Tyranid Clean-up Crew, Coco's Cave

Having finished cleaning up the basement off rats and collected the remuneration from the university, the Chevy van rolled through the city. There was something else that Monica had to deal with today. Apparently, the Mayor invited her over to her place. The reasons the blonde was unaware of. Of course, she assumed that inviting her meant her Tyranid friend was also being invited.

As such, Monica parked the van nearby the neat penthouse and stretched a little once she left it, Swarmlord prowling behind her without a word. The bounty from the rat cleaning was vast; plenty of rats were corraled right into its maw. Now it was time to taste more dignified foods; plus the blonde - who did not have rat - was famished.

With the giant bug behind her, she knocked at the door.

Coco’s Penthouse, Phone Call

“Mr. Benson here seems to think the latter. He said the exoskeleton was much smaller compared to their prototypes, and they’d wouldn’t have much reason to make models that size. Me, I can’t quite say, but I get the feeling he’s not telling us the whole story.

“Anyway, if this stuff was Clowns, we wouldn’t be able to interface with it. I don’t even know why they would need something like this, or why they would go out of their way to make something like this, but Clowns are kinda unpredictable that way.”

Coco’s Penthouse, With the Others

Victoria seemed to listen as Shalltear and Ainz spoke. When the door knocked, she looked over towards the Mayor’s general direction, though she seemed to be occupied.

Her eyes then turned towards Jaroline.

Garrus: Coco's Party

"Uh-huh. Fills me with confidence. In fact, is that why you have a broken wrist right now?" replied back Garrus to Jaroline's declaration that she wouldn't push herself too far. Next, he nodded at Ainz and his helper, giving them a greeting of, "Nice to see you Ainz. How's the library? Not many troublesome kids throwing toilet paper at it anymore? Because I would be happy to book any of them........again," and then he gave his opinion of the military, saying firmly and honestly, "Low-tech, not the most disciplined, could use some Turian training but I worked with human soldiers quite a bit. If even one of those army-men are half of the ones I know, well, then I'm sure we'll be fine."

Speaking of quality people serving, he tapped Tira on the shoulder and quietly explained to her, "By the way, could we talk later after the party? I have a offer for you that I think both you and Miss Sunshine would like."

Tira (Coco's Penthouse)-Maybe Coco should have stepped out of the room before discussing confidential military secrets

With Tira not being busy, she turned an ear to Coco's phone as it rang, catching a glimpse of the caller ID. She could only hear Coco's side of the conversation, but what she did hear was interesting. Not 5 minutes after a mysterious stranger enters the military base, one of them is calling the mayor to discuss something about Stockmann and the clowns? It would seem she had figured out, at the very least, who sent the man.

Further thoughts were interrupted as Garrus said something to her, and she turned to him, all smiles. Oh, but I'm not really busy Gary, we can talk right now if you want! Oh, do you have a surprise for me? I really like surprises!

"... Maybe." She responded to Garus. To be fair, she thought, it wasn't that far.

Jaroline heard a knock on the door, and went to open it.

"Hm?" She looked at Victoria looking at her.

Garrus: Coco's Party

Quickly he looked at Jaroline and gave her a look that screamed "Knew it" before focusing on Tira. Can't say that she isn't eager. Well, just tell her a bit about it and then tell her that they will go over the full details later. That thinking is what lead to Garrus explaining to Tira, "See, you enjoyed helping me a few days ago right? And I wouldn't mind having a partner while I did my patrols. So, I'm offering you a chance to work with me. Trust me, it will be off the books and you won't be in police records at all. There will be some rules with it but nothing major. Don't shoot civvies, limit collateral damage. The obvious stuff really. What do you say? Would you like to help me defend this town against those scum?" If this worked he would have some help around town and he could stop Tira from doing anything that would get her in trouble. Win-win.

Ainz and Shalltear

Ainz nodded to Garrus. "No big problems I couldn't handle myself. Business has picked up recently though and we could probably use an extra hand if the funding was there to get one." Children did like to tease the walking talking skeleton and found it a bit of a dare to try to get him to do things and react. Ainz took it in stride, although he has never had much experience in dealing with children before so he wasn't really getting them to stop doing it.

