I know Finn Jones got shit on back before season 1 came out when he said something about people being prejudiced against rich characters or something. That was a dumb thing for him to say. But honestly, that was his first time really in the spotlight, he was not used to it and he was defensive about the way the season turned out because they worked really hard on it. I get it, even if his martial arts skill was unrefined at that point, he put a lot of effort into trying to get the character as right as he could in the time he had.

Here’s hoping that Season 2 turns out better now that they’ve had a chance to do it the right way, with a showrunner focused on quality rather than simply delivering whatever he can on time.

There is a difference between shitting all over the show and shitting all over him. There is nothing positive about an actor getting harassed for a role he plays. Just ask Chris Pratt (who currently gets a lot of flak), or the poor kid who played Anakin in episode 1. I really fail to see the humour in him getting attacked.

Anyway, if I ignore the second half, Jessica Jones season 2 was pretty good, too. But I can't ignore the second half. That's like saying "why do you care about a little green on your bread, see how tasty the first bites look".

I'm incapable of disliking JJ season 2. Then again it wasn't any different to me compared to season 1.

Well in my opinion Jessica Jones Season 2 is quite different from Season 1. But not different worse. Or better, for that matter. I find them to be pretty much on par.

Personally my opinion on Season 2 goes more and more downhill the more I think about it. I don't hate it but I'd even rate it lower than Daredevil Season 2 at this point.

I don't think Claire is going to be in season 2 of Iron Fist, or season 3 of Daredevil for that matter. I say that on the grounds that, from what I can tell from social media feeds, Rosario Dawson has been in LA for most of the past few months, hanging with family, working on Jane the Virgin, and some other projects. She hasn't been in New York City much, if at all, during any of the filming of Daredevil season 3 or Iron Fist season 2, as far as I know. (I feel that Claire no longer has a place on Daredevil, and her role as a confidant to Matt has been rendered unnecessary now that Karen and Foggy both know Matt's secret. As for Iron Fist, I think Misty will be filling Claire's shoes. There's plenty of plot reasons for Claire to not be in every Defenders show in Phase 2.)

Season 1 of Jessica Jones is about a survivor of trauma rising up to challenge two psychotic misogynists....and Jeri. It is about triumph.

Season 2 is about Jessica Jones' heroes falling apart because they're all broken awful people.

I'd say with her essentially dating Luke, she's found a permanent place there.

Didn't expect it so early. Especially since DD Season 3 is also supposed to air this year. I'm really curious.

What? September already?

Can't wait!

Are we sure that Daredevil will air this year? It was widely assumed, but it kind of makes more sense to have it the first show in 2019 instead...but maybe they intend to air it over Christmas....

I'm guessing that they'll probably be releasing Daredevil around November 16th. Yes, two months after Iron Fist might be cutting it close with the time needed for promotion, but, the Friday before Thanksgiving has been the release date for the fall releases two of the last three years: with Jessica Jones season 1 in 2015 and The Punisher season 1 in 2017. I don't think they'd want to put Daredevil off until early 2019 lest they want to piss off Daredevil fans, plus it had been announced last year that Daredevil season 3 would have a fall 2018 release.

Of course, let's not forget that Jessica Jones season 2 was released with pretty little promotion, and its trailer was released with only about a month left before release. Luke Cage season 2 only had its first trailer about a month and a half before release. And with Daredevil season 3, well, they wrapped two months ago and still, we’ve gotten practically nothing: no promo shots, teasers, articles, nada…hell, there's a lot more paparazzi photos from the set of The Punisher season 2 at this point in time. I think I speak for a good portion of Daredevil fans when I say that I want some real information, beyond “someone caught them on a rooftop and that’s what all we’ve got” or “they’re prepping this upstate town to film scenes for a Karen Page backstory” (as much as I appreciate that they're finally exploring that plot point). I know the third season of Daredevil is being kept heavily under wraps, and that may just be because they want to focus on Iron Fist as that's the more immediate release, but still....we'll just have to wait for NYCC for the heavy Daredevil promotional work.

I'm still pretty sure that Iron Fist has fewer episodes, because that's the only explanation for why Iron Fist would be able to complete filming and post-production and come out first despite the fact it started filming a full month behind Daredevil.

New show runner has said he's a huge comic geek, and was attracted to Iron Fist to explore K'un-Lun and some other stuff which has made some tweeters/attendees at the panel guess that we might actually be seeing Danny fight Shou-Lao.

If this is true, then a reduced episode count actually makes a lot of sense. Same budget, less episodes = more money for each episode of Iron Fist to have good CGI. If any hero needs a bigger budget it would be Iron Fist. So shortening the episode count helps in freeing money that can be instead used for CGI.

I would take it...I don't care how long the season is as long as it looks good.

Though, small reminder, having a shorter season for The Defenders didn't really help with the narrative problems or pacing problems. Not at all.

I'm hoping there's less obnoxiously loud rap music this season.

So if the rap music was played at a lower volume that would be ok?

Or is the USA's most popular music genre just a no go?

Swanpride Since: Jun, 2013

It just doesn't particularly fit Iron Fist....especially not if you play it over his fighting scenes.

Here is the problem with that: Most Rap music is pretty slow. And if you play slow music over movement, they look slower. If you play fast music, they look faster. Which is exactly why the Mortal Combat theme song has this superfast beats, it makes everything look cooler.

Rap is great for Luke Cage, because nobody expects him to be fast, and him walking around to it makes him look cool. But in Danny's case, it just makes him look slow.

Rap can go well with a scene like in Luke Cage. You can feel Cornell simmering here. He can't gain a decisive victory over Luke, but he's done as much damage to him as he could.

Other times it's just kind of there to be... hip, like in Iron Fist. I don't really know why Danny likes this or, for that matter, how he was able to gain an appreciation for rap in Kun'Lun.

I think they wanted to foreshadow the eventual connection/friendship between Danny and Luke - note how we never hear rap in Jessica Jones or Daredevil - by having Danny train and "meditate" to rap. But that's wild mass guess.

[up]That is actually the one scene in Iron Fist where I felt that the music kind of worked, because it was a nice contrast to have this kind of music to meditative moves. Even if the finger fucking was kind of silly.
