I can go with that suggestion.
(Annoyed grunt)That overly explosive effect could hardly have been anticipated by Garfield. Current is meh as well.

While the current isn't too bad ( I've not played any of the Mario Games, but it looks to me like Mario has trapped himself under that row of blocks with no way out), I really like the last four panels of the Garfield suggestion.

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.The suggestion can work.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportThe current is a bad case of Fan Myopia, as someone who doesn't like the Mario series (Sonic is better ), I can't tell how Mario screwed up in the picture.
Just edit the suggestion a bit and it'll be OK IMO.

I find that the Garfield suggestion first shows something that comes out of left field, and second it's only technically not using the entire strip. It's the entire joke. I vote against it.
Check out my fanfiction!...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.
I'm all for 8.
''“You want a planet? I’ll give you a planet! Heck, I’ll give you your own solar system! No, I’ll give you a house... in Boca Raton!Duck, the issue with using the whole strip is copyright, not plot or joke. The suggestion is less than half the frames, it is not anything like using the whole strip from a copyright standpoint.
As for the reaction being completely unforeseen, Odie is not an unknown quantity to Garfield. I believe he would have a pretty good idea of what the reaction would be, in general.

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Are you certain about that, Madrugada? I would think there would be a difference between taking an excerpt from a work and producing an abridged version of the work, even if both are the same length.
(And for the record, four panels of a seven-panel strip is not less than half.)
I also object to using more than half of this work.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.edited 28th Nov '16 1:45:55 AM by eroock
That is 2/3 of a strip, even worse IMO.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Agreed, 2 panels of 3 is technically worse than 4 of 7. The Garfield pic could work without the actual sneeze panel but the others would need to be stacked vertically to make the panels legible.
If anyone knows of a different trope that pic would be better suited for, I'm all ears.
8 is better then currant, but even 8 isn't that strong.
I have no idea how that fits, just based on what's going on there.
Would it make any difference to replace the last panel with something of the genie trapped in said robot dog?
What is going on?
''“You want a planet? I’ll give you a planet! Heck, I’ll give you your own solar system! No, I’ll give you a house... in Boca Raton! Is that supposed to be detrimental for the genie? All I get is that a genie who has stripped Sonic's powers is trapped inside a robot dog which is now running. I'm not seeing the trope.

I take that as a "no," then. note

Maybe just take three of the four panels from 8?
''“You want a planet? I’ll give you a planet! Heck, I’ll give you your own solar system! No, I’ll give you a house... in Boca Raton!
The current pic on Didn't Think This Through was chosen here, and while it works, if you're not familiar with the Super Mario games, the trope might not be evident, and the caption doesn't seem like it's really adding anything beyond snark. I came across this◊ while hunting examples for a different thread and the last four panels seem like they're a lot more on-the-nose for showing the trope, and are funny to boot. Thoughts?
