Hey, so I was wondering if you could clarify a few things about werebeasts.
When you say the older werebeasts have more control over their transformations, to what extent can they control it? Is it full control or are there still some limitations, even for the oldest? Apart from the increased strength, are there any other powers or such the beast-form gives? Is it the kind of transformation where clothes are magically unharmed or should they invest in stretch pants?
Sorry for the torrent of questions, I just like to know the hard and fast of these things to avoid doing the wrong thing in-game.
“Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?”Yeah, no it's totally fine. I made the vast majority of the Signup after a really late night so I'm aware some stuff is super vague.
Q:When you say the older werebeasts have more control over their transformations, to what extent can they control it? Is it full control or are there still some limitations, even for the oldest?
A: Basically it means that they can generally transform when not under a full moon. Additionally they also have more conscious control over their beast form, sort of like being able to point their beast form towards an enemy instead of just letting it rampage. Legitimately ancient ones (over 400) can control their beast form as if it were their own most who have lived with said beast form for a few years will be able to control it in the manner I mentioned before (pointing in the right direction).
Q: Apart from the increased strength, are there any other powers or such the beast-form gives? Is it the kind of transformation where clothes are magically unharmed or should they invest in stretch pants?
A: Stronger senses, for starters, strength is doubled compared to their human form, increased durability (silver weakness is increased by a fair bit too). And stretch pants would be a smart idea.
Ah, I understand that.
That all makes good sense, thanks for clarifying.
“Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?”This is a dumb question: I'm taking it that a Revenant can't regenerate like in The Crow?
Good to be backSo, we're gonna end up with very salty zombies after a few fights.
“Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?”"Stop cutting off my arm! Do you know how annoying it is to have to sew it back on every time we meet!?
Wooze looks at Glass with a 'please take her away' lookyo whatd he just say in the op dawg
Alright, so, gonna try to have the actual game up within the next few days, gonna try to keep signups open in the meanwhile so if you've got any friendos who want in, they're more than able to still sign up.

So how widespread is this war in the shadows? Is it mostly limited to Wayminster and nearby environs or is it all through the world/United States. Are there still ancient bastions of power operating back in the old world and do they stay in touch with the American branch? How do the Guardians of the Dawn function? I get that they're somewhat like Hunters from Supernatural, but are they an actual organization with hierarchy, pay, benefits, rules, mysterious benefactors that provide their funding and equipment? Or are we gonna have to get on like Sam and Dean do, running credit card scams or doing what jobs we can on the side to earn money?

A: It's Global, it just happens that the United States happens to harbor all four of the major factions in one city. The actual leaders of all four factions (The Order excepted) are in the Old World and mostly tend to stick to their own devices (though occasionally they'll send someone over to oversee things). The Hunt and Strigoi have a fair few outposts in the arctic circle, mostly for the lack of sunlight and how relatively free they are to be left to their own devices.

A: Gonna level with you, haven't watched an episode of Supernatural in my life. My inspiration was mostly based around your generic fantasy knightly/paladin order mixed with some modern vigilante groups. As for funding, it's pretty common for Guardians to abscond with any valuables they find on the bodies of their enemies and pawn them off through fences within the organization.
Just as an announcement to everyone else, Game starts within the next 48 hours, promise.

Ah, gotcha. Classic RPG murderhobos it is, then. Though that does raise a question. Would the Strigoi allow horror movies, TV shows, and books that showcase their weaknesses so blatantly, or would they take steps to interfere in the entertainment industry and publishers to make sure such genres don't gain popularity, perhaps even purposefully spreading misinformation (Stephenie Meyer was working for the Strigoi!) and promoting works that highlight the weaknesses of their enemies, aka making werewolf movies more popular.

The Strigoi as a whole don't particularly care about the whole Vampire media phenomenon, hell, some are okay with it because it makes it harder for people to believe that Vampires are actually real.
I suppose at this point the variety of media and tales detailing the myriad of takes on vampires/werewolves is confusing and inconsistent enough for them not to worry about it.
Also, if the Guardians kinda have to murderhobo their way through life (unless they have day jobs) - I wonder if there'd be some that intentionally target the richest of monsters to sell their shit. That is, killing for money rather than moral reasons.
“Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?”(Possibly stupid) Question: Is Sebastian in the cadre, or is it for me to decide?
Everything that lives is designed to end.Hmm, now there's the question of where to go. The obvious choice of the altercation with rogue werebeasts, the less obvious choice of a museum exhibit that is bound to attract vampires who want to make a name for themselves and claim a shiny, or the I-don't-even-know-if-I'm-supposed-to-know-about-it-in-character choice of setting up lots and lots of bombs around a pub.
relevant information:
useful article on the rights and responsibilities of neutral ground
the one time folks thought itd be a good idea to attack the country famous for being neutral
just ctrl-f "neutral" on this one
(do it if it's in character though because it could create some interesting interactions)

Interesting, and I'm aware of the ramifications, but as my character is a soldier who's fought in the War on Terror, he's also aware that this isn't a war, this is an invasion, and that he's part of the insurgency. Neutrality is all well and good, but the Guardians are not sitting in on that meeting and are not acknowledged by any of the other groups, meaning they are not bound by any treaties of neutrality, and one of the factions (Strigoi) are decidedly not neutral toward humans. He'd be willing to let the Hunt and the Order go, but Strigoi are the enemy. If anything he'd probably just set up UV floodlights pointed at all the doors and plaster all their cars with pictures of religious symbols.
This is of course, contingent on whether or not this meeting is a secret, or a "secret", akin to mob bosses meeting in public restaurants because the police can't do anything to them.
@Kaalban up to you bruv.
Also, like I said, in the IC thread, the Guardians were invited, but hadn't shown up yet, was gonna leave it to any of you Guardian d00ds to decide if you wanted them to join in.

Ah, I missed the parentheticals in my first read. I'll have to have my character sit out, then. While he won't bomb the place, he has issues with the Strigoi, and watching them divvy up the city amongst themselves like they owned it wouldn't sit well with him.
It seems there are an quite lot of werebeasts.
Or is it only a feeling?

Everything that lives is designed to end.I don't think any specific numbers were mentioned, though Eachiunn did say 'horde' which does imply the number is not insignificant.
“Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?”I'm somewhat curious as to why the Guardians haven't shown up at the meeting. Could it actually be a trap? After all, the most powerful members of each faction are present. A few large, well-placed bombs and lots of guns pointed at the building would effectively wipe out the majority of the upper hierarchy of each of the factions, leaving the Guardians as the most powerful, coordinated faction left in the city.
Talk amongst yourselves.
Try to keep IC stuff out of here if you'd be so kind. Avoid drama, you know the drill.
I'll make the actual game thread one of these days (within a week, probably)
