Ahoy City, under attack

Shantae rushed towards the dock, stopping and gasping when she saw that the ship had apparently already landed, because a number of Tinkerbats had already started scoring the coastal city for any valuables they could find. Shantae furrowed her brow and started chasing after some of the Tinkerbats.

A few of them were holding a chubby-looking, three foot tall man with a green beard at cutlass-point while another Tinkerbat was ransacking the man's hut and taking things.

"Let him go and drop what you've stolen!" Shantae yelled at the Tinkerbats. The Tinkerbats threatening the man turned towards Shantae and brandished their cutlasses dangerously at her, one of them making a beckoning "bring it on" gesture towards her.

New Rome ~ Reporting Live

Not far from where Doomguy and the others were sat an electronics store, with many different televisions displayed in the front windows. A small crowd of numerous people, varied as always given the location, had gathered in front of it and were watching the televisions quite intently.

If anyone in that group wished to investigate further, they would see a scene in a coastal city of some kind. It appeared to be under attack, or simply being ransacked, by a large group of dark, humanoid creatures with yellow eyes and dressed in a pair of red, baggy pants. According to the announcer, it seemed the place was known as "Ahoy City," or more specifically the Ahoy City docks.

Also present, although not the focus of the news report, was a certain half-genie girl and her nurse companion.

Ahoy City Slums — The Profit

Meetra's Force Lightning arced over the tables, unerringly striking the Crewmen, Tech and Osprey alike. The Osprey was the first to fall, its circuitry overloaded by the lightning, and without its shielding the Crewmen soon fell; the Tech was obviously more robust, but even he could not stand Meetra's concentrated assault.
However, the Travellers had no cause for celebration, for the plasma grenade then exploded with a puff of blue-white smoke and enough force to tear a man apart.
That was only the beginning of their troubles. The Numo Trap that was holding the Banshee in place dissipated and exploded, throwing the Warframe back to its compatriots; through the now-open door they could see their adversaries: two men and a woman, all wearing grey coveralls with orange power cells attached to their backs and brandishing grey, skeletal-looking rifles. Above them hovered a green Osprey. The man with the open helmet looked at the Travellers with a distinctly unimpressed cast to his face. "Yo pkoye ate pke itptupety, atp pkey kate a Jatttasey. Tetet sitp — peyptoy pkes!" he said, and the Anyo Corp. Investor Relations department attacked.
The Osprey dove in first, firing multiple lasers thicker than a man's arm at the group — each Traveller got two beams; the Banshee, still on the floor, tanked both with a flicker of its shields. After the Osprey came the woman and the square-helmeted man, each firing a snaking laser beam from their rifles; the man focused on Meetra, while the woman focused Rine down. The leader, of course, held back.

Corpus Base - Rine Anok

Of course there was more. Of course there was.

Cursing underneath his breath, Rine generated a rippling shield on his arm to block the Osprey's beams, the first attack cracking the shield, while the second shattered it like glass. Quickly shooting a blinding distraction shot in the vague direction of the Osprey, he shifted his attention to the female soldier, rolling out of the path of her beam before generating another scimitar and aiming a horizontal slash at her torso, his glowing, piercing eyes boring directly into hers.

He was aiming to take her out quickly before the Osprey could attack again. Something told him it wouldn't be so easy.

New Rome: On Route to Ahoy

The Doomslayer paused in his movements as the news alert was broadcasted. He stared at the screens in particular the strange creatures causing the havoc, before pulling his map back out of hammerspace and assessing the fastest route to get to Ahoy. Which was back at the train station it looked like. If he was reading this right at least.

He folded up the map again and banished it to his armor's storage before breaking out into a swift run. His companions would be hard pressed to follow him, as he sprinted off.

Christine, Heading F'wrd to ADVENTURE!
News. Just the same old news station that was back home. For a completely different dimension, Christine figured it'd be different. No humans, no Buneary-looking non-pokemon, probably a bunch of floating rocks because different gravity or something. But here she was, staring at the news with a mute, horrible-smelling astronaut like she was back home.

So far, disappointing.

But then, in between her daze as she stared deep into the television (and indeed, the television stared back into her) her not-friend started running.

Something told her that he probably wasn't running away from the danger...

Almost as if she felt that there'd be nothing exciting here, she decided to follow him. And that meant catching up to his Olympic Sprinter-level legs wow, he was booking it.

She retrieved a ball from one of those deep pockets and threw it up in the air, and beside the little crowd of people a giant insectoid beast appeared. With a low, growling, chittering voice, it looked to Christine and said "Go..."

"Yeah, we're not at the beach, friend," she said like she was talking to an old friend, stepping past the rest of the crowd. "I need you to bring me on foot!" She pointed towards the rapidly disappearing form of the Ex-Marine, as she got behind the Golisopod.

"Now," as she tried to throw herself - successfully! - onto its back, grasping onto its plates, "Let's roll!"