"Yo." The door was opened to reveal a casually dressed blonde and the massive Tyranid hunched behind her, breathing heavily as it stared at Jaroline. "We got an invitation from Miss Mayor. Not sure why, but here we are."

"Aren't you the girl who busted into the city hall back then?" Monica hummed, recalling the motorbiker. There were a few more familiar faces inside too; it looked like the world was really small. "Don't think we were introduced yet. Monica." She smiled and offered a handshake.

Coco - Home

"Well thank you very much for informing me," Coco said on the phone. "Feel free to schedule a meeting with my assistant if you or Mr. Benson would like to talk about things. If you'll forgive me, I have a function to attend to."

With that she hung up the phone and clapped her hands. "I believe that's everyone, let's eat!"

At that she and whoever was willing to help would put Salmon burgers and tofu salad on the table.

She looked back towards the other room where everyone had previously sat.

“I believe you’re just in time for lunch.”

With that, Victoria returned to the room where everyone was supposed to eat, and began to help set things.

When she was done with that, and once it was time to eat, she would inspect the burger.

“I don’t think I’ve ever eaten fish prepared quite like this. At the very least, it should be serviceable.”

Victoria then began to eat into it.

Oh, you want me to go with you and kick people's butts like they do in the movies? Sounds like fun!

Tira seemed to be quite pleased at this new arrangment, before she frowned.

Oh, wait, wait, what about that green stuff they use like gold these days? Don't people who do that kind of thing usually get some of that? How's that going to work? Are you going to give me some of that stuff?

Garrus: Coco's Party

Garrus's smiled or at least the turian version of a smirk. At the very least Tira would understand that he was pleased by that answer when he told her happily, "That's great. Most days nothing major happens but the days that I need to do much are not most days," but then he crossed his arms and leaning against the wall, thinking about her question. After a few moments of this he would get off the wall and explain to her, "Right. Can't go without payment for all the hard work. At the moment, I will say we can figure out the payment split later ok? Have a meal to enjoy first," though after looking at the food Garrus added, "Yeah. Enjoy," with a tinge of disappointment. He wanted some of those meat patties that humans called hamburgers. Even so, he still went to the table, sat down, and started eating.

Timeskip #2

Lakeside, October 8, 2018, Afternoon

The rest of the day would for the most part pass by uneventfully, once the party at Coco’s penthouse was finished. Kimmy, the receptionist at City Hall, would later mention to Coco the suited men who were trying to get gambling permits. Kimmy did not seem to say much about Jimmy and Vinny that wasn’t already observable from their brief visit to the party. As for the third man, Alvin Meyer, she mentioned that he came across as a bit cocky.

Tira’s raven at the army base would eventually see Alfred Benson drive out of the army base. If the ravens chose to keep watch, they would also observe his car drive out of town, taking the route he came in.

Somewhere, October 11, 2018, Nighttime

As the upcoming gathering loomed close, the people of Lakeside began to prepare for the festivities.

Ultimately, the venue decided upon was Lakeside University’s gymnasium. While modest, the place could hold an ample amount of people due to its size and the vast number of bleachers in the room for its basketball courts. That, and there was ample space for parking, whether designated or off-road.

The city park, the city’s high school football field, and the theater (among others) were also discussed as options, but ultimately none of them had the above qualities.

Most of the preparations had been set up by the time the day was over. Seating had been arranged, the main podium/platform had been set up, and stands had been set up outside for people who wanted to advertise their wares or perform other business. Although not a decision that was discussed at the meeting in Lakeside, the meeting was also going to be broadcast via radio to whoever would be listening, and several speakers were set up outside for those who would not be able to enter the gymnasium itself.

Indeed, this impromptu gathering would be one of the largest events Lakeside had seen since the Allied occupation of the city. Yet at the same time, there were certain other forces at work, intent on disrupting this momentous occasion.

