There's barely been any mention of this game on this site; in fact, the only mention so far is one I put down in Science Fantasy. Which is a shame, because it's about as over-the-top as it gets. It's a game where (with the expansions) robot maid wizards can fight alongside Kitsune warriors and an Ordinary High-School Student who stumbled on an ancient relic weapon.

(Whether they become a Battle Harem is up to you. It's your gaming table.)

Players play Godhunters: people (for varying definitions of "people") imbued with supernatural powers through shards of divine relics, who battle against the false gods called Aramitama: soul-stealing personifications of malice and self-destructive wishes. The game uses a flexible Class and Level System where each character picks an Ancestry (a racial splat), a main Style and a secondary Style. Styles are like a Character Class from D&D, but each is divided into two sub-styles. So, for example, there's Archslayer (weapon master) and Elder Mage (wizard), but more specifically, Archslayer A is an offensively-oriented combat powerset that enhances physical attacks and Elder Mage A focuses on big offensive spells, while Archslayer B focuses on defensive fighting and counterattacks and Elder Mage B on healing and support magics. And yes, Archslayer A/Elder Mage B is an entirely valid way to create The Paladin.

There's currently a Fan Translation out, and a translation team including the original fanslator have contracted with the Japanese developers to officially localize the game in English, as well as bringing in talent like Ewen Cluney of Maid RPG fame. They're running a Kickstarter to cover the costs.

Link to the Kickstarter, in case my spiel above gave you a burning desire to throw money at the translators.

Seems really interesting! Just backed it now; thanks for bringing it to my attention!

So I heard there was some kickstarter debacle, but run into this while browsing for new games, does anyone here know whether this is good one?

The kickstarter was mismanaged to the point of embezzlement. It was genuinely incompetence rather than malice (Amy Veeres had no idea what she was doing running a business), but there was still a pretty big feeding frenzy.

Anyway, it's a very good game, though the fan translation is better than the official one and has text translations (for game material) up to Supplement 10 and full-color translations of Supplements 1 and 2. It's structured somewhat differently from Western TRPGs, because it's designed around the assumption that you'll be playing it in a single mega-session when you and all your buddies can get a day off work together instead of a few hours every Thursday night.
