This is a pretty good list on typical blasters. Also, the DL-44 Heavy Blaster Pistol, the DH-17 Blaster, and the A280 blaster rifle are pretty common Rebel Alliance weapons.

I'll probably give my dude an A280-CFE or something, that's the one Cassian uses in the movie.

Time for my former Imperial Pilot and his scavenged droid.

  • Name: Rai Almon
  • Appearance: Pale skin, 1.8 meters in height, slick black hair cut short, small box beard, tends to wear his old imperial clothing as he doesn't have much else (Imperial coat and work pants, Pilot uniform when flying certain ships), left arm has been entirely replaced with a silver metal cybernetic, small metal strip on left side of head
  • Species, Age, and Gender: Human, 29, Male
  • Equipment: A280 Blaster Rifle, A180 Blaster Pistol
  • Abilities/Skills: Decent aim with blaster rifle, good aim with blaster pistol, good piloting skills, Cybernetic arm hits hard, droid repair knowledge
  • Personality: Outgoing and somewhat friendly, though mostly terrified being a former Empire employee, tends to just listen to what people say and avoid trouble. Not above criticizing others if he feels the idea is exceptionally bad. Tends to crush things with left hand when agitated enough. Completely fearless behind a pilot's seat/ Humor is mostly gallows in sense "Well nothing like death by turbolasers, my favorite way to die".
  • Backstory: Rai's family has been in the Empire for as long as he can remember, and as long as he can remember, it sucked. They weren't anyone special, and dissent was highly criticized meaning little was pleasant. Rai sought to rise through the ranks by taking up piloting and serving the Empire either as a TIE Fighter (he got through training but it never got anywhere too fast) but ended up serving as a cargo pilot. A accident during one of his various flights ended with him losing his left arm and getting a cybernetic replacement. During his many travels he eventually started studying the maintenance of droids, something that became too common as he eventually needed to fix the Astromechs sent to service his ship, which lead to him eventually fixing up a Security Droid called K-7. When Rai caught wind of the Rebel Alliance, he set himself on the fast track to meet up with them bringing knowledge of Empire Flight paths and installations. He volunteered for Trouble Squad after flying for the Alliance's cargo missions hoping it would bring something new, and he'd get less odd looks from people who are supposed to be on his side.

  • Name: K-7IU
  • Appearance: A basic K-X series unit heavily modified has Red Photoreceptors while most metal parts have been given a black paint. 2.1336 in height.
  • Species, Age, and Gender: Droid, 30s, Masculine Programming
  • Equipment: DL-44 Blaster and 4 thermal detonators
  • Abilities/Skills: Security Model droid, meant to respond quickly to a problem with little effort, has superior strength to the average human and can survive more blaster bolts than most unprotected humanoids. Ion weapons pose problems. Forearms have been modified with better computer spikes. Brain unit contains some protocol droid language chips for translation. Good aim thanks to good quality targeting computers
  • Personality: Abrasive and sarcastic, will often voice, quite bluntly how bad a plan is. Not above criticizing his companion or bemoaning his existence. "I was designed for security, I'd guard a installation here, walk around in a set routine there. My biggest concerns were with rebels breaking in. What went wrong?" Completely loyal to Rai for fixing him and not letting him become scrap. Likes to joke around in mean ways, such as taking on a HK verbal tic "Upbeat: You will all die one day and I'll be alone!"
  • Backstory: Kay-Seven was a standard K-X series unit, until accidents involving overloading computer systems damaged him and several stormtroopers, with so much of him heavily damaged the Empire found it cheaper just to replace him. Rai came along and bought the scrap remains and took him back to his barracks, working on Kay in his spare time often repairing him with what pieces he could find. When Kay was finally put back online, he thanked Rai and vowed to stay by his side. When Rai left and joined the Alliance and Trouble Squad, as much as Kay suggested otherwise, he followed regardless.

Anything need changing?

