Mixing civilization thread

Hi everyone, I decide since using expy for every specific culture is a little bit to boring, Im going to mix and max culture here and there in order to make them more unique.

But thing is, there is a lot so I prefer to here recomendation about it.

For example right now Im deciding creating a civilization based on the aztec and egyptian culture: both are heavy on religion and ritual, in this culture their workship two serpent: one of life(who will be the quezacoatl expy) and the death serpent(and Aphosis expy) one is given sacrifice with blood rituales and the other overseer mummyfication.

Im thinking on creating another culture mixing indian and Japanise culture, maybe chinise and russian? I dont really know.

So, what culture do you recomend mixing and why?

Anyways, If you're going for Rule of Cool, I'd recommend a tiny bit of imperial China (just a taste). If you're going for Rule of Scary (probably for the serpent of destruction), I'd recommend a wee bit of imperial Rome with a slathering of various tribal cultures (mostly for the Warpaint, tattoos, and other crazy stuff). No matter what you're going for, maybe a little bit of Incan or Mayan would help.

I was thinking about making a mixup of Sasanid and Byzantine culture.
