IIRC, they cut out some Karna scenes where he spends his time guarding the drugged up Red Masters just to send a message, literal shower scene on his thoughts about Arjuna and how he sees a connection between that and Siegfried, and Semriamis blush scene where he causally shows that she is in love with Amakusa.
On Amakusa, I feel the anime hasn't done too well beyond a bare bones outline of his plan and how generic smug villain he seems.
On the big fight, the direction left out the fact that Sieg had a holy shroud that would auto heal him made by Jeanne. That, Balmung spam, and Armor of Fafnir is why he didn't die immediately to Brahmastra Kundala, whereas the anime made it seem like he tanked it just fine. There was the limit Caules (I think LN was Fiore instead) set and they probably should have made it more explicit Vasavi Shakti was busted out because of the time limit.
The main complaint I have now is that there wasn't a custom track for the score for this scene.
I just did. But I won't sink into the whole petty "butcher" complains. But at the very least, I could understand Nyanta better. Worth It.
They also cut out IIRC some scenes of Achilles having a flashback to his father telling him stories about Nyanta and made some changes to their final conversation where they faded away at the same time.
There's another cut stuff and it involved a certain Amazoness CEO, and plays a part on why Achilles skewered Nyanta.
TL;DR: Amazoness CEO went Diarmuid and cursed that Achilles one day is gonna use that spear to kill a beloved person. Yep.

Yeah, Team AKA didn't have a full showing
Could have sworn there was an explicit scene where Achilles was excited about wanting to fight Karna
If that was the case, then perhaps they focused too much on Black Faction. That would be fine to me, but it made me wonder...
Did they cut anything from Astolfo or Chiron? I got a feeling that it might be the case...
Not sure but they IIRC expanded on some Sieg and Jeanne moments and cut down/shortened Jeanne's conversation(s) with Vlad at the beginning.
Wait, this was supposed to be that awesome fight that people were hyping about? It was a blobby mess! The choreography was good, and the emotions were good, but the animation itself looked bad, like nearly Naruto vs Pain bad!
Oh yeah, Atalanta and Achilles had a good exit.
Controversy at work
I think the specific format of the animation was called webgen or something?
I keep hearing Naruto vs Pain comparisons so I'm assuming it was the same deal there.
Off the top of my head they cut why Chiron wants his immortality back (it's the only memento he has of his parents) as well as Sieg's dream about Astolfo's past, Astolfo comforting Sieg when Sieg is scared shitless by mentioning all of the times he's also been scared shitless, Astolfo and Sieg sleeping together, Sieg kabedonning Astolfo...
So a decent number of scenes. Them's the breaks with a light novel adaptation.
It’s a specific art-style that Naruto vs. Pain also used - low-detail, ultra-fluid animation to convey intense movement and enormous switches in scale (plus the wobbly, liquid visual effects you get when so much energy is getting thrown around that the air is shimmering and the ground is melting). Basically, it’s how hand-drawn animation conveys the sort of visual tricks that CG is now mostly used for.
It’s not ‘bad’ as in lazy or unemotive - there’s a lot of effort that goes into making something like that, because you have to draw a hell of a lot of frames conveying a hell of a lot of complex movement without re-using any of them, and the exaggeration means that it generally conveys the sort of mood you intended for it. It’s purely a matter of taste whether you prefer your animation a little firmer, stiffer, and more detailed.

What's precedent ever done for us?Okay, looks like next episode, we'll see another one biting the dust. Probably Mordred
On the other hand, the more I noticed this, the more I feel like most Apocrypha Hatedom held onto the reasoning like "Sieg is an unlikable cardboard" "Show focuses too much on him" "Everyone else gets wasted"... Am I weird that I don't feel that way? I mean, I wouldn't say that Sieg is an overly colorful or great character, but since my usual big focus isn't Sieg, I can see other things done really good, even if some elements got adapted out from the anime... but then again, same complaints has been around since LN times...
For example, looking at both Achilles and Atalanta, the more I see elements of Greek Tragedy becoming at play, both becoming fitting on the element Tragic Hero.

The show is just boring tbh. Hard to care about anything that's really happening.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. From the look of it, most of Tropers seem to hold onto that same opinion. Probably after hearing that a cardboard gets too much focus that other 'would be more interesting' characters get shafted...
I don't even care about Sieg. The whole show is just boring. I got up to Episode 7, but I cannot for the life of me find the drive to continue watching.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.I stopped watching/lasted around the end of Jack's misadventure.
This show honestly is boring & its not entirely Sieg's fault for that.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Well, I guess not too boring to me. It was not the best, but it's OK.
Why is it boring.
Digibro made me hate the word boring

Okay then I won't use boring.
Its just not that entertaining.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Kinda of ironic the guy with the jiren the grey icon called something boring
Okay that's a good one.
Being more entertaining than Jiren is a pretty low bar though.
And for the record I like manga Jiren better.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."It's boring because very few of the characters are engaging and few of their interactions have any real life to them. Jeanne and Sieg's relationship, for example, has no real chemistry to it. The way characters behave also doesn't make a great deal of sense a lot of the time, though part of that is due to the story cutting out really important scenes.
I have to say I'm also not sold on the idea of Amakusa actually needing to be stopped. It's not like he's trying to kill loads of people or take over the world. This makes me uninvested in the overall outcome and is a big part of why I stopped watching a few weeks ago.
Your points have something to them but thing like character action not making sense when and give me a scene pls and akamastu not needing to be stop, why?

Jack and Reika targeting Black instead of teaming up with them or laying low when they have no way of fighting Red, the more dangerous and important enemy.
Because Amakusa is trying to bring salvation to humanity by making them all immortal, basically. Jeanne is like noooo it's not for heroic spirits to decide what humans will do blah blah.
I need to stop looking at tumblr after each episode cause every time I’m like “that was good episode” I just see everywhere post about all the stuff they cut out from LN and how the light novel did character or scene better and a lot it actually sounds really good and then I get sad.
