She's real cute. The mischieving expression is especially charming.

Her voice seem to be too natural to be Vocaloid though.

I think she's speaking first, then makes the 3.D. modeling and makes sure its lips match her voice clips.

i've read from some random youtube commenters that the model is motion captured through a Kinect. which might very well be plausible, considering how many results a search on the topic brings up. not too sure if the Kinect can account for her facial expressions, though. that might be manually done. there were a few times i've noticed on some A.I. Games videos where an expression lingered just a little bit too long (e.g. the parts of her P.T. videos where she gets shocked).

on another note... i'm honestly kind of impressed how many western PC games show up on the A.I. Games channel, considering how depressingly outdated and out of touch PC gaming over there is.

I realize this thread has now not been posted in in months but I must correct a few misconceptions about Kizuna Ai.

She is not voiced by a vocaloid, her VA is a real person, and while we're still not 100% sure there's some evidence it's one of the K-On! veterans. There are a few livestreams she's done where she breaks character and lapses into her normal voice (eg: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7D9HPeg3kr0).

And while no one is entirely sure how the mo-capping is done (the Kinect thing prior mentioned is *probably* true but again we're not entirely sure), we do know it's done live, as evidenced by the livestreams existing (and she does interact with her chat and such so it's not pre-recorded). The youtube videos are probably touched up after the fact, but the actual process is done in real time.

I love everything about her, except her gambling addiction (poor donators!). The sound when she appears is adorable, and every motion she takes and everything she says seems calculated by a post-human intelligence. (Ok, or maybe an awesome Dream Team composed of the best scenarists, psychologists and seiyuu on the planet.)