In some undisclosed location, two Clowns-turned-plumbers were hard at work, or in this case hardly working.

“Say Mario,” said the Luigi Clown, “how long do you think it’ll be before…”

“Shh…! Quiet Luigi! They’re here.”

A small collection of peculiar individuals came before them.

“Holy cannoli, Mario! It’s him!”

“Well, well, well, aren’t you two the finest pair of plumbers I’ve ever laid eyes upon.”

“Uh, Mario, I’m not so sure how I feel about these guys any more.”

“So did one of you order the special delivery?”

“No, but maybe we can show you around.”

“Thanks, but we shan’t be needing help from you two.”

“You sure?”

“We’re all good, but you can stick around if you like. Alright folks, gather around. It’s time we went over the plan.”

Lakeside University Gymnasium, October 12, 2018, 12:30 PM

The day had finally arrived. The sky was once again overcast, not something that was particularly unusual. People from across the Alliance were lined up to purchase their tickets at the main booth, since there was no place to pre-order them ahead of time. Those who were involved in the event in some way or form, either by being one of the politicians present, being part of security, or being part of the remaining staff, did not need to purchase tickets, which for the most part would be donated to Lakeside’s treasury.

The event was scheduled to begin within an hour. Although there may have been some discussion, no one was exactly sure how long the event would take, which was part of the reason the event was scheduled in the afternoon.

Unfortunately, the Midwest Bloc Director could not attend the event, as there were things that required his immediate attention. However, most of the other figures who said they would come did, in fact, come.

First among these was Mayor James Towney of Madison. Mayor Towney was dressed in a plaid button shirt, a black tie, black pants, and a cheap plastic crown. For the most part, he looked rather ordinary, having short brown hair and a face darkened by a close-shave. Standing beside him was a rather overjoyed Link, more befitting his appearance from the CD-i Zelda games as opposed to any other title. Also with them was King Harkinian from the same series, who was currently browsing the many culinary delicacies that lined the stands. James Towney seemed to be looking around expectantly, occasionally glancing at a watch he had with him while also tapping his foot.

Mayor Towney had arrived on a large bus, which most likely had been originally used for some retirement home. Among the group that came with him was a small squad of knights, a man claiming to be King Arthur, a few guys dressed in football uniforms, some college guy dressed in chainmail, and Lord Farquaad in his lordly red attire. There was also a brown-haired man who came with them who seemed rather ordinary compared to everyone else. Most of the members of this cadre were somewhere among the crowd of people flowing through the stalls or purchasing tickets, or were somewhere else because they chose not to go to the event for whatever reason. It was unclear if there were any other residents from Madison within the crowd, though if they were there, they didn’t make themselves known.

Mayor Cynthia Scarlet’s entrance was also a bit on the flashy side. Just an hour before, she had arrived within downtown Lakeside riding a black limo with a small armed escort. Such a thing would not have been unusual in and of itself, but a small crowd had gathered at the point where she exited her limo, which featured a red carpet, impromptu metal barricades, and spotlights. Most of these things had been set up in the early morning, likely by the soldiers and crew Mayor Scarlet sent the day before to help with the event.

Even before she stepped into sight, the crowd seemed to be fawning wildly over Mayor Scarlet, with many holding signs declaring their love and/or support and others ready to snap photos. Most of these people, however, were her supporters from Minneapolis, and many others present seemed to look on at all this with confusion, annoyance, and curiosity.

Mayor Scarlet’s appearance was perhaps not all that noteworthy, yet somehow her small group of followers were enthralled by it, among other qualities. Mayor Scarlet’s long, deep red hair was tied into a simple ponytail, with a single hairclip on her right side. She wore a simple white, button-down shirt, with a number of pins arrayed upon it, and an open black jacket over it which almost reached to the length of the black skirt she wore. On her feet, she wore a pair of shining black combat boots, with stockings covering the rest of her legs.

Also on her person was a black hand-purse and a pair of sunglasses, though when she made her appearance, she immediately took off the latter and placed it in her purse.

