly capable of wrestling her opponents to the ground in quite a brutal and unforgiving display, utilizing her full body weight and muscular power in order to subdue her enemies with the odd broken bone or two added in for good measure. The only thing Ash lacks in this regard is grace—she fights more like a tank than the athlete she claims to be—and while that certainly has its place it comes with the disadvantage of making her somewhat predictable. Assuming she isn't relying on her own dirty tricks, of course.
  • Appearance: 5'6". Almost invariably dressed in semi-punkish attire. Fairly refined musculature underneath; years of combat training have made their mark. Often seen chewing a stick of gum. Lazy demeanour. Wears a fireproof, mildly bulletproof undersuit beneath her clothing—carrying a deep vantablack colouration with a bright orange mixed in for good measure.
  • Alignment: Chaotic Good. Has a keen moral sense but lacks the drive to really do anything unless something's literally happening right next to her.
  • Backstory: Ash is the latest of a line of powerful pyrokinetics, most usually with a history of superheroic activity but sometimes including more villainous individuals. The daughter of the previous Phoenix, Calvin Bates (who used the name "Magma Phoenix" before his retirement), Ash was expected to become enthusiastic for her legacy after the years of traditional training she'd underwent, but in actuality she instead became distant and reclusive despite the efforts of her father to bring her out of her shell. Eventually persuaded through a mixture of obligation and pity on behalf of him (as well as undisguised threats to her game system), Ash caved and started to pursue a heroic lifestyle to the best of her ability. Despite her efforts, though, Ash soon realised that although she was going out of her way to help people, all it was doing was exhausting her—the brief satisfaction she got from selflessness was ending up overpowered by her innate selfishness instead. Depressed by this, Ash cut down on her heroic escapades and began work on running a bar instead—though with her location being the hub of extranormal phenomenon, it was only a matter of time before a simple fluke ended up displacing her entirely from her homeworld.
  • Personality: A both laidback and feisty individual, "Ash" (as she tends to introduce herself as) is perhaps best described as a contradiction of many terms. Aloof yet outspoken, calculative yet brash, calm yet testy, Ash's distant manner tends to hide the very "eye for an eye" logic that drives her—which tends to explain her sporadic tendencies. While awful when it comes to considering the abstract, Ash is attentive more to the little details; an odd gait, a flicker of expression, or a misplaced item rarely escapes her notice and is usually called out by her soon after. Indeed, even she herself isn't immune to this objective observation—Ash has a deep self-awareness that becomes apparent in her deprecatory comments and hints of frustration she has towards her shortcomings; often expressing her dismay over her appearance and closed-off personality in the semi-joking tirades she tends to slip into from time to time. A surprising technician when she needs to be, Ash almost seems to have a perfectionist's mind when it comes to practical projects she is personally invested in—which is usually to do with mechanics, computers, and firearms specifically. Outwardly prickly and inwardly sensitive, Ash is easy to make acquaintance with yet difficult to get to know, however those who manage to withstand her blunt snipes will discover an incredible loyalty and strong sense of right and wrong beneath all that distinct lack of tact. Even if she has no idea how to show it.

Home Universe: An alternate version of Warrior Cats where the characters are Little Bit Beastly cat people, and the threats they face are scaled up to reflect this.

Name: Brightheart

Age: 21

Species: Cat-folk (cat-person)

Abilities: Brightheart’s senses are catlike, though for reasons that will become clear later, her vision leaves much to be desired. She is skilled at hunting and fighting.

Appearance: Brightheart is a petite, pale-skinned Cat Girl. Her hair is ginger with a white forelock. Her tail is also predominantly orange, but her ears are mostly white. She has catlike claws, slit pupils, and fangs.

Without a doubt, however, the most noticeable aspect of Brightheart’s appearance is the heavy facial scarring on the right side of her face. This side of her face is lined with scars and bite marks. Her right eye has been completely clawed out, the socket scratched and swollen shut. Her right ear is also shredded, and the scars cover her neck and right shoulder as well. Her remaining eye is green in color. It should also be noted that, in addition to obviously being blind on the side with the missing eye, she is also mostly deaf in that ear.

Alignment: Lawful Good

Backstory: Brightheart, then known as Brightpaw was one of four siblings, three of whom were training to become warriors. However, their leader, Bluestar, refused to grant Brightpaw, her brother Thornpaw, or any of the other apprentices their full warrior names, believing they could not be trusted because of her current paranoid state.

At the time, a pack of ravenous wolves was terrorizing Bluestar’s clan. One of the other apprentices, Swiftpaw, suggested that the apprentices work together to chase the wolves out of their camp. However, the encounter went much differently then planned. Swiftpaw was mauled to death by the wolves, while Brightpaw was seriously injured. She did not remember much of the battle due to a blow to the head leaving her unconscious for a portion of it, but she was severely traumatized by the event, occasionally still having nightmares.

When Brightpaw returned to the camp, Bluestar believed she would not survive the night, and so she granted her a new warrior name so that she could at least die with honor. That name was Lostface, which the young woman loathed, as it served as a cruel reminder of her current state. Other members of her Clan were repulsed by her facial disfigurement and avoided her.

One of the warriors who greatly cared for Lostface, Cloudtail, brought her back from the brink of death, believing he could still make a full warrior out of her. Eventually, she had proven herself quite well, and the new leader, Firestar, had her name changed to the much less cruel-sounding Brightheart. She and Cloudtail were later married and began to live a very fulfilling life together.

