The first half of this was slow...
But ye gods, the second half was amazing.
Indeed, the first half seems to play like it was straight out of The '60s, while the second half seeks to take advantage of the present day audience and add in elements that would have been risky to show on-air back then (e.g the suggestive jokes about Catwoman).
Julie Newmar seemed having a hard time raising her voice however, and I actually had to raise the volume and replay some scenes to understand what she was saying. This is was especially apparent during the dramatic sound intensive action scenes.
Unlike pretty much every other Batman film this year, I had fun with this from beginning to end. Hearing Adam West quoting the other Batmen was one of those eye widening moments, and I had several moments where I laughed out loud.
Man, this was so much fun. I watched it with my kids, and what made it better was that we've been watching the old series on DVD, so they were able to pick out all the old tropes when they turned up in the animated version.
Sooo...I have question: Shouldn't Evil!Batman remember about his deal with Alfred?
So I just saw this movie a few days ago. This was utterly fantastic. I was actually kind of surprised that they were able to make Evil!Batman somewhat intimidating. I mean, the fight scene at the russian space station was certainly hilarious (arguably awesome as well, if only because we hear Adam West quote both Burton and Miller's batman) but it was also jarring as hell to see Good natured deputy of the law Batman beat the ever loving shit of their enemies with brass knuckles! It certainly was a villain to end all villains.
Also I absolutely cracked up at the takeover scene Where a Bat-clone took Officer O'hara's job and says "Begora" in quite possibly the most monotone delivery I think Adam West could've performed.
Was anyone else slightly touched at the end where it was revealed that Bruce and Alfred had made a pact that if he were to ever be fired that it meant that Bruce was turning evil? It's small but it tells us a great deal about the relationship between Alfred and Bruce.
All in all, GO SEE THIS MOVIE!

I just heard it from my brother. I was like "Fuck".
This is saddening. First Roger Ailes, then Roger Moore, then Roger Smith, and now Adam West?
"You can run, but you can't hide from the Buzzinator!"We've lost another great one.
One Strip! One Strip!I'm going to guess the sequel slated for this year will be In Memoriam.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Did he already record for it?
One Strip! One Strip!I believe so.
I hope so.
RIP Mr. West.
They've been recording it since last year, so I think that will be fine.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).Confirming Adam West managed to record all of his lines.
So we will get one final movie In Memoriam.

Why the first movie is called Return of the Caped Crusaders.
Come to think of it, this is Two-Face's first time carrying a movie as the Big Bad, isn't it? His last two movies had him as a secondary villain.
It looks like he'll be even more sympathetic than usual, with the accident even infusing him with evil rather than bringing out his own dark side.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.that looks surprisingly dark. Which I am surprisingly ok with, as long as they keep it true to the characters and overall feel of the series by not taking it too far.
I'm actually sort of excited to see where they take this. It seems higher stakes then the last movie, and a much more serious threat.
Also I feel like they had a whole series of these things planned before they got unfortunately cut short, judging by the introduction of Two Face and the cameo by what looks to be Harleen Quinzel.

Yeah, I heard it didn't do as well as The Killing Joke theater-wise partly because it's not as accessible as that one to the uninitiated.
A shame, because I enjoyed this far more.