New Rome - At Burger's

Issun hopped back onto Amaterasu's head, grumbling something about how if the 'Claymore' was ignoring him, he'd ignore her right back. Ammy seemed to be enjoying getting pet, so he greeted the newcomers.

"Hey there! We were just gonna help the owner find some rare ingredients for a special dish she was making for her husband." Issun explained. He looked at the girl petting Ammy bemusedly. The wolf's tongue had lolled out slightly. "Ammy seems to like you a lot, so you're welcome to join us."

The wolf chuffed and nuzzled the strange girl again.

What is so amusing about this? Why do you take lives? How can you forget?

New Rome - Burger Place

Helen shoved the note into her pocket for safekeeping after reading out loud the list of ingredients on it so that they could not worry about it anymore. "What I mean is that you look like a little spoiled princess, and we've got a right here, it's like I stumbled into a theater during the the middle of some big stupid play."

"Helen you just met her, leave the kid alone," Deneve sighed. It had been so long since they had to deal with people, let alone people who actively tried to avoid them, she had forgotten just how... unique Helen's personality was to manage. "Helen and I have been living alone for a long time so she's forgotten how to talk to people and use manners." she apologized to Rachel.

Meetra - Corpus

Throwing her lightsaber at the source of the laserfire on her, Meetra let the blade guide itself with the Force as she threw off her robe, tossing it into the laser's line of fire as she dove for cover.

Rachel- At Burger's

"Hm... Well, I might as well come. I was in need of entertainment here." she responded to a bug. Honestly, it was hard to surprise her.

Annoy, on the other hand, was not so hard, as one of the Claymores was about to find out.

"My, what a bile mouth you have. To think, you believe your able to judge my fashion sense."

Thankfully, the other one apologized before she got the rods out.

"It would do her good to learn them, lest she offends the wrong person. And calling me a kid would be quite inaccurate."

Mikan- Ahoy City

"Ah!" Mikan looked at the city. She'd need to help, for sure, but how?

At Burger's

"...bite me." Fabiola replied to Helen with a grunt, electing to focus on her food instead.

"Ah, well, perhaps you're hungry?" The strange response from the newcomer girl didn't deter the elf waitress much. "This place is a bistro, where you can eat anything you can think of for a modest price." Then she turned to Rachel, undaunted by her haughtiness. "Which is why this establishment has no menu cards, Miss."

The list was quite diverse, but it was most notably divided into two categories; "Easy" and "Hard". The former were ingredients that the group would probably be able to acquire with minimal effort, while the latter was likely the aforementioned delicacies that were so hard to procure. Among them were Rhinga Maiya, Corpseflower, Bulette's Brisket, Limited Edition Yellowberry Corn Flakes and Red Rake.

Corpus Base

"Son of a bitch, there's more of them?"    This was seriously getting on Caleb's nerves by now. He was too used to a more mobile - and one-sided - kind of fight, not just sitting behind cover and hoping one of his attacks proves more reliable this time. At least Meetra's were doing their job.

Plus, these Corpus guys had their own eldritch language too, so at least it wasn't too disimilar from fighting The Cabal. Dodging the incoming lasers from the stupid green sci-fi trash bin - and finding to his distaste that his coat got a few more holes in it, he dashed for the man, sawn-offs in hand.    "But that's what makes it fun, doesn't it?!"    Luckily for himself, Caleb had an uncanny ability of always finding some optimism in the situation, no matter how dire. Optimism stemmed from the fact that by the end of the day, he'll add another man to his killcount.

As such, the revenant cackled quietly as he fired at the enemy, both of his shotguns from up close. He wasn't really aiming for anything in particular; fancy armor or not, taking a bucketful of shot was never healthy.

Ahoy City: The Docks

It took the Doomslayer several minutes to get back to the train station and the nearest portal access and from there it took him a few more minutes to get to the location of the monster attack. All told, it took him about ten minutes from seeing the announcement on the TV for him to arrive.

And arrive he did. The first shadowy monster to meet the Doomslayer soon had its head pulped beneath an armored fist. The second had a hole punched through it by a plasma blast from the man's sidearm.

Ahoy City — the docks

Shantae had been running in and trying to fight off the Tinkerbats with some dexterous whips of her hair. As she fought, however, she heard the sound of (what she assumed to be) cannon fire. She gasped and turned, but then her eyes widened at what looked like a metal man charging in and taking out the Tinkerbats as well. As each Tinkerbat fell, they dissolved into shadowy smoke, and fairly soon the normally unflappable Tinkerbats seemed intimidated at this armored man felling their ranks.

One of the Tinkerbats gestured towards the others and then towards the docks, and a group of them booked it towards the ship with bags of their ill-gotten gains slung over their shoulders. Shantae began to chase after them, but not before giving a nervous nod to the Doomslayer.

Christine's Latepost Jamboree, Big Fight Zone
Okay, this dimension was spread out through a train station. Yes, that made sense. If there's a place where worlds are separated by millions of miles of black nothingness, surely there's one where all it takes is a free metro ride. Besides, Christine liked trains. She used to have a trainset when she was a kid that she loved.