As Mayor Scarlet emerged from the limo, soldiers from the escort vehicles also began to hop out, almost as if in sync. Many of them seemed to be wearing uniforms more fit for style and decoration as opposed to most modern uniforms, and many of these folks in particular looked like they’d fit right in with *NSYNC or the Backstreet Boys. Still, they walked with some form of strange grace, and they did not flinch when the completely unnecessary spotlights shone on their faces.

Speaking of escorts, there was one other figure that had been sitting in the limo with Mayor Scarlet. They seemed to be wearing some kind of futuristic black armor with a yellow visor that looked like it had come straight out of one of the Halo games. Said figure also seemed to have some kind of rifle strapped or otherwise attached to their back.

In this figure’s hands was a white megaphone, which Mayor Scarlet seemed to have let in the limo. As the mayor waved to, shook hands with, hi-fived, hugged, posed for, winked at, and blew kisses toward the various people behind the barricades, the black-armored soldier walked up to her, nudged her with the megaphone, and then handed it over to her.

When Mayor Scarlet came close to the end of the red carpet, she spun around and turned on the megaphone.

“Alright ladies and gentlemen, thank you all for coming! I know these times are troublesome, but we can’t let the bad things get the best of us! We need to be ready for whatever things might come our way, and that means all of us. We must be ready no matter where our enemies may strike! That is why we, the people united of Minneapolis, will always be there for our fellow citizens! These people need our cheer, so let’s show them all our love, our caring, our kindness, and our sunshine, so we can finally take the fight to those honking buffoons and KICK THEIR SMELLY RUBBER CLOWN ASSES INTO THE GODDAMN PAVEMENT!”

The crowd (or at least the people from Minneapolis) let out a great cheer, and the mayor and her escorts began to lead the crowd over to where the main event was supposed to be held.

Now that an hour had passed since then, things seemed to have quieted down, though some people still flocked near her. Most of the fancy-pants soldiers that came with her had gone to do other things, though the black-armored marine still trailed behind her, seemingly unencumbered by their armor. Mayor Scarlet was busily introducing herself to the various people around her, though in between these brief sessions, her eyes wandered as if looking for someone.

Mayor Maria Lorenz’s entrance, by contrast, was much more subdued. She had arrived in a humvee (along with two humvee escorts) the day before, dressed in a suit more befitting of a politician. Her hair was long and white with age, and her skin had a dark complexion to it.

Maria Lorenz had arrived the day before, and a number of volunteers from Milwaukee came to help with the event. During that day, she had also taken a brief visit to the army base, before then returning to the room she had been staying at.

When she arrived at the University today, she was met with a small but comfortable crowd. She calmly waved and shook hands with the people gathered before her, and answered any questions directed her way, but she did not give any sort of fiery or grandiose speeches. As she walked, her eyes turned this way and that, taking everything in, but she still kept a most serene expression.

Once Mayor Lorenz was past the crowd, and once the stalls were in sight, she quickly dismissed the two soldiers that formed her immediate bodyguard, and had them disperse through the crowd. She went up to one of the many stalls and purchased a sandwich wrap for herself, before looking for one of the tables that had been set up nearby. As she took a bite into it, she looked into her wrap and inspected it, before continuing to eat.

There were a few other mayors and politicians present at the event who came from the east, though many of them simply seemed to blend in with the crowd. Noticeably absent from this event was Mayor Eddie Rogers of Chicago, who didn’t give much of a reason for his absence. Detroit Mayor Nate Olson, though he expressed his condolences, had mentioned that he had other business to attend to, and could not make it to the event. There had not been any statements from Louise Miriam, Patrick Lee, or Elizabeth Rivers, though these three were notoriously hard to get into contact with, despite their statuses. Mayor Oscar Wesley, despite Green Bay’s proximity, had also not chosen to come to this event, though he rarely left his city, being in charge of watching the northern border for any signs of Clown incursions.

