As a reminder, Guess Who starts airing on Cartoon Network tomorrow (July 8th), at a reasonable 10:30 am EST.

I just noticed that not only is the next episode featuring Wanda Sykes, but it takes place in Peebles Pet Shop. I wonder if we're going to see Magilla, or if it's just a reference.

[up] Apparently Magilla does indeed appear. So it looks like we're not only getting Celebrity Guest-Stars for this show, but other Hanna-Barbera characters as well. Can we get Blue Falcon & Dynomutt or Frankenstein Jr. in a future episode please?

I both applaud and dislike the fact that the Big Bad was Mr. Peebles himself; on the one hand, good for this show for having the guts to make a historic Hanna-Barbara Character a bad guy, but on the other hand, it does stink that it's Mr. Peebles who's the bad guy, and his reasoning, while logical, just kind of feels out of character. Still I thought this Episode was better then the Ghost Abraham Lincoln Episode, and Wanda Sykes had a lot of great moments.

Overall, this show is definitely one of the funniest Scooby Doo series. If they gave the show a better budget (you can tell when they cut corners, especially with the Ghost Abraham Lincoln Episode), I'd say this would be on par with What's New Scooby Doo (which I put just underneath Mystery Inc.).

Even given that this show's only been around for a few weeks, I think the Sherlock Holmes episode is the best one so far. Love the way they did Sherlock himself, plus Shaggy and Velma were fun through the whole thing.

[up] Considering that Season 1 seems to have only 13 episodes, that'd mean this show was renewed for 4 seasons.

Or maybe it was planned from the start to have 52 episodes.

This show keeps getting better. The Wonder Woman episode was maybe the best yet: they got a lot out of it, and surprisingly Wonder Woman got time to interact with with pretty much everybody. Even Fred, for a little bit. Even had a heartfelt moment or two.

Got to hand it to Villainous Valor, though. I'd think "Wonder Woman bought it and so is trying to kill me" would be a strong "abandon scheme" sign, but the minortaur kept on going.

There actually being an Urkel episode of this show is so weird. Like, did someone write this way back in the 90's and then stubbornly hold onto it ever since? Did Jaleel White know one of the people in charge of the show? Just... buh?

Hell, the episode almost feels like a backdoor pilot for a Urkel show. He kind of takes over the whole thing, and the gang has comparatively little to do but react. And without a decent foil, he's a lot less funny than he was twenty years ago... and he wasn't all that funny back then, either.

That said, the episode's punchline was great.

Also, funny enough, this is the first episode with an actual followable mystery. I mean, it's a really easy, super simple mystery, but all the clues actually mean something and they legit add up and everything.

[up] He's definitely one of the more bizarre Guest Star choices. Other than potential Nostalgia Filter, the only thing I can think of for why he was included is because Jaleel White had stated on Twitter that being in a Scooby-Doo show was one of his bucket list items (And he even has a signed Scooby-Doo animation cel).

His appearance at least makes me hopeful for other older Sitcom characters making it into the show, like The Brady Bunch (Particularly the movie versions).

They took the show off Cartoon Network on Demand and I can't find it on Boomerang's schedule either.

Here's a sneak peek at Sia's episode. I can tell I will like this .

So, I think Sia is up there with Ricky Gervais and Penn and Teller as my favorite celebrity guest star thus far. A lot of personality.

Weirdest thing about the episode: instead of sleeping like they usually do (with the girls in one room and the boys in another), in Sia's house Shaggy / Scooby and Velma sleep in one room, and Fred and Daphne sleep in another.

And unlike Shaggy / Scooby and Velma, we only see the one bed in Fred and Daphne's room.

Er...

So, a Kenan Thompson episode. #1 disappointment: they didn't get Kel to play the monster. Though he and Kenan aren't so close any more, so that makes sense.

That said, there is a character who seems... almost based on Kel, at least conceptually (not entirely, since the character is a woman). She's Kenan's "acting parter" from when they were kids, with a noticeably wilder comedic style.

The Batman episode finally does a thing Scooby crossovers have needed to for ages: tailor the "monster" to the thing they're crossing over with: like the preview implies, it seems to be Man-Bat but isn't. Like, it's still baffling that - say - the WWE crossover didn't have the "monster" be someone pretending to be Undertaker, or the Boogeyman or something that wasn't stupid and generic.

Also, can Alfred canonically be Daphne's honorary uncle in everything from now on? Because that's just precious.

There's a lot of jokes at Batman's expense in this one, too. Very fun.

And I've got to say, hearing the Joker - let alone Mark Hamill as the Joker - deliver the classic "and I would've gotten away with it" line is gold.

Well the show ended Thursday. Over all, Scooby Doo and Guess Who? is pretty fun and funny all around, although I feel the animation needs some work (minor errors like the mouths don't move, repeated animation, lazy overlays). Here's hoping Season 2 will improve the animation greatly, as it's the only real complaint I have with it. I'd give SDaGW a 7/10.

I'd say the best Episode was the Wanda Sykes episode, not just because the episode in general was funny, and had a real crime to solve, but also for taking the chance and making Mr. Peebles the bad guy, with the worst Episode being Abraham Lincoln's Ghost who was really the Funky Phantom.

[up] I figured that the lower quality animation was done on purpose resonant the style of the classic cartoons, though at times it did give me some difficulty trying to figure out which mistake were legitimate and which were intentional lol.

...Don't know why they brought back Steve Urkel of all characters (not sure if that was actually Jaleel White playing him or not) but seeing Fred drop to his knees and curse Urkel's name while the Mystery Machine burns just a few feet behind him is on the list of things I never thought I see.

For that alone, I tip my hat.
