So, Where's the trailer?
"We be we baby!"I can't post links since I'm a new user.
"Just keep swimming!" - DoryJust look up Cars 3 teaser trailer- its pretty much the first thing that pops up.
Finding Dory was a good film, it just isn't a good sequel. Cars 3 on the other hand, though I had my doubts (and still kind of do) feels a lot more necessary to the overall story- I just hope the hype the trailer brought is lived up to.
Bide your time, and Hold out Hope — GANKUTSUOU Just because it's irrational, doesn't mean it's not real. That's good to hear about Dory. I didn't think it would be terrible, I mean it has a character I love and a premise that looks promising. But still, glad to hear it. I'm still excited to watch it.
"Just keep swimming!" - DoryWhat, will they kill Mc Queen, or make him into the next Doc?
Wake me up at your own risk. When I saw that, I was like "Damn". What happened to the colorful wonderful less grim world of Disney?
"We be we baby!"I enjoy watching this kind of world better, but that's mainly cause Pixar movies are the ones I prefer.
"Just keep swimming!" - DoryFinding Dory is eons better than The Good Dinosaur, Monsters University, and Brave. Something tells me these last few films of the decade will be really good. I'm shocked how much I am looking forward to Cars 3.
I have A LOT to say about a LOT of things, and NO little minded opinions will hold MY opinion back.Inside Out is an absolute gem. It alone proves Pixar is not dead, and it came after most average-to-bad movies. Finding Dory is pretty solid too. Still, Cars 3 feels a lot less interesting than The Incredibles 2.
I'm not sold, but I am intrigued. This is the first time I've actually been interested in a Cars movie.
I'm with you on being excited for Cars 3, which seems especially strange as I'm not much of a fan of the Cars series.
Bide your time, and Hold out Hope — GANKUTSUOU Just because it's irrational, doesn't mean it's not real.I'll reserve judgement until they clarify what really happened in the trailer. But I really hope its not a "McQueen disabled forever" plot, I don't think I would like it.

Personally, I'm willing to give Cars 3 a shot, even though I'm not sure. Trying to make us emotional about Cars will either work well or work terribly, but this is Pixar...
The second teaser was pretty simple, but how they are marketing the film is fascinating to me.

New theme music also a boxBoth Monsters University and Finding Dory were decent, competently made films with hints of the storytelling sensibilities that make their past efforts great, but ultimately both films failed to justify their existence because they didn't feel like meaningful additions to the previous movies' plots. I mean, people frequently point out how all Toy Story movies have the same basic plot but they all added something new and interesting that made them wortwhile additions.
I don't really think Brave's problem was that it was a fantasy setting, it was just really, really mediocre and pedestrian for a Pixar movie.

Did we really need a trailer for Cruz showcasing her like a sexy woman?

Did Planes and its sequel not drive enough merchandise for Disney, or something?
So the plot is "millennials suck"?
Yeah, fuck this movie.
Sounds less to me like "Millennials Suck" and more like "This is Cars 1 Again", because Lightning Mc Queen was pretty much the same in the first movie: "I'm a famous race car and I deserve whatever I want and should suffer no consequences!"
The phrasing though is pretty rough.
Yeah it seems to be about the plot boomeranging back to Cars 1, just with the roles flipped (and Lightning's the old-school about to be replaced by the new).
If it's just that, could be interesting. If it does become infected with the dreaded Millenial hate, then we're all doomed.

"All you Fascists bound to lose."
Surprisingly enough, I don't think there's a discussion on this.
I saw the trailer and...wow. Just...wow.
OK, let me backtrack a bit. I want to say that I feel the public has been a little too hard on Cars. While it's not Pixar's best film, it's still pretty cool—-the first one, at least. It reminds me of the old Chevron commercials, which were always pretty cute.
The sequel is another matter. I haven't watched it or the first one in full, but from what I can tell the second took out a lot of the racing and desert scenery that sort of gave the first one it's edge, instead turning it into a storyline that could be done...without cars, I guess. So yeah, I can understand the flack the first one might have gotten then.
But then there's the fact that Pixar has since released 2 films which have premises that instantly make them duds in my book. Brave is a Disney movie with Pixar's name stamped onto it, and I'm sorry, but I can't really tolerate most Disney films (even if they are better than Dreamworks). And Fantasy just isn't what Pixar is.
And then you've got The Good Dinosaur. Just...WHY? The designs of every character look just ugly and cartoonish, the story seems to borrow entirely from The Lion King, Ice Age, and The Land Before Time, and...god, it's just bad. But the water looks realistic.
That's not even mentioning Monsters University—-which had a good film to fall back on, but it was a prequel which pretty much made it a lost cause in my book—-and Finding Dory, which I have yet to see, but which I've heard didn't live up to Finding Nemo, and most of the other Pixar classics. Which saddens me greatly, since you can probably tell I'm a Dory fan and had really big hopes for her movie.
OK, I've gone into a huge rant about Pixar's history over the last half-decade. This all comes from the fact that there's a surprising chance that the franchise that put Pixar into this slump in 2011 could finally pull the company out of it—-the way we thought Inside Out was going to.
