The first part is not an issue, as we have permission from xkcd to use the whole strip for cases in which we need the whole strip or one of their single panel comics.

I agree that any one of the last three panels would be good with the top banner panel and I like the Engineering Major one the best, as well

Just so we're clear, those three panels aren't the only ones in the comic; it's a 4-panel comic, I only showed three panels so that we wouldn't be using the whole comic. Here's all 4 panels, in case we want to use any other combination of them.

Firstly, it uses the whole comic.
Secondly, I'm not sure what if anything the visuals add. The characters are drawn without facial expressions, after all. Why not just make it a page quotation instead?
