This was opened without mod comment. I'd just like to add that this seems both straightforward and easy to deal with. Enough thumbs up, and we can just move the pages, and free up a repair-shop slot.
I will, of course, volunteer to do all the grunt work if everyone agrees. Not that there's a lot of grunt work required...
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.I realize that we need the easy fixes, but I don't see how these pages are Useful Notes material. To me these pages are more like Plot and more pertinently Camera Tropes storytelling devices.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanChord Progression is set up a bit that way, and has subtropes, so I'd agree with you about that one—but I already removed it from the list. The others, even if they could in theory be similar, are not. They are just technical notes. Not "how can you take advantage of a camera to further your storytelling", but "what are the parts of a camera". Not "how do pitch and harmony affect the feel of the music", but "how do different notes on the scale harmonize".
I mean, there is another option. We could take the information we have, and move it to a page called UsefulNotes.Music Theory, and then re-write the existing pages to be about how these musical elements are used to convey moods and feelings. That would be interesting...but beyond my skill. I know a little about composition, and a few of the basics (minor chords are considered melancholy, subtle disharmonies can add tension, etc.), but not enough to volunteer to do the rewrite this would demand. Unless someone is willing to step up to the plate, I don't think this option is realistic right now.
(And of course, now I note that we already have a page for UsefulNotes.Music Theory, which covers all of the above, so maybe these pages are just redundant. I'm not sure.)

Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee. In that case, convert the pages to redirect to that page?
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportSounds like a good option, except...cross-namespace redirects?

Ok, I'm not sure this is the right way to do this, but I just found a clump of should-be-useful-note pages about music. All of them provide technical explanations of their topics, and have nothing about significance, meaning, or other "trope-y" issues. All of them are example-free. I didn't want to make five separate threads, though, and they're all somewhat related, so I'm nominating all five to be made into useful notes in one fell swoop.
The five are:
If people object to dealing with all five as a batch, we can do them one at a time, but it seems unnecessarily bureaucratic. I'm pretty sure these are all straightforward.
All of them are currently listed on the Music Tropes page. I think it's probably reasonable to keep them there, but possibly move them to a "Useful Notes" folder. Not sure whether they should remain indexed.
ETA: Whoops, I got confused. Chord Progression is an index, and doesn't belong here. I've removed it from the list and retitled the thread.
