The Mother Brain suggestion is just as goofy, if not more so. Lateral change imo.

If the "goofiness factor" is a lateral move, then at least showing off the entire form (instead of awkwardly cutting off her lower legs) should make it a minor improvement.
It's admittedly hard to find a decent official image of Super Metroid Mother Brain that doesn't have some inherent goofy camp factor to it... I suppose it's the design that looks like it's right out of an old cheesy sci-fi B-movie. Still, I think current's "Huh, what's that over there?" expression doesn't do the character as much justice as 1.1's "I'm looking right at you and I'm going to eat your face!" expression.

Doesn't really look blurry to me. Just looks like it has an art style with much thinner lines, compared to current's more comic book-like thick lines. And I still argue that, by showing the whole body (instead of just awkwardly cutting off the lower legs), it can't be a straight downgrade.
Like so? This was the best quality I could find.
The one problem is that most other characters use artwork (where available) instead of in-game screenshots. Since we do have at least two pieces of official artwork for Mother Brain's final form, it would be more consistent if we used one of those instead of her in-game sprite.
Still, I wonder if a crowner could be hooked. Like the one for The Last Jedi subpages
, it would be a double-crowner covering both Mother Brain and Torizo. At the very least, there is support for using one of the Torizo suggestions, even if Mother Brain is contested... but since there are multiple suggestions for each (plus the current images), a crowner would be the best way to resolve this matter.

Well, I went ahead and attempted to start a crowner for this thread... unfortunately, it just so happens to be in the middle of this website update that apparently broke the code for linking to a URL in a crowner.
So, while this thread currently has a clock set, I'd appreciate it if it wasn't closed until after the crowner was fixed and people got the chance to vote.

No, not yet...I'm hoping to hear some news on that early next week, the admins are supposed to be working on a batch of priority fixes and I believe crowners are part of that.
If we can get some kind of consensus on this without needing to go to a crowner, that's fine.

- Torizo: 1.3 > 1.4 > 1.2 > Current
And the current tally, not counting "lateral" comments (since they don't express a strong opinion for either 1.1 or Current):
- Mother Brain: 11 (2) > 1.1 (1) = Current (1)
- Torizo: 1.3 (2) > 1.2 (0) = 1.4 (0) = Current (0)

to the first Torizo (transparent background that is). If you are worried about size, you can shrink it (I've done that with several images before).
As for Mother Brain, it has been very difficult to find a picture that I like (and is transparent). Any Mother Brain image is fine as long as it's transparent and clear to see.
On a related note: Should Mother Brain's tropes be divided into two folders now?

Now that I see them with transparent backgrounds, I'll change my Torizo vote from 1.3 to 20.2. The dynamic pose looks much cooler without the ugly background now!

For Metroid - Mother Brain, the current image of her final form from Super Metroid (seen by clicking the text below her Zero Mission image) is at a rather awkward angle (making her look a little goofy, though YMMV) and doesn't show off her entire form. This suggestion aims to fix both of those problems.
For Metroid - The Chozo, the current image of Torizo Statues has a rather poor pose, where a significant portion of the statue's face and torso is hidden by its left arm and hand. Additionally, the artwork is colored red, which doesn't really represent how Torizo appears in-game. I have two full-body suggestions, but if they don't look good at wiki sizenote , I also have a third suggestion of the Torizo from the torso up.
Additionally, Metroid - Ridley could potentially be improved by having Zero Mission Ridley (top) as the main image and hiding Meta Ridley (bottom) in clickable text, just like what we're currently doing with Mother Brain.
Any thoughts?
