Why isn't 'broken Base' flamebait? And why isn't Fandom Heresy YMMV?

A divided fanbase is worse than a united one, so why is it that broken base isn't a flamebait, as people can take it as an insult to that work directed, MORE than fandom heresy (united fanbase).

Fandom Heresy and Broken Base are both Audience Reactions, because they represent what fans think about a work (and/or each other) rather than anything present in the work itself. In both cases, we are documenting the fact that these things occur; we are not importing the arguments and trying to persuade anybody of anything — except, perhaps, to demonstrate how silly most of them are.

Fandom Heresy is listed as "no examples, please", presumably because it is one of those things that truly is pointless to mention. In any fandom, there are things that one can say that will garner instant scorn from the majority, and there would be no point in putting them here on our wiki because then they would trigger those same arguments again.

Broken Base has been curated to a significant extent by our users, and it does have a concrete definition in that it's supposed to be about intractable arguments that truly split a fan base: there's no room for any middle ground and just about everyone has picked a side. Because it attracts so much drama importation, we have a dedicated cleanup thread.

Because it was decided that it could be managed by the community. We make decisions organically here, as issues arise, and not every similar issue is going to be given the same treatment simply by virtue of different people voting at different times.

Do you have anything constructive to contribute or are you just concern trolling?
