It inspires zero confidence.
Get ready for Lex and Lois Will They or Won't They? and Jimmy Olsen love triangle as young Manchester Black played by Zayn Malik goes on a insipid road to evel.
God I hate Gotham.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."First I thought this was set in the DCEU. Than I read it's supposed to be a companion series to Gotham.
My interest instantly vanished.

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!Unless it's Dakota City, I'm not interested.
Where there's life, there's hope.Actually a show about the Amazons before Diana's birth isn't a bad idea. The Amazons are kind of heroes of another story.
Welp.
From Warner Bros. Television and DC Entertainment, the series–titled “Metropolis”– is set in the famous comic book city before the arrival of Superman.
Make a show about the "setting" and the "origins" of the hero and their supporting cast, (Gotham Agents of Shield, Krypton), and let the big pockets in Hollywood deal with the superhero team-ups and the solo films.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Do you think the thing about Luthor will be that he was evil all along, or he will turn evil on the show?
Wake me up at your own risk. It's Lex. He'll be Evil All Along.
You fell victim to one of the classic blunders! It wasn't - everything Lex did prior to the memory wipe defined his antagonistic relationship with Clark, and the things he did moments before created the pavement for Lex to become a power-hungry, unfettered businessman.
It's one of the few things about Smallville Lex I actually liked.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Just. Make. A. Superman. Show. DC. Goddammit.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult. You guys realise there have been at least four Superman tv shows right?
That was the context of my joke.
Lois and Clark, but that was some schmaltzy, low-budget romantic comedy. Smallville, but that was about Clark Kent before he became Superman. Supergirl, which only features him tangentially. And I suppose there was also Adventures of Superboy, and that was pure camp.
They've avoided doing a modern Superman show probably because of Man of Steel.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Smallville and Lois& Clark are still about Superman. There is also Adventures of Superboy, The Superman cartoon from the 80s, Superman: TAS and Legion of Superheroes.
Agents of Shield is an entirely different animal. After all, Agents of Shield is a comic book series in its own right.
Anyway, this doesn't really sound good. It sounds like a generic idea they combined with a popular franchise name. Gotham had more going for it concept wise.
Isn't it odd that WB pretty much removes the supporting cast from the movies, but then goes and builds TV shows around them?
If by remove you mean actually uses them?
Seriously, did you even need to mention the movies other than as a reason to get a dig at them?
What dig? That they don't really use much of the supporting cast is in itself a neutral statement. It's neither good or bad in itself. I just made the general observation. Granted, I do think that it is kind of comical that they focus so much on the heroes and the villains in their movies, that there is scant room for the supporting case, but then they go and built their TV shows all around the supporting cast to a degree that there is sometimes the supporting cast without the actual hero.
Eh, Lois Lane and Martha Kent get a good amount of screentime. Then again, TV shows are better mediums for stories with a lot of characters compared to movies
which tv shows prior to this one are built around the supporting casts and ignore the heroes?

Gotham, Powerless and this planet Krypton show (when was this suppose to air?). It seems to be a trend for the Non-CW Networks...though I guess most of them also fit into the prequel trend which started with Smallville.

(7) I think they were referring to live-action TV adaptions that are primarily about Superman. My assumption is that they want a Supergirl type of show, but with Superman as the lead, not Clark Kent, not a Superman who is narratively inhibited - Lois and Clark focuses on a relationship, and doesn't really count because that's "teen Superman," he's not a mild-mannered reporter or dealing with mild-mannered reporter problems.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!I'd watch the hell out of a CW-Superman spin-off. Totally love Tyler Hoechlin in the role.

From Warner Bros. Television and DC Entertainment, the series–titled “Metropolis”– is set in the famous comic book city before the arrival of Superman. It will follow Lois Lane and Lex Luthor as they investigate the world of fringe science and expose the city’s dark and bizarre secrets. It has received an order for a 13 episode first season and will go into production later this year for a debut on the service in 2019.
The project was previously under consideration at Fox, where it would have served as a companion to “Gotham,” the drama about Gotham City before the arrival of Batman.

Didn't see this coming. It is nice to focus on other characters within the Superman mythos besides Superman himself. Though it being made by the guys behind Gotham doesn't inspire too much confidence.
