The Vissan troops' high ground did not save them again as the company pressed their attack. Zeera surprised the Vissan priest by suddenly appearing beside him, leaving him so shocked that he couldn't even resist as she stole the cloak off his back and proceeded to fling a fiery salvo at the nearby swordsman. Too focused on keeping cover between himself and the mercenaries in front of him, he stood no chance of dodging the volley from behind. As Sophia poured healing magic into Railen, sealing his grievous wounds with a string of holy words, Eridan simply pointed at the spearman, and he vanished in a blast of shadow.

The soldiers to the southeast watched Grendan swoop low over the trees and ran to meet him with steel. The swordsman reached him first, leaping to strike at Heath's belly and coming up short. Landing, he ducked back into the dense foliage, evading Grendan's flurry of spearthrusts, except for the last, which glanced off a branch and into his shoulder.

To the northwest, the last survivor of the group the rest of the company was engaging turned on the thief who had just stolen his cloak, and cried out a prayer as he blasted away with his own holy magic. The rough terrain now turned against him, though, as Zeera ducked behind a boulder before coming back with another salvo of her own, striking him with half her shots.

Sophia sighed glad that, that actually worked, and turned her attention to the mage still remaining.

Move to E9, attack Vissan 14(Fire Tome)

The robe was hers now.

Now that there was only one of them left, Zeera swapped out her old tome for the newer one. Now might be a good time to make their way through the hilly pass, though if she moved, the mage might have a chance to escape.

Use Thunder Tome on Vissan 14.

Vera scowled as she flew after Grendan, seeing that he and the Vissan were having less of a fight and more of a... dance, really. What else were you to call standing in front of each other and waving your arms around. At least he finally managed to score a hit after a while.

Drawing her bow, she soared in behind him and stopped suddenly, firing at the Vissan.

Vera to P22. Shoot R22.

"I hate it when this sorta thing happens... hopefully we can clean these two up soon."

If Vissan 1 is not dead: Attack Vissan 1 with Iron Lance. Otherwise, move to Q23 and attack Vissan 2 with Iron Lance.

Railen was all better and the danger of him being wounded again was gone. That sword Zeera picked up was mighty interesting. Would be a great weapon to have indeed..... "Zeera, do you mind if I just took this? Right, thanks" said Railen as he moved next to her and took the magical weapon.

Move to D9 and exchange Steel Sword for Wing Sword.

As Michel approached the house, the door swung open and a lean man with a shifty look stepped out.

"You guys're tangling with those soldiers, are you?" he said, nervously scratching his chest. "Yeah, I getcha. I ain't exactly the fondest of the authorities, myself. Hey, if you're tryin' to get past the checkpoint, I might know somethin' that'll help you out."

"Is that all you have, brute?" Vera said, spitting blood down to the ground. "Allow me to repay the favor."

Zeera looked at the sword Railen had given her. She usually didn't like to carry these things around, as they tended to slow down her movements whenever she needed to escape from some place. There weren't many good places to put it, as the sword might tear through her sack, so she tried to secure it to her side as best she could, until someone could hold onto it.

She heard something over by the house, so she tried to peek around to listen to what was being said.

On the other hand though, it wasn't clear what was on the other side of this mountain.

She didn't want to lose track of the company if they went forward to attack the bridge, so she looked back and forth, before deciding on a course of action.

Drop the steel sword to return it to supply.

If performed by Malia, move to D5, then move to E4 and enter/explore the house.

Otherwise, move to F9 and defend.

Grendan scowled under his mustache at the enemy's survival; unfortunately, while the terrain was rough, it had still been traversable so there had been no way for him to prevent him from reaching Vera, but at least she had endured his attack.

"Shouldn't take much more..." he muttered to himself as Vera backed up a bit to get room to draw her bow.

If Veronique completely misses Vissan 2, attack Vissan 2 with Iron Sword; otherwise, go to T20 and defend.

"Oh...looks like Ms. Vera might need some help. And, I might need yours again Malia." Sophia said, moving off the hill and towards the two fliers to meet them halfway.

Move to F13, Heal self, if Danced by Malia, move to H16, Defend

Yes, this sword is just as interesting as Railen thought it would be. With the info given by the man in the house being known to Railen, he would follow after Sophia to help out in anyway that he could.

"You're a mage, aren't you, girl?" the withered old woman said as Zeera approached. "Can you feel it? The tingle in the air? This place is called Leyline Pass. Can you guess why? It's because the natural flow of magic crosses ways here. With the right equipment, a mage can harness that power to project their magic over great distances. There used to be a tower on the other side of the river, just for that purpose. Is it still there, do you think?" The mischievous twinkle in her eye suggested that she already knew the answer.

"Vissan fool," Vera spat out, along with a fair bit of blood, when the Vissan axeman went down. Ignoring the large wound from an axe slash to her torso and arms for now - a lucky shot, of course - she turned around now that the last straggler had been dealt with. It was time for her and the wyvernrider to return to the main group.

Move to K18. Defend.

Eridan squinted as he spotted a familiar sight in the distance. A mage tower. Surrounded by hostile forces, no less. Eridan stopped for a second before turning around.

Move to G10. If danced by Malia, move to F9.

Zeera had absolutely no idea what the woman was talking about, so after hearing her talk for a bit, Zeera nodded and proceeded on her way.

Despite the name, it wasn't something she had heard of before, though she figured she might as well investigate what this thing was.

Zeera continued circling around the mountain, until she saw an old tree jutting past the forest.

Move to G3. Defend.

Sophia rushed over to heal Vera, seeing how wounded she was. "Ms. Vera, try not to get hurt too bad, okay?" she said as she started up her healing juju.

Move to H16, if Danced by Malia move to J18, and Heal Vera.

The front door opened without complaint as Grendan poked his head inside. The place appeared not to have seen any habitation in some time, if the layer of dust on the floor was any indication. As he walked inside, an open book on the kitchen table caught his eye, and he glanced at the last entry.

"Going to visit Matilda yesterday when I saw lame doe in trees. Followed, but lost her in woods. Found something instead. Old ballista, bad shape. Going to try and fix up, see if Maelius will buy."

"Ha, better me than you. You should see the other man," Vera replied cockily, reaching an arm down to once again pick up the cleric. "Now get on, there are still Vissan dogs about, let's see about using that siege weapon against them."

She pointed at the damaged ballista in the distance, then flew off to it.

Pick up Sophia, fly to the other side of the map, get into the damaged ballista, drive it over to P18 while keeping an eye out for Vissans, and then after leaving it at P18 she flies over to N18 to end her movement. And Defend I guess.