Regardless of these absences, the area outside the university’s gymnasium seemed to be bustling with activity. Among the various people manning the stalls was Spongebob Squarepants, who was happily and busily making burgers - or “Krabby Patties” as he called them - for people who wanted them. Peculiarly, he did not seem to require water to breathe, but such inconsistencies were not all that unusual for individuals of vaguely supernatural persuasion. Spongebob did not reside in Lakeside, though he did not seem to say where he was from, other than his original hometown in Bikini Bottom.

A large, towering black knight stood within the line of people waiting to acquire tickets for the event. A pair of thick horns sprouted from the sides of the knight’s helm and curved upward in a vaguely demonic fashion. Barely anything could be seen of this figure’s person through the thin slit of the knight’s visor, and a strange but subdued stench seemed flow out from the knight’s presence. The knight also seemed to be carrying a heavy, two-handed claymore with them, judging by the size and shape of their scabbard. While waiting in line, the knight occasionally stretched, crossed their arms, and grumbled a bit, but did seem to say much else otherwise. The black knight did not seem to be associated with the group that had come from Madison.

Also among the variety of people present was Professor John Gordon. John Gordon was an old, balding man with spectacles and something of a soft beard. While his back had a bit of a hunch, he did not look as though he possessed the same feebleness of folks his age. It seemed as though he had finished with his lectures for the day, and so he had decided to go to the gymnasium building to see what all the ruckus was about. Today it seemed he was wearing a white plaid button-shirt, a silvery-striped tie, and a pair of brown pants. Professor Gordon was currently waiting near the back of the line for tickets, though he did not seem to have the same impatience or restlessness as some of the people ahead of him.

Victoria Dunton was also present at the event. Her outfit was similar to the one she had worn at the party in Coco’s penthouse, and she wore a her hair in a similar manner as that time. Currently, Victoria didn’t seem to be doing much at the present, idly browsing the stalls while looking around for people she may have recognized.

In any case, the event was due to begin in another hour or so, so there was time for people to browse and mingle before the mayors and politicians would make their speeches. For an occasion that was meant to highlight the severity of the Clown attack that happened about a week before, it was astonishingly festive.

Tira (Gym)-You asked for it Gary

Somewhere among the crowd, near a particular alien cop, a voice cut through the crowd.

Gary! I'm here!

Having gone with her newest partner and been giving the very abbreviated training that passed as officer training in this post-clown world, Tira had spent much of the past day putting together an outfit to reflect her new status. Sure, the cops had given her some outfit of their own, but Tira found that boring. With the help of a friendly costume shop owner, she put together one of her own.

So it was that Gary would see her new outfit. In addition, she had apparently decided at some point to dye her hair, which was now an odd combination of white, blue, and pink. Naturally, she was still carrying her oversized ring blade as well. She would begin running over to him after yelling and waving.

Somewhere above the gym, two ravens sat, one on eather side of the building, doing what they did best. Watching.

Lakeside University Gymnasium

Coco Adel strolled into the gymnasium fashionably late. True, she was still around an hour early, but she was there just about as late as she could afford to be. Dressed not too differently from her signature appearance, she had elected to go with a black leather jacket rather than something in the more Earthen tones she tended to favor.

Making her way through, a freshly-minted officer with a rather eclectic outfit caught her eye - it wasn't hard to miss someone dressed like that in the crowd. Well, that section at least. People like the Black Knight and Spongebob were even more visible, but she didn't really have much reason to talk to them.

"I do believe congratulations are in order. I am looking at the newest member of the Lakeside Police Department, after all," Coco said to Tira as she strolled up to the policewoman. "I trust Garrus hasn't ridden you too hard yet? We can always use anyone willing to join our local law enforcement, it would be such a shame to have him chase off a new recruit."

Garrus: Lakeside University Gymnasium

Garrus had been mostly standing around in wait for his rookie partner to show up for the first day on the job. Sign ups went well even with Tira's unique personality and she had done pretty well on the physical sections of training. Just needed experience and someone to teach her the ropes. "Gary! I'm here!" could be heard by him even over the crowd and his head flicked in it's direction.

