Kirby Star Allies SPOILER Thread

I've decided to open up a Spoiler Thread for the upcoming Kirby Star Allies, so we can talk about any leaks or late-game stuff without bothering the main Kirby thread.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: THIS THREAD WILL CONTAIN UNMARKED SPOILERS! IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE SPOILED ABOUT STAR ALLIES, PLEASE AVOID THIS THREAD!

With that out of the way, this video showcases Bandana Waddle Dee on the Title Screen...with an Alternate Palette and his spear imbued with the Fire ability, giving off hints that he might be playable.

The demo has been datamined, and so information about the full game has been leaking like crazy.

While I think it would be alright to talk about them here, I want to make some things clear; Do NOT talk about any of this stuff on any other forum besides here! There are people who are looking forward to the game like you, but they don't want to be spoiled about it. Don't share this information with anyone unless they are as un-bothered about spoilers as you are.

I would also like to suggest that we put a bit of an edit embargo on the Star Allies page due to these leaked spoilers. You can still edit things like spelling errors or adding about stuff already revealed, but don't add anything involving this stuff. I think March 20th would be a good date to lift the embargo.

Post-game content looks to be pretty strong, and its only right that Bandana Dee finally gets his chance at the spotlight.

Also interesting that the series sees to slowly be expanding its in game lore. Hints of that was always there via Dark Matter, Zero, Nova, etc but the recent games seem keen on connecting various elements.

The arena having various levels of difficulty is fucking bananas.

Anyway yeah, I do like how The Arena (or how it's apparently referred to here, The Ultimate Choice) has multiple difficulties this time around, as well as allows you to continue even if you die.

What I'm most excited about is that the fourth world is basically Milky Way Wishes, with us going on an intergalactic adventure just like I predicted.

I'm honestly surprised that Iron Mam actually came back (This time as Grand Mam), and we finally have a name for the yellow Jambastion mage; It's Zan Partizanne.

There is also mention of a "Morpho Knight", and he seems to be a butterfly knight. Could it be...?◊

Star Allies's street date has been broken, and as such the game is starting to leak. What I wanna talk about however are things officially revealed by a review. In GameXplain's review of the game, Derrick brought up the two side modes that are unlocked after beating the game; One is the "Ultimate Choice", and the other is a Time Attack-like mode where you can play as any of the friends. Here's a look at Ultimate Choice on it's hardest difficulty, Soul Melter.

Well, it's official. Zan Partizanne is the yellow Jambastion Mage's name.

We finally have an official look at the fight against Grand Mam, and man does she look fun.

Should we add the three Jambastion mages to the Kirby villains page? There might be more villains in Star Allies, but I believe it is okay to currently add the trio (or at least begin adding some entries for them) since they've already been revealed by both official material and media outlets.

You can if you want, I'd just avoid talking about anything spoiler-y until March 20th.

Kirby=Dark Matter theory confirmed?

Void Termina becoming Dark Matter at the end reminds me of Star Dream being revealed as a Galactic Nova in Planet Robobot.

So, apparently the Helpers have their own descriptions and quotes. Presumably, these are used in the Extra Mode since a lot of them would make no sense otherwise. Things that I've learned so far:

• Wester is a treasure hunter.
• Driblee's female and she cares deeply for the environment.
• Buggzy's old enough to be retired. He's given his "King of Insects" crown to Beetley.
• Blade Knight wants to be just like his idol. I'd say his idol is Meta Knight, but it might be Kirby.
• Vividria's quote mentions her "sisters". Take this however you want.

There's more stuff, but this is all I can remember off the top of my head.

Void Termina is an eldritch god with some obvious relation to Dark M Worlds . During the first and third phases of the boss fight it is seen using various copy abilities, from sword ( 20:31), to an ax, and even transforming into a bird. It even uses the master crown at one point to shoot lasers. when it gets knocked down, it sucks you into it's body with a very familiar sound effect (21:16). Also listen to the sound it makes when it transforms into a bird(22:04). Sound like a familiar cry we've heard throughout the game? When you uncover its true form, it's face is almost exactly like that of a certain pink puff ball. (also it looks like dark matter sometimes, but everyone noticed that) And to top it all off, the theme of "Void Soul" is a dark remix of Green greens; the song that is for all intense and purposes, Kirby's theme

Conclusion: Kirby is either an offshoot of or actually related to an eldritch abomination.

Maybe those jokes of Kirby being a mass murder weren't that far off after all."

I really wish that guy on YT would STOP putting the final boss in every thumbnail. Lucky enough I don't care about spoilers at this point but it makes it really hard for my friends that like the game to not get spoiled.

Considering how many references, much more overt this time around, there are to previous final bosses for Void Termina, their's definitely one missing thats pretty crucial...

Huh. According to the Kirby character page, Hyness is voiced by Shigeru Chiba, voice actor of Kefka and Buggy.

...That's a really good choice of voice actor.

So is it just me or were these bosses really sucky and easy with four players

Return To Dreamlands bosses aren't that much more difficult with 4 players.

You can solo run the Ultimate Choice this time round, though.

Just got the game today. Looking forward to playing it when I have time.

I beat the game just a little while ago, and I have to say, the game feels very disappointing compared to Planet Robobot and Return to Dreamland. I'd actually have to rank it as one of the weaker Kirby games alongside Squeak Squad. It started off good, but fell apart by the second half/final world in my opinion. The gameplay got repetitive and the Return to Dreamland formula is becoming stale, the game is too short, the difficulty was dumbed down a bit too much, and they recycled too many bosses and stage themes in the final world. Void Termina, while disturbing and uncanny as heck, is way too easy and it's attack patterns are incredibly predictable and easy to avoid, though after Star Dream I kinda welcomed an easy final boss. I don't think Hyness is as good a villain as Magolor, Queen Sectonia or Haltmann, either. He's crazy and looks like something straight out of Wario World, but lacks personality and his backstory isn't as interesting as Haltmann's.
