Pure Unadulterated Awesomeness.
Also the music hits a sweet nostalgic feeling to go with all those iconic moments.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Hit, Black and Beerus all look great.
The cinematic spots are aces.
Seconding the newest (last?) characters looking pretty damn awesome. Hit, especially, looks dope.
Interestingly, the trigger for Yamucha's iconic death seems to be the same for Krillin's, except with Krillin himself in Goku's place (we see a snippet of him doing the Scatter Kamehameha on Nappa in what's probably later in the same cutscene).

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. It just occured to me that they can't cover large sections of the story due to the only kid Gohan in the game being Super Saiyan 2 and the only Gokus and Vegetas in the game being Super Saiyan 1 and Blue. They can do Super Saiyan Goku vs Freeza, but they can't have Goku, Gohan, or Vegeta involved in any of the Saiyan arc or most of the Namek arc. They also can't cover a lot of the Buu Saga and Super, just the parts with Majin Vegeta, Fat Buu, and Kid Buu for the former and the final battles of the first 3 arcs and the middle portion of the 4th Super arc for the latter.
Of course, this is assuming that there's no other characters in the game.

Was it a different shot of his Scatter Kamehameha than is already used for his level 3?
I have a message from another time...Yep. Both Nappa and the Saibamen are in the shot as it comes down, which doesn’t happen in the normal version.
You mean in terms of the cinematic moments? Because the story mode isn’t covering the plot of the series.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Dang those cinematic finishers might just be my favorite thing in this game so far. I'm curious about that Super Saiyan God one.
This song needs more love.[]

I have a message from another time...Thoose visuals loook so good and these scenes bring up really good memories.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Well, yeah cinematically. No Goku vs Vegeta beam struggle or Goku beating Nappa. Hell, I can't think of a single cinematic Ginyu could even be involved in aside from Recoome kicking Krillin.
It's possible that in some cases they would simply reference scenes without them being exactly the same.
Like, if you steal Goku's body as Ginyu with Gohan and/or Krillin on your team, I could see that being a video even though neither the version of Goku or Gohan used is accurate to the scene in which it actually happened.
Ginyu is at least likely to have a cinematic with Freeza, at any rate, even if the Freeza he interacted with wasn't in his final form.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. That trailer from earlier already made due with showing Kid Buu fighting Gotenks and Gohan as representation of those Buu Saga fights.
As cool as these cinematic scenes are, if they are indeed supposed to proc during actual matches, then I hope there's a way to turn them off, otherwise they'll wear out their novelty rather fast. Plus I imagine any tourneys of the game will want them off/skippable, similar to how the Fatalities of the MK series are skipped.
Now... a couple of questions: What was that song and is it new or taken from the Japanese version of the series? Also, is Hit a member of Freeza's race or just some other alien? I've never seen any of Super so I know nothing about what's going on there (I honestly keep forgetting that Toonami exists and has been showing Super for quite a while now).
Well Hit is from another universe & while that universe has Frieza's species as well as Saiyan's Hit's species is unknown so he is just a general alien character.
His connection to any particular race is unimportant & theirs no indication he's a member of Frieza's race aside from a slight resemblance.
His Ultimate is really cool especially since its a psychical attack not a ki blast one.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."The song was We were Angels, the ending theme of the Buu saga during Z.
As for Hit, he's not a member of Frieza's race (as far as we know). Like Frieza, his exact race is unknown.
Edit: I got half Murasaki'ed it seems.

One Strip! One Strip! All I want is a Dragonball-Era pack or something trailer set to Makafushigi Adventure.
Those weren't cinematics, though. That was gameplay footage.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. After seeing Black, I want SSJ Rage Trunks. It can't be that hard to put blue aura around the guy.
I'd be fine with them just patching in a new move for Trunks that gives him access to that, either as a Goku-style cinematic super or a Freeza-style transformation. His moveset could use a bit of spicing up, from what I hear, and I'll admit that while extra running and jump speed is kind of meh on Freeza w/ Golden form, it'd work wonders for Trunks' more physical style (I still think Golden Freeza should've just given him temporarily less use of meter or something).
Speaking of music, there is apparently a DLC pack that features a bunch of songs from the anime (including Makafushigi Adventure and Cha La Head Cha La) and would allow the players to use them as BGM. However, it is - amusingly - only known to be available in Japan at the moment.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. That was more trying to make a point they won't care of getting "canon" requirements for a character's cinematic finish (Ex. any cinematic finish involving Ginyu with the game's current roster).

But that was gameplay footage of them fighting a regular round. It doesn't have anything to do with the cinematic moments. We don't know yet if either Gotenks or Gohan has one with Buu.
However, I did just remember something that hints that they really won't care about that sort of thing - at least, not if it gets in the way of content. The magazine issue that revealed Beerus and the cinematic moments hinted that Beerus has one with Black - despite never actually facing Black in the series (except, presumably, offscreen at the end of the arc).
They're probably going to give him the "Beerus erases Zamasu" moment, but with Black instead or in addition. Or at least, I hope.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.I would adore a Dragon Ball pack.
Roshi with a Jackie Chun costume
Demon King Piccolo
Arale
Ninja Murasaki with all 4 of his brothers, similar to Ginyu, except you can switch which Murasaki you're playing as really quickly and they all have different weapons that are only revealed when they attack. Basically, Confusion Fu meets Zerg Rush.
Kid Goku, with pole, cloud, and the Janken Fist.
Eighter, to tie in to the Android-themed plot of the game and add more story mode.
Speaking of Dragonball references and cinematics regardless of precise canonicity, I'd really love it if Goku had this if he wins against Piccolo. Or more likely this (maybe transitioning into that earlier clip), since so far the cinematics have been action scenes.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Apparently most of the cinematics require certain conditions to be met to trigger, similar to Brutalities in MK. For instance you have to kill Krillin using the third hit of Frieza's autocombo and for Goku to be the next character on Krillin's team for the scene where Goku goes Super Saiyan. This probably ensures they're rare enough that they never lose their novelty when they happen.
For Those who Seek the Thrill of Death: A Dramatic SMT3 Hard Playthrough
It's also what they did for much of Ginyu's story mode in Supersonic Warriors 2 (who played similar to Ginyu in Fighterz). They nerfed already one of the weakest characters in the game even more by removing his Ginyu Force supers for almost the whole thing.
