A college dropout still was a student at some point of his life. Whether Leon succeeded in making her an assassin is irrelevant, he still trained her. And the fact that both images show a man and a child doesn't mean that they are the same. The child is clinging to Snake, who is protecting her. Leon, on the other hand, shows Matilda how to handle a firearm, the image actually depicts the teaching process, which is more than what can be said about the Star Wars suggestions.

Thanks, it's hooked.
Votes bump; two in the green, one in consensus range.
Time to call this one. The pic's up and tagged, but needs to be added to the page as an example.
Caption?
Why a link to hypocrite? I haven't seen the movie in a long time but he never crossed that line that I remember. No women, no kids is a large part of why he decided to get involved and help Mathilda even though he didn't really have a sense of normal or how to deal with kids.
How about...
Mathilda: Is life always this hard, or is it just when you're a kid? Léon: Always like this.
This signature says something else when you aren't looking at it.I thought that the fact that he seems to have no qualms about teaching a little girl to kill is a bit inconsistent.
Anyway, I like your suggestion more than mine. Shows the "mentorship" part of the trope.

Nominations for replacement images:
The second Leon/Mathilda pic is lacking in "team", the first one is a contender but I'm personally unsure if it's better than Kanan/Erza.
