The failure to acknowledge the in-universe acknowledgement that is the key point of this trope.
Ideas on a proposed rename (could Have Avoided This Acknowledgement)?

I think Discar previously proposed that we should just custom wiki word the name to include quotes, which would make the acknowledgement more apparent since it will look like dialogue. "Could Have Avoided This" Plot (or some other capitalization).

I endorse the idea.
it's not a "plot" trope so the name shouldn't end that way.
Maybe Plot Avoidance Retrospection or along those lines.
We don't need justice when we can forgive. We don't need tolerance when we can love.
Or, as I said in the previous page, Unnecessary Plot Realization. Granted, that would need a note in the description clarifying it's (unnecessary plot) realization, not unnecessary (plot realization).

optionally replacing 'too late' with something that begins with s, if anyone can think of such a thing

Another day, another load of misuse.
Adding "Avoidable Plot Realization" and "Avoidable Conflict Realization" as possible renames.
Can we put this up to a crowner yet?

Pretty much all the new additions since I last checked are misuses. I'd say more drastic measures should be called for.
