Hello. As the title of this thread implies, I'm thinking of writing a crossover between Shin Megami Tensei and High School Dx D. I got that idea from reading a crossover fanfiction between Devil Survivor 2 and previously mentioned High School Dx D. I think it's rather good if you were wondering, but fight scenes needs polishing (Author admitted it himself in the notes).
Anyway, I have a plan to combine High School Dx D universe with both Devil Survivor games, Shin Megami Tensei 4 & Apocalypse and Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha, with Devil Survivor 2 taking the center stage.
[Fair warning, the story is inspired by that fanfiction I mentioned.]
The story takes place after Record Breaker ending of Triangulum Arc. Although the world in no longer endangered by the Administrators, supernatural beings such as demons, angels and more still exist. And they might pose a threat to humanity. As a result, JP's exist even in this new world, maintaining its role as humanity's protectors, with Chiefs Yamato and Miyako Hotsuin at the helm. All Tamers from the previous world kept their memories of their previous world and some of their power and demons too [If it was a game, they would start at level 40 or so].
Recently, JP's attention was drawn towards Kuoh Academy for the increased demon activity. To prevent a second incident like Tokyo Lockdown 2 years prior, Yamato ordered Hibiki Kuze and his sister Miyako to investigate the mysterious activity in Kuoh and, if necessary, neutralize the threat before everything goes out of control. They would pose as new transfer students to infiltrate the academy. Due to the presence of Cult of Gaia, a demon worshiping cult, an additional Tamer was assigned to the investigation. It's a young summoner, who was trained in Kuzunoha village. His name is Shinji Ebihara, also known as the new Geirin Kuzunoha [What? You were expecting a new Raidou? Tough luck.]
On their first day of school, as if by fate, they all receive simultaneously an e-mail. From Nicaea. A Death Clip showing their fellow classmate, Hyoudou Issei, being killed by a skimpy dressed girl with black wings and a demon with a body of a mule and plumage of a peacock [Adramelech]. What was more worrisome, they saw two more corpses, a boy and a girl wearing Kuoh Academy uniforms. The boy had half-shaved medium length greenish brown hair [Nanashi] and a girl had shoulder length black hair and was wearing goggles [Asahi].
There was no time to waste. If they want to save these three, Hibiki, Miyako and Geirin must find the location of the Death Clip before sunset. But, little do they know, that a certain Irish deity is planning to make his move...
So, here's the synopsis of the crossover. I've been thinking on it for a while, hoping to turn it into something awesome.
I can assure you, that entire High School Dx D cast will appear and will remain (mostly) unchanged. But, due to the existence of SMT characters and their involvement in the plot, some of the events may go differently, for example mentioned above murder of Issei and Nanashi by Raynare and Adramelech. There are going to be new story arcs, one including Mastema's machinations and one about dealing with Fiends.
For now, here's the list of Shin Megami Tensei characters who will appear in the story (characters may be added later):
Shinji Ebihara - an original character, obviously. He's Geirin Kuzunoha the XXV, tasked with investigating demon activity in Kuoh Academy. Because of his training, he doesn't need Demon Summoning Program to summon demons, but he still uses it anyway for tactical reasons [Display of demons' affinities helps him a lot] and for his demons' comfort. He uses swords and guns when fighting demons. Personality-wise, he's a rather complex man. On one hand, he's a joyful man who loves to tease his allies, especially Miyako regarding her feelings towards Hibiki. On the other hand, he's a skilled Devil Summoner who takes his responsibilities as Geirin Kuzunoha seriously. Deep down, he feels insecure about his talents. His wish is to become a legend like the famous Raidou Kuzunoha the XIV. His main demons are Genma Kresnik and and Fairy Jack Frost, which he calls Frosty.
Hibiki Kuze - protagonist of Devil Survivor 2 and one of the strongest Demon Tamers aligned with JP's. Because of his age and experience with demons, he was chosen to investigate the demon activity in Kuoh Academy. His personality is close to the one depicted in the animation of De Su 2, but he still has his comedic streak from the games. He's well aware of Miyako's feelings towards him, but he waits until she admits it. In this story, Hibiki is Magic-oriented and always calls dibs on Holy Dance. His main demons are Tyrant Lucifer (in his Helel incarnation), Flight Suzaku and Avatar Baihu.