Slightly less important on the scale of things that happened to her in the last ten minutes was some being of darkness trying to take off her head.

Mocha was quick on the intercept, knocking the mysterious entity that Christine was hesitant to call a Pokemon despite looking like a little Ghost and/or Dark type thing. Just her style, but at the moment, they seemed too focused on blowing up everything to be captured. The Brimstone Man was over there...straight up killing them.

I mean, Christine is hardcore and all, but even if she talks a big game she just doesn't see people die all the time...

Trying to at least make a bit of an impact without outright murdering a lot of people(?) Christine muttered "Surf" into the waiting ear of her giant isopod monster. Just like that, the ocean swelled from underneath the pier, and crested above, taking with it a little smattering of those black-red things.

Ahoy City Slums — The Profit

The woman duelling Rine ignored his fired shot. The slash, she dodged; then she drove her fist into the ground, and electricity spread from it in a circular wave, washing over Rine.

As luck would have it, Meetra's thrown lightsaber did strike the Osprey, but it struck handle-first; only the Osprey's manoeuvring ensured that it would be somewhat damaged by the blade. That said, it blasted the lightsaber with its beam weapon, sending it spinning away; it bumped into the corpse of the Tech, where it stopped.

Caleb's shots struck true and fell to the floor, their kinetic energy spent by the Corpus' energy shields. All it did was to cause the leader to fire his own rifle at Caleb. Fortunately for him, the Banshee was up again — with a gilded, twin-barrelled shotgun in its hands. Calmly it aimed and fired; not only did the leader's shields shatter, he started bleeding profusely — but he still trained his beam rifle at Caleb.

The last man, meanwhile, decided it was best to fire on the Banshee, and fire he did; for the moment, the Warframe's shields held.

Corpus Base - Rine Anok

The wave of electricity sent him into a brief spasm, causing intense pain in his already burned chest. The alien managed to clumsily roll backwards out of harm's way, nearly collapsing in the process due to the shock.

He mentally cursed their large amounts of technology and techniques. He was used to typical Hardlight constructs, and although they were varied and switchable, the material itself was predictable.

But these guys just kept pulling tricks out of their proverbial ass, it seemed.

Glaring at his opponent, he shifted into a different stance, a more defensive one judging by the more steady positioning of the feet and the lowered head. He created a shield of the white plasma on his left arm, and deciding to try something new, elongated and shifted his rippling scimitar into the vague shape of a bastard sword.

Both this stance and construct were basics, one of the first taught at the combat academy he attended on Kayden. But hopefully the change in technique would be enough to give him an edge.

Ahoy City: The Docks

The Doomslayer paused as he went to switch weapons, before thinking better of it. He was in a place far from UAC facilities, and the foes he was facing weren't releasing argent energy upon death. He wasn't likely to be getting new ammo any time soon. So, for the time being he kept the plasma pistol out. He took numerous pot shots at the fleeing creatures as he pursued them on foot.

As he moved after the tinkerbat's he noticed the scantily clad woman's nod, and returned it while ramming his boot through one fallen tinkerbat's chest.

New Rome Bistro - Claymores

"Oh you little...." Before Helen could launch into more a tirade, the television in the bistro brought up a news report of some little... monsterlings... attacking part of the city. Or a city. The point was, there were monsters that needed slaying, and they weren't anywhere nearby.

"Holy fuck! Den, we gotta go!" Helen put one of her hands on Deneve's forearm and started running off. Deneve herself stayed put for a moment, Helen's arm stretching out several yards as the more hot-headed Claymore kept running. Finally, she stood up and then, with a sigh, followed after Helen.

Ahoy City Docks - Still the Claymores

"Oh don't give me that look Den, it's not like you would have found the gate any faster! The whole place looked like a fucking church, how the hell was I supposed to know we passed it without asking someone about it?!" Helen shouted as she and Deneve ran across Ahoy City trying to find - as she had so-eloquently asked of a few people in the streets - 'the weird little monster things messing shit up'.

As they rounded the corner to the docks, though, they found their prize. The monsters... were different, that was for sure. And they seemed a whole lot smaller in person than they had on the strange talking rectangle back at the pie place.

"Fuck! These guys already killed a bunch! Why couldn't they have been somewhere closer? DAMN IT!" In a rage, Helen practically threw her sword at some of the tinkerbats, her arm stretching out after her blade and twisting the hilt as it steered towards the little bastards. Lacking her own method of attacking at a distance, Deneve simply kept her twin swords at the ready should any of the creatures approach.

Tenno Town - Meetra

Meetra frowned, then gritted her teeth. She tried to draw the Osprey's attention by looking particularly defenseless, even going so far as to hold both of her hands up in the air, waving them around.

As she did so, though, she reached out with the Force to her fallen lightsaber, suddenly yanking on the device and flicking it at the Osprey from behind.
