Cue complaints of graphical downgrades once the game comes out.
Montana? I'm both confused and interested. Skeptical to.
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects.Definitely an interesting choice of setting.
It's not that out of place. Montana is super-isolated compared to the rest of the US; 44th in population, 48th in Population Density. All of this stuff happening with no one in the wider country noticing is pretty believable.
Does have a nice mix of terrain, but if they are only doing a single county (that looks rather flat), maybe they are moving away from the standard open world formula they've been using since 3?
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects.Imagine the draw distance for sniper rifles on that flat terrain. You could stand in the next county along and still reach out and touch somebody's head.
It seems like this year will be the Year of the Murderous Hillbillies, then. Outlast 2, then this...
Too far north and on the wrong side of the country for folks from Montana to be called a hillbilly. Hillbillies are Americans predominantly descended from Lowland Scots, predominantly Presbyterian Protestant, who live in Appalachia, the area that encompasses the bit on the map shaded in white on this handy webpage from Wikipedia:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Appalachia
Montanans are something else.
Truer words have never been spoken.

Welcome to Estalia, gentlemen.Indeed.
Getting a bit of a True Detective (Season one) vibe - the bleakness, the lack of music, the slow build. Horror in daylight sort of stuff.
Perhaps a Hunting the Most Dangerous Game sort of scenario?
Or perhaps there are some weird Cult level horror elements in there too? The Far Cry games have been leaning towards the mystical since 3...

Huh, this looks quite interesting
Got some Waco siege vibes from this.
Si Vis Pacem, Para PerkeleMaybe it will be something like "subtle magic insanity" that 3 and 4 did (mostly 3). There is something wrong with this place, but you never know why. Magic? Drugs? Who knows? Especially since it seems to be a cult we'll be facing.
Though, I do wonder... How can murders and mayhem we'll be causing will be justified? Or will it not be justified and will that be a point? (to explain, how can we not get in trouble by some authority figures in-game) In previous games, there was essentially wars going on. But in this case, it doesn't seem to be a war. Well, we'll have to wait and see.

Everything that lives is designed to end.Perhaps this will be the one where we won't be toting full auto weapons? More rifles, shotguns, crossbows and the ilk?
Maybe there's more of the survival element of the Far Cry's in this one?
We just had a Far Cry game in Primal where there were zero firearms. Give us something.
True - maybe this one will be less crazy sandbox shooter than the last few and carry on Primals more restricted approach?
That Reddit post did say that this game might focus more on survival aspect, so it's likely to go that way, now that I think about it.
Everything that lives is designed to end....why is the bad guy off brand Sacha Baron Cohen?
Also, get ready for some really angry comment sections, people. Such as the one of that same article, in fact.

And why is Daniel Bryan on the side?
Yeah, this is a bit more biting than the vague East Asian state run by a murderous British metrosexual.
Oh shit this is gonna be awesome.
I always wanted to play a game where you can shoot up rednecks & Christian religious extremists.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."
First teaser released:
This looks like it matches up rumors that the game would be set in Montana and involve you fighting Right Wing Militia Fanatics/Doomsday cultists.