Miyako Hotsuin - a co-chief of JP's and formerly a Triangulum Cor Caroli. Like her brother, she can command Dragon Stream, but in a more creative way than her brother. She was chosen to investigate Kuoh Academy for the same reason as Hibiki. She is Tsundere, who can't admit her feelings for Hibiki. Shinji and Hibiki takes advantage of it to tease her to no end. Usually, they both end up being whipped by angry Miyako (mostly Shinji). Her main demons are Snake Feng Huang and Fairy Titania.
Yamato Hotsuin - a co-chief of JP's and the Big Good from Shin Megami Tensei side. Wanting to avoid second incident like Tokyo Lockdown [War of Bel], he sends Hibiki, Miyako and Geirin Kuzunoha to investigate Kuoh Academy. He will stop at nothing to protect mankind from supernatural threat. His main demons are Fallen Satan and Deity Baal.
Alcor - formerly Septentrione, currently a demi-human, Alcor is again responsible for creating Demon Summoning Program and Nicaea. This time, he had help creating the app. Naoya, the culprit behind Tokyo Lockdown (and savior of mankind), and Steven, a mysterious programmer bound to a wheelchair.
Steven - a programmer, who helped Alcor create Demon Summoning App. Due to a freak accident, Steven disappeared from the face of the earth... or so we thought. He appears from time to time, giving cryptic piece of advise or guiding those in desperate need.
Nanashi - 17-year old student from Kuoh Academy, who is known for his dry wit and for being one of the very few reasonable students at Kuoh. Like in canon, he was murdered by Adramelech and resurrected by Dagda. Thanks to Irish god's power, Nanashi can summon demons without Demon Summoning Program and is strong enough to rival even the strongest Longinus. His main demons are Genma Cu Chulainn and Deity Lugh.
Asahi - 17-year old student from Kuoh Academy and Nanashi's neighbor. She always wears her signature goggles. After the incident with Raynare and Adramelech, Geirin Kuzunoha gave her Demon Summoning Program and decided to teach her. Her first demons are Fairy Pixie and Ghost Poltergeist. She will improve her demon list as the story progresses.
Dagda - Irish god and leader of Tuatha De Danann. He resurrected Nanashi by forming a contract with him. With YHVH and SMT!Lucifer nowhere in sight, what is Dagda's main objective?
Hallelujah - a student of Kuoh Academy and a member of Occult Research Club. Nanashi and Asahi's classmate. He's a son of Fallen Angel Samyaza, making him Human/Fallen Angel hybrid. He's rather timid, but can be quite vocal when pushed. He'll receive an Adaptational Badass moment when he'll additionally learn True Ziodyne and True Zandyne. His main demon is Holy Chironnupu.
Toki - a 17 year old transfer student, secretly an assassin of Cult of Gaia. She'll start out as an antagonist, who will in time defect to the heroes' side. Unlike other characters, she doesn't summon any demons to fight alongside her. She doesn't need them. In this timeline, Toki's mother is Kaga, one of the higher ranking members of Cult of Gaia.
Flynn - a Demon Tamer who got involved in Tokyo Lockdown. Due to his heroic and selfless acts during the lockdown, he earned the nickname "Hope Bringer" from the survivors. Yamato personally approached him and recruited him in JP's. He's the only Human Demon Tamer so far who's possibly stronger than Hibiki. His main demons are Hero Masakado and Deity Asura.
Isabeau - Flynn's comrade and fellow survivor of Tokyo Lockdown. Her heroic exploits alongside Flynn earned her a spot inside JP's. She gets along pretty well with Makoto Sato. Her main demons are Hero Joanna D'Arc and Femmel Kali.
Walter - Former member of JP's, who used to be a mole inside Shomonkai during Tokyo Lockdown. After everything was said and done, Walter's faith in JP's wavered and eventually left the organization. Years later, he joined Cult of Gaea. His main demons are Tyrant Astaroth and Kishin Bishamonten.
Jonathan - A high ranking Catholic Church exorcist with the privilege to use Demon Summoning Program. Like Flynn, Isabeau and Walter, he too was involved with Tokyo Lockdown. His main demons are Divine Sandalphon and Megami Pallas Athena.
