Suggestion: Imagine Spot

The current picture isn't terrible per se, but it has a few issues, notably of being read right to left, which we try to avoid (even though there's an arrow in this case). Not to mention it isn't very clear about what's going on, and with lots of untranslated onomatopoeia.

It could be replaced for example by [1] (with the demotivator border removed, of course).

It's also a whole tag on Derpibooru, meaning you can find some good ones here, like [2] or [3].

I do have a preference for #2, myself.

Just doing a flip job of current shouldn't be too hard considering the layout.

It's much less busy (focusing on just one character rather than four); the cloudy white border around the second image makes it immediately obvious as something being imagined (the thought bubble isn't as immediately obvious in current); and it's also clear why he's imaging something (the context of him holding a gun ad in reality, compared with him holding the actual gun in imagination).

I don't even like A Christmas Story, and I think it works best of all the suggestions so far.

The thought crossed my mind that my suggestion might look better if I reversed the images so that Ralphie is looking up at the imagined scene.

I also think 9.4 is a good option.

I think serious examples might be better to start with, such that the Mood Whiplash on reading the examples will be dramatic to comedic, rather than the other way around.
