Not a huge fan, but I like them: Frogstomp and Neon Ballroom were teen angst favorites I have some nostalgia for, and later on they intrigued me with the "new sound" stuff on Diorama and Young Modern note . Favorite tracks offhand: Israel's Son, Tomorrow, Ana's Song, Across The Night, Tuna In The Brine, If You Keep Losing Sleep.
I saw a clip of Freak on TV the opther day. Man, they were a pretty generic band when they were doing their shameless Nirvana rip offs.
They started when they were 15 ("Freak" would have been when they were 17 I think), so I guess before they matured and developed more diverse musical influences they were just trying to sound like all their favorite Alternative Rock bands: Nirvana is the most obvious comparison to make, but at different points on Frogstomp it sounds like they're imitating Alice in Chains note , Pearl Jam, and even Helmet. Doesn't mean they didn't come up with a catchy song once in a while during that period, and they were probably better at their instruments than most other bands of teenagers.

I liked Frogstomp, which I bought mainly for "Tomorrow" and possibly "Israel's Son". I've also heard "Freak", "Anthem for the Year 2000", "Straight Lines", "Blind", and "Stoned".

Hey.I like them. They have some really great songs. I also listened to Frogstomp a while back and I thought it was a good album despite a few weak tracks and some occasionally immature lyrics.
Hello everyone, I am Gustavo Woltmann from Panama. Anyone here who is a fan of Silverchair? What are your favorite songs?