They look good to me! The only thing I want to ask you to edit in is the number of thermal detonators that K-7IU has on him - somewhere from 1-4 would be acceptable. But that's easily fixed so I'm going to go ahead and formally accept you. However, I'm a tad confused about a part about Rai's backstory. It said he wanted to serve the Empire as either a cargo pilot or TIE pilot. Which one did he end up choosing?

Other than that minor quibble about the grenades, I'll go ahead and add you to the list of accepted characters on the first post.

  • Name: Jaro, nickname/callsign "Trailblazer", clone name CC-1911
  • Appearance: A clone of Jango Fett. Wears Dark Trooper armor. Left eye is cybernetic. Stands 1.83 meters in his armor.
  • Species, Age, and Gender: Human clone cyborg, 34 (by the calendar, about 50 in human age), male.
  • Equipment :
  • Dark Trooper Armor: A set of what is effectively gray-tinted stormtrooper armor. Could be considered about medium-armor in practice, and has all of the air supply and environmental protections and sensors one finds in standard Stormtrooper armor - it has belt pouches for storing stuff, an (unpowered) fibercord grappling hook stored in one said belt pouch, communications in the helmet, holsters for pistols, and points for placing rifle slings. It has an integrated jump pack that lacks the finesse of a jetpack, but can be used for extremely quick vertical gain of about 20 meters, and can let him coast down slowly when falling.
  • A280-CFE Blaster Rifle: A blaster rifle that can be readily toggled between a fast-shooting assault rifle mode, and a high-power slow-shooting sniper rifle configuration. The pistol "core" can be pulled out from the rest of the rifle and used as a handgun.
  • Vibroknuckler: Left hand.
  • Abilities/Skills :
    • Cyborg: About seventy percent of Jaro's body has been replaced by cybernetics and prosthetics, including both his legs, left arm, and a good amount of his organs. As a result he doesn't suffer from exhaustion or a need to sleep, and he is a decent margin stronger than he used to be as a human. Most notably, his legs are incredibly strong, being reinforced to let him survive jumps down from great heights without issue. His left eye is cybernetic, possessing enhanced vision modes.
    • Imperial Training: As a clone of Jango Fett manufactured by the Kaminoans, Jaro received extensive military training for combat and tactics. Specifically, as a clone commander he received not only the standard training, but flash-training to fulfill his advanced role and was also bred with extra capacity for autonomy, tactical thinking and coordination. Further training as a Dark Trooper gave him more advanced know-how with how to rapidly manipulate height and distance in battlefields and urban environments. Also knows how to speak Mando'a.
    • Military Equipment: Extensive training and experience allow Jaro to be able to maintain, repair, and modify weapons and armor to a good degree by either using aftermarket components, or things sufficiently close enough.
  • Personality : Gruff and hardboiled from being born to do nothing but fight. He has a moderate sense of honor that he falls back upon in times of great difficulty, which provides glimpses at the man underneath the machine.
  • Backstory : Born and grown on Kamino as a Clone Commander, Jaro fought for the Republic, and then Empire, for several years. Around 17 BBY, after he was severely injured by a grenade, he was converted to a Dark Trooper as part of the Phase Zero prototypes, most of his body replaced with cybernetics and prosthetics, his DNA modified to counteract the advanced aging clone troopers faced, given training, and outfitted with new armor. Putting down robots, rebels, and rogue Jedi at first had been easy enough on his conscience, but as the Empire started employing their Stormtroopers against less-tactical targets, he eventually abandoned his duties rather than continue doing such dark deeds for the Empire, and had his control implant removed in a back alley by a doctor of questionable ethics. Born and bred to be someone who gives and takes orders, he didn't actually know what to do at that point, simply wandering the Outer Rim for several years as a mercenary and vagabond until finding purpose in the Rebellion.

