Well well well...chapter 97 finally gives us some romantic progress after being stuck in neutral since the first few chapters. And I am wondering how long Fafnir is going to be stuck as a woman, since he doesn't seem to mind.

Fafnir finally gets his own spin-off.

That is FOUR spinoffs for a manga that crested a hundred chapters only a month ago. Is that some kind of record?

So I started Kobayashi ages ago.

But does multiple spin-offs discourage anyone else from starting reading a series? Especially the ones focused on a particular popular character.

I know its mostly baseless, but I always feel like I'll be missing out on the most important characterization for those characters if I don't also follow the spinoffs concurrently.

Not really, the main series is fairly self-contained. The one spinoff that you might have to read is Irma's, for her and Tohru's backstory, and even then its just added details to their rivalry.