Personality: Brightheart is gentle, kind, and soft-spoken. However, her greatest flaw is her insecurity. Even before the accident that left her scarred, she often felt uncertainty- but now she also believes herself to be unattractive. She is patient but often jumps to conclusions. She's also quite sensitive and does not like to talk about her injuries.

Home Universe: Voltron - Legendary Defender

Name: Pidge Gunderson (AKA Katie Holt)

Age: 15

Species: Human

Abilities:

1. Pidge is a skilled hacker and mechanic; on multiple occasions she's hacked and reverse-engineered alien tech, and has even installed a working cloaking device on her Lion.

2. She's also the Paladin of the Green Lion, an 82-foot-tall lion-shaped mecha and one the most agile (but also the smallest and one of the most fragile save for a shield on its back) of the Voltron Lions. With it she can travel between solar systems in under a day, tear small ships apart, take impacts (though not very well), and, when combined with the other four Lions, can create Voltron, a robotic warrior capable of destroying entire fleets.

3. Alongside all this, she has high-tech armor that allows her to survive in hostile environments like space or the bottom of the ocean, and a bayard (a shapeshifting weapon) which takes the form of a short, triangular green blade that can also double as a grappling hook.

Appearance: Defender of the Universe

Alignment: Neutral good.

Backstory: Pidge (formerly Katie Holt) was just your ordinary girl from the future until her father and brother disappeared on a space mission and were declared dead. Believing the government was hiding something, she joined their space fleet, the Galaxy Garrison, under a new name to figure out the truth, but got more than she bargained for when her and her new friends stumbled upon the Blue Lion and ended up being roped into a fight against an intergalactic evil slowly advancing towards Earth.

Personality: Pidge is a tomboy with a fair amount of snark, who's generally easygoing, albeit socially awkward as she prefers her tech over actual human interaction. But don't make the mistake of thinking she's an easy target; she'll do anything to find her brother and father, and heaven help you if you hurt anyone she cares about. She occasionally slips into technobabble and gets annoyed when people mess with her stuff, but is otherwise an all-around good person, and (for a geek) is surprisingly good at making friends.

Let me know what I left out, what I should elaborate on, and what I should nerf. Also, I'm pretty sure I got the definition of "easygoing" wrong, but oh well. Point still stands.

Spottedleaf's 3rd character, Brightheart, has been carefully accepted! Reason: It sounded like care bears character, does it? Yep, it was.

Tigergrimm's 3rd character, Katie Holt has been granted access! Welcome to the Eclipse Data Vault!

15/15 character accepted. It's time, everyone! The roleplay will start, but i suggest you wait on the discord version first as it's faster. The forum version of the roleplay, will take not only longer, it will take me a few months of writing the beginning part. Because, once i am about to release this, the game may begin.

  • Home Universe: Pokemon
  • Name: Rayquaza
  • Age: Unknown, but quite old.
  • Species: Dragon Pokemon (Gijinka)
  • Abilities:
    • Rayquaza’s draconic nature makes her strong enough to toss around cars and lets her fly through the air very quickly. She can release a long-ranged purple and black energy beam from her mouth that packs a serious punch, and she can turn her hands into sharp claws when engaging in close combat. She can also perform a maneuver known as Dragon Dance that temporarily increases her speed and strength, but this makes her burn through her energy at an accelerated rate. She can’t use this whenever she wants or she’ll be too tired/famished to maintain it.
    • Lastly, she can tap into the power of meteroids within her body to transform into a gigantic, fully draconic form that pushes her strength to the limit. She tends to become more aggressive and violent in this form, and needs to revert back to her humanoid form after a while to ensure she accidentally cause collateral damage.
  • Appearance: Her typical appearance. When she’s in full dragon mode.
  • Alignment: Somewhere around Chaotic Good.
  • Backstory:

    • Rayquaza was created from a series of minerals hovering around the ozone layer. She came to be during a violent time in the world’s history, when Kyogre and Groudon – the masters of sea and land, respectively – were having a violent feud over control of the planet’s energy, a battle that threatened all life. She intervened in their fight, and managed to make them stop their feud. The world was in a state of relative peace for many years. Rayquaza then went back up into the sky for many years, content to stay there now that the world was safe.

    • Much later, however, something very strange happened - pokemon around the world, Rayquaza included, started gaining the abilities of humans. Sapience, human language, even the ability to take on human forms. This eventually started a rift between humans and pokemon. Some humans, fearing what these newly enlightened pokemon would do to them, started developing anti-Pokemon weaponry to combat them. Pokemon, meanwhile, started preparing an attack on the humans in order squash out whatever the humans were planning to do. Rayquaza once again used her considerable might to stop this conflict from brewing.

    • After that, Rayquaza eventually became an ambassador for pokemon-kind. She helped oversee the political relations between humans and pokemon, doing everything in her power to make sure the two sides were able to live in harmony. Once the worlds of the multiverse merged together, she knew things were about to become a lot more difficult for her.

  • Personality: Rayquaza is generally pretty calm and reasonable as far as Pokemon go, preferring to mediate conflicts before they spiral out of control when she can help it. That said, she is not afraid to throw her weight around when she believes force is necessary.

Rayquaza is approved and The RP is up. Point of order that Spottedleaf is a co-GM, but is, in practice, probably gonna be more active than me. I've got my own character to play after all!