And straight at a sight that boggled the mind. Right away Garrus couldn't help but friendly snark at the get up, asking Tira, "Is this the new standard uniform for the LPD Tira? Why haven't I gotten one yet?" and he chuckled in amusement from the outfit. Well, he wouldn't be bored with his new partner around. That's for sure....he did like the glasses though.

That's when the Mayor walked up to the duo and started giving Tira congrats about her new position which Garrus reacted by placing a hand on Tira's shoulder and telling Coco, "Well, that would be a fair statement Mayor if it wasn't me who suggested to her that she should join the force. Say hello to Officer Tira, my partner for the time being," and then he would look at the outfit again and then look back at Coco, asking teasingly, "Did you design the new uniform Miss Mayor?"

Lakeside University Gymnasium

The moment she caught eye of a certain group of people (whether they had gone inside or were among the crowd of people gathered outside), Mayor Cynthia Scarlet began to bolt towards them.

Just a few steps from doing so, however, she briefly turned around and addressed the small group of people gathered around her.

“Oh, I’m sorry that I have to go so soon even though we just talked for a few minutes. I know you all need a wittle bit more of my super-kawaii huggies and my extra wuv and care, but this is - like - a super-duper-extra-ultra-mega-special meeting between mayors, if ya know what I mean. Just remember that I wuv you all and you are all my vewy special friends~!”

With that, Mayor Scarlet waved and smiled toward the people she left, and she ran over to where Coco, Garrus, and Tira had gathered (after finding where they were if necessary). The marine in black armor followed after her, briefly glancing back at the crowd the two left. Once Mayor Scarlet was close, she uprighted herself and slowed herself to a more purposeful stride.

“Greetings Coco Adel, Mayor of Lakeside! We are most pleased to make your general acquaintance. Are these people standing beside you members of your royal council?”

In the meantime, the line to the ticket booth moved little by little.

The black knight, almost three-quarters of the way, said to himself, “Eugh… this line is taking forever.”

By this time, King Harkinian had procured a small feast of burgers and fries from Spongebob’s stand, which he brought over to Mayor Towney and Link.

“Oh boy!” exclaimed Link. “I can’t wait!”

“Mah boi,” said the King, “this type of cuisine is what all true warriors strive for!”

“Yup,” said Mayor James Towney, “this sure is the life.”

“I wonder what Jerry is doing,” said Link.

Nevertheless, the three of them began chowing down into their newly acquired meals.

Victoria Dunton, in the meantime, began to pace about. It was not clear whether she had seen Coco and the others about, but regardless, she decided to enter the building, going through the right entrance.

Coco - Gym

"Sadly no, Garrus, I didn't have a hand in creating that ensemble," Coco replied to Garrus. "...I would have made sure to include several more buckles... and there's not nearly enough black to give it that dark flare aesthetic... perhaps some more lace...." She got lost in thought as the other mayor approached.

"Well hello Mayor Scarlet," Coco said, her eyes slightly peeking over the tops of her sunglasses for a brief moment as she nodded her head. "No royalty here, I'm afraid. Simply a mayor offering her congratulations to our latest member of the Lakeside Police Force. But enough about me, how are you doing? I trust you had an enjoyable trip to Lakeside?"

Tira (Gym)-Socializing

Tira's smile got wider when Coco showed up and approved of the outfit.

Oh, thanks! I spent all yesterday on it!

Then she looked at Garrus.

Well, they gave me that uniform thingy, but that was really stiff and boring, you know? And I figured "Hey, Gary doesen't use a uniform, why should I have to use mine?" So I found someplace called a costume shop, they had all sorts of fun outfits, told him "Hey, I need a sheriff outfit" and he gave me this! He even gave me these glasses for free!

Oh, and don't worry, Gary's been lots of fun, not like my last boss, he was a real meany! She said to Coco

Lastly, she turned to the newcomer she did not know.

Oh, I'm not on a council thingy, no, I'm a guard, or cop, or sheriff, or whatever. My name's Tira!

