• While subject to almost as much Ship-to-Ship Combat as her daddy, the majority of fans of X-23 still resent Marjorie Liu splitting up X and Hellion during the Baby Sitting arc of her solo series, and mentioning that arc is certain to cause much gnashing of teeth. Especially after Brian Michael Bendis hamfistedly tossed her together with O5!Angel, despite them having had no prior interaction before he hooked them up.

I don't think this counts. Looking on at the usual sites it seems more people ship her with Jubilee. Though as someone unfamiliar with her comics I can't tell why.

Who knows why anyone ships anyone, it’s just how shippers are. Anyway sounds like a cut.

I’m curious, what are these "usual sites" you use to check ships?

Tumblr, Twitter, Reddit, FF.Net, AO3, and other such sites. They are the easiest place to find shippers in my experience.

Would Sweeney Todd/Mrs. Lovett be worth an entry? While Lovett is in love with Todd, he is wholly devoted to his wife. Even then most fans prefer to pair him with Lovett.

If he has another canon pairing, then yeah, I’d say that counts.

• FlameOmen: As a result of Bette Kane's return to the Flamebird mantle during Dawn of DC (specifically, the anthology DC's Legion of Bloom) bringing a brand new popularity to the character, one major ship to come out is the pairing of Flamebird and Omen (aka Lilith Clay) as a result of fans rereading Bette's appearances and noticing her Les Yay tendencies towards Lilith (as well as Lilith being a Tsundere in general).

Now I have not read any of these but do either have a canon relationship.

From YMMV.Until Dawn (I have brought them up before but didn't get much feedback):

• Fan-Preferred Couple:
  • Josh is popularly paired with either Sam or Chris, the latter despite Chris and Ashley's canonical mutual feelings and the Ship Tease between Josh and the aforementioned Sam. Sam/Josh sound creator prefer but Josh and Chris count easily.
  • Sam and Mike are also getting this despite Mike dating Jessica and Sam's undetermined feelings for Josh. A lot has to do with them essentially being the game's main leads who cannot die until the last chapter and who develop a mutual dependence on each other as the game progresses. Both of their relationship bars can be completely full for each other at the end. Sam/Josh is easily more popular and so is Mike/Jessica but barely.
  • Matt and Jessica get this treatment as well, as some fans think they deserve better than their current partners who may have been cheating on them with each other, and their last scenario can potentially be together, with Matt protecting and helping a badly injured Jessica, with a lot of concern for her. Their canon ones are more popular from what I can tell.
  • In Les Yay circles, Jessica and Emily are pretty popular despite that their screentime together is being at each others throats. Not as popular as their canon ones.
  • Sam and Beth are also popular in Les Yay circles despite minimal interaction at all before Beth kicks the bucket. Maybe? Like Beth has a crush on Mike but I am unsure if that counts as creator preferred because it is onesided.

Thoughts?

I agree with it all but would say to cut the last one. However, isn't it Hannah who has the one-sided crush on Mike? I don't remember any feelings from Beth? I don't think Beth has any creator preferred ship, and Sam has more popular ships so I would cut the entry on that basis.

  • Enough comments appeared on the threads shipping Skitter and Clockblocker together that the author had Clockblocker explicitly sink it in canon.
  • Beyond Skitter×Clockblocker, other pairings like Skitter×Panacea and Skitter×Tattletale tend to be much more popular than canon pairing Skitter×Grue.

I am going to be blunt. I don't think the first one counts. Looking around the fandom it is not that popular. It has fans but it is massively overshadowed by other ships for Skitter. Skitter's most popular by far is with Tattletale and I was thinking of rewriting it to focus solely on that pairing as no other pairing comes close to it in the fandom. Thoughts?
