Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon

The Christmas episode was really good, yes. Though that just makes the lack in the other episodes more noticeable, since we know they're capable of getting material out of those characters.

The Christmas episode showed the only time all 5 main dragon characters were in the same room together at once.

It was also filler.

Was there a time in the manga where that happened?

I think the only times when all five dragons were really together (mind you Elma was introduced way after everyone else) was in the hot spring chapter and flower viewing chapter.

<finished Chapter 42> Heh, Kobayashi as a catgirl is fine too. I can't wait to see the Animated Adaptation of this chapter; hell, they could've included it in the first season, since Iruru only gets one single-panel scene that doesn't really need her specifically.

Probably should make a note that in the end of volume 2, Cool Kyoushinjya did mention that he didn't do any real research when designing Tohru. He just made her the way he wanted. Also how Lucoa's dragon form still hasn't been shown in the manga.

No WONDER the only time you see Lucao's dragon form in the anime is in that 1-second-long shot in the opening and absolutely never again! :O

So I was looking at my usual manga reading place, and translation for chapter 43 has been up for some time. Tohru takes a role of patrolling her territory.

So might as well ask this now: Season 2 of the anime when?

Not for many years, if ever, given Kyo Ani's habit of "One and Done" series. The material left is quite thin, even with the studio stretching some stories out.

Yeah, they covered almost all of the available chapters and even added in some new stuff (a lot of the stuff with Elma, the whole Christmas episode, I'm inclined to say the beach scenes too?). Really the only major thread left is the shortstack chaos dragon.

So from last update I looked, chapters 44-46 has been translated, but currently they are only uploaded to 4chan seemingly.

I saw someone say that the Blu Ray sales weren't fantastic.

So that could mean its less likely we get another season.

Which would be a shame.

On one hand, Kyo Ani doesn't really care how well their shows do. On the other, I don't think the Iruru arc is worth animating in the first place

It's really not, honestly. If they had wanted to cram it in they could have covered it in one episode, or just cut down the number of clips with Lucoa perving on Shota.

I respectfully disagree on the subject of Iruru.

Thing is, it's hard to argue that she would have brought much more to a 12-episode series. Yeah, they could have done her arc instead of the Christmas pageant, but the other dragons were already suffering from lack of development by that point, and introducing another one wouldn't have helped.

Also, as much as two of the show's running gags are 'Kanna's friend is inappropriate' and 'Lucoa sexually harasses a young boy', I don't think Iruru's design would really have helped the show any.

Iruru also needlessly upstages the other dragon that was Tohru's rival right?

I mean, she kind of does in that she actually tries to challenge Tohru instead of getting distracted by baked goods, but no, the whole thing lasts about two chapters and one of those is a montage of Kobayashi trying to deal with being a guy for a day.

it seems that translation dump has finished. 44 is about when Tohru and Elma first met, 45 is about Saikawa meeting up with Iruru, 46 is about Shouta and Lucoa, and 47 is about maid cafes.

So new chapters once again. Chapter 48 is cast going to a festival, 49 is about relaxation, 50 is about amusement parks, and 51 is Iruru finally stopping to be a freeloader.

The Festival chapter was pretty sweet.
