^ But the trope is still in play, as they didn't call him King of Darkness.
Not to play devil's advocat, but it's a little bit incomplete to play this trope straight.
"Dracula, Prince of Darkness" could easily mean 'Dracula is the son/heir/herald of the darkness' or even just 'Dracula is a nobleman in/from the darkness' rather than 'Dracula rules the darkness'.
PS: May I propose a crowner to make the election process easier? (I don't know how to do crowners)

Not a fan of visual puns. No pic for now.

Probably the most sensical thing for now.
My inclination is probably visual pun or bust, unless we find something where a character is clearly a) performing duties they could only perform if they were the actual ruler and b) identified as a "princess". MLP could actually work for that, just not the image that got pulled.
So... crowner?
this? Its only Boss Subtitles really the best I could find and a Principality is literally this trope, country ruled by a prince or princess.
Err well its not exactly boss subtitles but whatever trope that uses those subtitles to introduce or reintroduce characters without having to outright explain it.
Count me in favor of one of the visual puns, pending anything better. Not too picky on which one; any of the three options would be better than leaving it blank, to me.
Moon◊Eh, let's gather more options first.
MLP:FIM... now, that's actually not a bad idea!
There's got to be images of Luna, Celestia, Cadence or Twilight coming across as in charge. I'm not yet sure what to go for; or whether or not those are even the best ones; but by no means do we have enough for a crowner.
Also, I'm pretty busy over the next few days, so there might be better examples I'm currently missing.
But judging by those MLP pictures alone, they could just as easily be empresses or duchesses or frickin' margraves. Pictures are needed that explicitly show that they're in charge and that they are princesses rather than any other status.
I think the relevant caption is somewhat drowned out by all the other ones. I literally need a a couple of seconds to see what I needed to see.

The Disney princesses in the visual pun are only distinguished from being queens by recognizability. There's going to be limitations in expressing this visually either way.
Well, the last Visual Pun actually has "Disney Princesses" written on it more or less prominently. Though I'm ready to admit it's still not a perfect choice.

None of those are actually examples of the trope so it is a bad pun and extreme misuse of the trope.

No pic.
Where there's life, there's hope."Disney princesses" is only actually written outright on the ruler in the diagonal version of the visual pun; the version with a lot of blank space within the image. The vertical version of the visual pun does not have "Disney princesses" written on it.
Another option; what about Princess Principal?
I'm not even sure whether or not it's an example, as I literally just heard about it at an anime club meeting a few hours ago, but judging by the title and the poses of the characters, it looks like one. Does anyone recognize this show and/or whether or not it's an example?
I'm three episodes into that show and... it's not. Not that the image particularly looks like it, "princess principal" could just be a wordplay thing, and none of the girls look like they're doing things expected of a ruling monarch.
Going to vote 'no pic for now.' Not particularly fond of the visual pun images either.
Clock is set.
Clock's up; locking for lack of consensus beyond the pull.
I know what you mean, but isn't Dracula technically a count?
The title here doesn't seem to make him a literal prince; it's more of a metaphorical nickname.
