"Person in distress" recording to lure hero into trap?

I have noticed a recurring kind of plot device that I noticed hasn't been talked about much online. It involves some kind of antagonist setting up a recording (usually on a record player) of a specific character (usually a damsel in distress) crying out for help, to lure the protagonist/hero into some kind of trap. Here are the examples I know where it happened:

  • The Underdog story arc "The Great Gold Robbery" has Riff-Raff (in his debut appearance) send up Sweet Polly Purebred in a hot-air balloon, along with many other balloons, each with a record player that is playing a record of Polly shouting "Help!" over and over, so Underdog can leave his post guarding a trainload of gold and attempt to save Sweet Polly, but he would be confused by the recordings it would take him hours to find the real Polly, while Riff-Raff and his thugs crash the train and steal the gold. Underdog does get quite confused; at one point he switches off one record player, causing the sound to wear out like "HEE Eeelllllllpppp...", and at another, he's so frustrated he grabs the record and breaks it (a case of Vinyl Shatters!)
  • "The Perils of Penelope Pitstop" episode "Wild West Peril" did the same thing, where the Hooded Claw set up a teepee perched halfway off a cliff, with an old-fashioned record player inside it playing a record of Penelope yelling "Help!" (or in this case, "Hayalp!") over and over. It would lure the Ant Hill Mob, but they would fall through the cliff opening and land on a seesaw that would trigger the trap the real Penelope is a victim of. And just like the Underdog example, it also involves the record wearing down.
  • The "George of the Jungle" episode "Big Flop at the Big Top" involves the two criminals Tiger and Weevil attempting to lure George into a trap twice, using a record of a damsel in distress crying for help (a generic June Foray one), also using an old gramophone (like "Penelope Pitstop" did.) The recording even goes as far to say "HELP! MURDER! POLICE!" and it's also lampshaded, with the female voice suddenly sounding like a phone operator and saying "This has been a recorded message."
  • The spring 1995 "Calvin And Hobbes" story arc where Susie comes over to Calvin's house while waiting for her mom to come home featured this; Calvin and Hobbes's latest G.R.O.S.S. plan has them set up a tape recorder in the hall closet with a recording of Calvin yelling that he's stuck in the closet and needs Susie to get him out. Susie falls for it, and once she's in the closet and discovers the tape recorder, Calvin and Hobbes slam the door shut on her and trap her inside, but of course, Calvin's mom hears this and catches him, while Calvin pretends to be innocent.

Any more examples I'm missing? Is there already a trope somewhat like this, or would this be a new one?