Jaro looks mostly good. I think it will make for some interesting conversations between him and Jagryn since Jaro looks exactly how Jagryn's father looked like. Just a couple of issues I have. First, looking at the Phase 0 Dark Troopers page on Wookieepedia, I didn't really see anything about DNA modification to reverse the aging process. I can't really find anything about the reversal of the double aging of the clones, so unless I'm mistaken, can you change your signup to reflect that? Since your character is a cyborg, it doesn't really affect his fighting ability but his face would probably look more like a sixty year old Temuera Morrison than a thirty year old Temuera Morrison.

Secondly, how did your character remove his inhibitor chip? I don't think he would have been allowed to strike out and rebel with that thing still on. You could say that it got damaged during the explosion that injured him or you could say he heeded the rumors between clones that there was an inhibitor chip and removed it himself. Or something else - just make an edit into the backstory section on how it's gone. Other than that, he looks good to go.

The PZ troopers were made as a way to send "old" troopers into the field, so I assumed they did something to deal with the aging. They were sending in other PZ troopers into battles well after the Battle of Yavin, and without doing something about the aging, they would be nearly "seventy" years old by then, which seems a little old for the Empire to be sending humans into battle, even cyborgs. But 16 years of double-aging and 18 years of regular aging would make him about "fifty" which I feel is a more reasonable age for him and the other PZ troopers to be.

Also for the inhibitor chip, it's not really clear exactly how they work, but it seems as though they're not an always-on deal for commanding troopers, just when specifically ordered (like Order 66) so I was thinking he probably just turned off his radio to not be able to hear any orders, and then went to some remote planet and found a back-alley doctor to take it out, does that work?

Well, in Battlefront II, the 501st Legion was still in combat at the Battle of Hoth, meaning they were also around seventy years old. However, that does seem weird. I did find an article on Wookieepedia about a supposed study the Empire did on tissue regeneration to maybe stop advanced aging. Maybe we can say they did something like that in the PZ program (although, given that more than just PZ trooper were in the 501st, they probably did that to most of the aged troops). So "around fifty" seems fine for an age. Like I said, with most of his organs and such being replaced by cybernetics, it shouldn't matter too much.

And sure, what you said about the inhibitor chip makes sense. Now that I think about it, there was an episode of the Clone Wars where a clone defects to the Separatists and he still had his inhibitor chip so I guess clones can have rebellious thoughts and actions, provided they aren't overrided by the chip. We could even tie that into the tissue regeneration and say that maybe he could have gone to this back-alley doctor to get some more work done and the doctor discovered the chip and asked Jaro if he wanted it removed or something.

Incidentally, was your character in the 501st Legion? Anyways, what you said works for me. I'll go ahead and formally accept it. Also, I still find it amusing that a man in clone trooper armor, a former Imperial pilot, an Imperial security droid, an Imperial governor's daughter, and a former Dark Trooper make up this team. If the Alliance ever gets wind of a traitor within their ranks, I feel like Trouble Squad is going to be the first people they question grin.

Not from the 501st, since I don't want to have to deal with someone having been present for practically every major event in recent history, and every episode of the Clone Wars. Especially since I don't remember them allsurprised

If I absolutely need to make up a number I can, but otherwise all I have is that he fought for "the Republic/Empire" in "the army" during "the war".[lol]

