Rain Quest

The Discord is an interesting idea. What would its purpose be?

I don't have a Discord account yet, but since my brothers have accounts, I may get one soon.

I'm so sorry this took so long! Time really slipped away from me.

Joel points out the sign leading to the Town Hall, and tells Nina and Stanley that they should look there first. Stanley agrees, and Joel and Nina climb on his back, and walks them over to a large stone building. They hear a bunch of electronic voices clamoring inside. A sign posted outside says "Town Meeting: All are welcome to join", so our heroes enter the building.

There, they see a skeleton trying to teach monsters about Christmas. :P

There, they enter a huge room packed with small airplanes. Although they are mostly built from steampunkish parts, they have electric panels over their windshields, with lights for eyes and a speaker for a mouth. They are all shouting in robotic voices at the podium on the other side of the room, where a giant zeppelin, with a similar robotic face, is trying to calm them down. When the zeppelin sees our heroes, the airplanes turn around to look at them and stop talking.

"Greetings, visitors! Welcome to Aircraft Land! I'm Mayor Ferdinand. As you can see, we're a little... antsy right now. Perhaps you can help us make sense of this?"

Joel agrees.

"Well, it all started not too long ago, when a strange rock fell from the sky and landed on our town's factory..."

also, are these model airplanes (like remote controlled planes), or are these airplanes actual size (like, really really *really* friggin big compared to a smol raindrop and/or a shooting star)?

Somewhere in between. Like, maybe the size of a small car.

Joel asks Mayor Ferdinand for more information.

"This is Aircraft Land, a town inhabited by aircraft like us! We would have called it Aircraft Town, but... you know, aircraft land. ...Get it?"

"...Anyway. None of us remember who created the first of us, but they left us the factory so we could make more aircraft. We all work together to ship supplies to other lands, and perform other tasks."

"But since that rock hit the factory, we may not be able to continue!"

"If you can help us figure out what that rock is and get the factory running again, sure!"

Joel, Nina, and Stanley thank the Mayor, exit Town Hall, and go to the Factory. There they see part of a Solarite rock sticking out of the top, having crashed through the roof. The factory's big steel door is shut, and seems to be locked.

Joel attempts to open the door. It does not open. Joel cannot close the door, for it is already closed.

Joel examines the lock closely. It doesn't seem to have anything special on it. Joel leans in close to examine the lock when someone suddenly shouts from inside, startling him.

"HELP! Get us out of here! A madman is holding us hostage!"

"Shut up, you! I swear, if you tell them I'm here..." The lightning bolt pauses as he realizes that he just told everyone that he's there. "Oh. Great. Well, listen up, little... drop... thing... I'll come up with insulting nicknames for you all later, okay? But for now..."

"As you've doubtlessly heard by now, the second piece of Solarite has crashed through the roof of this building. I have it now, and with its power, I am keeping this factory sealed, and all its workers stuck inside!"

"I had a complex plan to get your Solarite in mind, but since you're already here... give me your piece of Solarite, or else I'll... KEEP EVERYONE LOCKED UP IN HERE!!! MUAHAHAHAHA!"

"Oh, and don't even think of going back to the mayor and asking for the key! I took it from the Town Hall while the mayor was distracted! MUAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!!!"

"So face it, your only choice is to give me that precious, glowing rock!"

"Oh yeah?" says Nina. "We'll find a way to save everyone without giving you power! Mua ha HA!"

Nina turns to Joel. "So, what's the plan?"

Joel tells the lightning bolt that he'll be back. "Of course you will! You have no choice!"

Joel and Nina hop on Stanley's back, and he takes them to the airport. It's a massive, wide-open space with lots of runways, a hangar, and an office. There doesn't seem to be anything on the runways, and there is a CLOSED sign on the office's door, so our heroes go to the hangar.

The hangar is a large building stocked with many, many wooden crates containing all sorts of objects. Near the entrance, some airplanes like the ones seen in the Town Hall are arguing. When they see our heroes, they stop talking, and one of them rolls over to meet Joel, Nina, and Stanley.

"Hello! You must be new here. Welcome to Aircraft Land! Uh, as you've probably seen, we're all kinda stressed out at the moment. The factory has been shut and locked down, and, well..." the airplane laughs awkwardly, "We really need that to not be happening. We have kind of a situation on our hands."