“Why yes,” Mayor Scarlet said to Coco, “we are doing quite splendidly.

“And good afternoon to you too, Lady Tira. You certainly have an interesting taste in attire. It could do with a bit more uniformity, but that shade is quite striking. Would you happen to remember the name of the vendor you acquired this from?”

The black-armored marine simply seemed to watch as everyone else spoke, standing just a few feet away from Mayor Scarlet.

Jaroline- Coco's Penthouse (Pre-Timeskip)

Well, this was awkward. Not the giant bug thing, that was actually somewhat normal as far as the bike-Tulpa "owning" traveler girl can attest to. It was trying to handshake Monica. Tilting herself to the side to use the slung arm to handshake

"Jaroline. Jaroline Hitaisho"

And thus she ate, and the day came to a close.

Jaroline- LU Gymnasium

Well, she upgraded from a sling to a cast. That's good. Makes it so she doesn't have to drive Nep with her feet anymore.

The political groups around her was... odd, to say the least. Sponges, Kings, a (and she really had to question the day she could put an "a" in that statement) King Arthur. And then there was Ms. Scarlet, a girl that made her stunt persona seemed subdued by comparison.

Anyways, after parking Nepbike, she somehow ended up with Coco, her boss, Garrus, and what sounded like that clown girl from the party, now a police officer. She was not going to judge, considering, again, her experiences with the police force can get quite... odd, to say the least. At least she didn't have to evade the cops this time. Still, shg might have the wrong idea of "deputy"... though she approved of the hat.

Then Scarlet approached them, becoming much more formal then her... eccentric introduction.

"I'm probably the closest thing she has at her court right here. I'm Jaroline Hitaisho, Ms. Adel's personal assistant." She said, smiling.

Pest Control, Back Then

"Monica." The blonde smiled at Jaroline and returned the handshake, then looked over where Coco and her helpers were setting up food. "Sweet. I'm famished." Monica mused, glancing at the selection of sandwiches and the salad. Not her usual kind of food, but boy, she was in no position to complain.

Judging by how Swarmlord hunched over a little, eyes fixed on the food stand, it too did not mind the selection. Then again, there probably wouldn't be much value out of eating these for him. Maybe he'll grow leaves, Monica thought in amusement.

Pest Control, Now

"No kidding." Behind the black knight stood a fairly small - in comparison, at least - blonde, bundled up in a thick blue coat and an assorted scarf in the color of faded red. Behind her stood a creature most foul, breathing slowly as it stood almost as tall as the knight - if not taller. "But then again, you don't get these opportunities as often now that we live in a post-apo world."

Tira (Gym)-Outfit talk

Oh, the guy I got it from ran a place called Bob's Halloween Shop. I don't know what a Halloween is, but the costumes were really cool!

She looked back at the armored space marine behind her. Oh, I like your armor, mr! But, why'd you paint it, and how do you keep it so shiny?

Garrus: Lakeside University Gymnasium

If Garrus had sweat glands he would have let out a sweat drop at Coco's comment. At least she and Tira would get along with fashion...and speaking of fashion, Tira explained why she didn't wear the standard issue uniform. He thought for a moment, said something but then quickly drew it back, and then finally he just shrugged, telling Tira, "Whatever gets the job done I suppose," and then he went silent for a second before following up with, "And of course I'm fun. Some friends back home call me the only Turian with a sense of humor. Well, after I got the stick removed from ass and started beating bad guys with it. Friends words."

And then he crossed his arms and turned to Mayor Scarlet. "Names Garrus, officer of Lakeside. Tira here is my partner and just fresh into the department," he explained to her but before he could add anything else Tira spoke up about the black armored individual. Garrus's focus glided right over to the person and what he found interested him. Could it be? Garrus took a couple steps forward the individual and looked at the armor from top to bottom. Not any human armor he ever saw but....."What's the name of the human who saved the Citadel from Geth invasion in 2183 Galactic Standard?" asked Garrus to the armored bodyguard. Even if they didn't know who the person was, Citadel and Geth should get a response.