  • Name: GuR'Rrru'RrRuh (Name given in Imperial documents as Gur)
  • Appearance: Back home, he's the definition of beauty.
  • Species, Age, Gender: Tusken Raider, 21, Male
  • Equipment:
    • Gaffi Stick: A simple bludgeoning staff with a pointy bit on the end. Gur's particular stick, befitting his status, is a much more lavishly decorated model with golden inlay and the pearl of a Greater Krayt Dragon's intestine in the handle. It's pimpin'.
    • Tusken Cycler: A more primitive rifle, firing solid rounds enveloped in energy instead of traditional blaster shots. Despite its comparatively ancient tech, it's still a rifle, and more importantly a very accurate rifle in the hands of someone who knows how to work with the quirks of the system. Has a simplistic scope on top for sniping action.
    • Translation Device: A simple, small computer mounted at the neck which translates the extremely loud language of Tusken into Galactic Basic. Presumably, it could be programmed to work with other languages, but he's not going to figure it out. Gur knows how to turn it on and off.
  • Abilities:
    • Survival In The Wastes: Living in a semi-nomadic society in a world where the most technologically-advanced people apparently have to farm moisture to get by, he knows how to thrive. An expert tracker, huntsman and survivalist, in the very off-chance that this group of people has to eek out a life in the wilderness he's their man. Most at home in deserts, but many things carry over from environment to environment.
    • Strong Enough To Rip The Ears Off a Gundark: This isn't hyperbole. He's buff.
    • Good Shot: Unlike some people, he totally would win competitions if they allowed Sand People to enter. He's a crack marksman able to hit targets from great distances, skilled in closer-range engagements, and one of the best in all the tribes. The downside is that he's overly used to his Cycler's quirks. While he could learn to use more modern rifles, it would take some time for him to get used to them.
    • Complete Lack of Education: He lives in a semi-nomadic society in a world where the most technologically-advanced people have to farm moisture to get by, and he's not part of those people. Though he's got a much wider array of knowledge about the world than his tribesmen, its still very limited. This last month has been a learning experience and a half.
  • Personality: Remarkably, he's a lot more mellow than most of his kin, which isn't really saying anything because they torture and sacrifice outworlders for sport and profit. Though he can't say he enjoys other races for having colonized his home and done nothing but be a nuisance, he's entirely willing to work with them in order to complete his goal. The idea of being some kind of messiah has gotten to his head a little bit, but he's not completely insufferable about it. When Gur gets worked into a rhythm of fighting it can be hard to convince him to retreat. Very spiritual.
  • Backstory: The shamanistic religion of the Sand People centers around contacting and speaking with the spirits of dead ancestors long past. They impart wisdom, hint towards the future, and speak of oncoming danger. As of late, it seems that they've been speaking of danger very often. According to them there will be some cataclysmic event that will scour life from the already barren wastes, putting the way of life for the Tusken in mortal danger, and there's only one way to stop it. The shamans of many tribes convened 20 years ago, and they unanimously chose one young boy among their kind to be the one who will stop this future.
    • Gur was then trained by the seasoned hunters and warriors of the mightiest tribes, taken on spirit journeys and treated like royalty throughout the wastes. The prophecies told that he would travel to other worlds and see things no other man has seen, kill mighty beasts throughout the galaxy, and be spoken of by the Storytellers for all time! When news of the destruction of the Death Star, a weapon capable of destroying entire worlds trickled down even to the tribes (about a year and a half after it happened) it was decided that it would be time. Gur was given a trove of riches scavenged from those outworlders that had been killed, told to travel to the foreign city of Mos Espa, take a ride out into the stars and convene with the spirits...
      • Which he would've done if he didn't get stopped by an Imperial patrol before he could even step foot into town, his wealth confiscated and immediately thrown into prison. These were dark times for our hero. He would eventually be rescued from a minor prison complex during a raid by the Alliance, and he was convinced these Rebels would be the path to which his destiny must be achieved. Also, he's very far away from Tatooine, and can't exactly hitch a ride back there.

Gur looks good to me and it's nice to have some more alien diversity on the team cool. You are accepted, my good man. I'll add you to the list of formally accepted characters on the first post in this thread.

In other news...I think I'll be posting the discussion thread tomorrow morning although, depending on how productive I am tonight. Hopefully, we can start this game pretty soon. Is there anyone besides SabresEdge who still plans on playing but hasn't posted a signup yet? No rush but it'd be nice to get a headcount. I plan on leaving the signups open as long as the RP is going so newcomers are always welcome. As for when the actual game will start, I was thinking after Christmas sometime would probably be good so no one is away or busy during the holidays. What does everyone's schedule look like?
