I'm gonna throw down my plot (mostly so I don't forget) but don't consider this one as really on the role until our next round of voting cause mine isn't christmas theme'd.

Unfortunately, or fortunately if you enjoyed giant robot world, Idacra needs to hire the mercenaries again, but this time for an off world mission. Since the original space colony ship arrived, the second moon◊ has been acting weird with the occasional disappearance of a ship or mecha squadron near it. However as of late, the situation has escalated with the most recent disappearance being an entire fleet of ships from both sides, each reporting they were taking fire before disappearing. Tensions between the nations of space and the nations of Idacra are heating up again and could erupt into a third space war with each side believing the other of preparing to launch a pre-emptive strike. To try and avert a senseless waste of life though, both have agreed to hire an independent third party to investigate and see if war really is the answer or something else lurks behind the scenes. Naturally this is where the group comes in, and even if a war does start you still get paid so there's really nothing to lose is there? Well besides your lives, but that's a given.

Okay, I'm gonna call it now that whatever we do, I'm likely voting for Hil's plot because the holiday thematics are good and I've been on a Shadowrun kick lately. And then B's.

That being said, my plot idea isn't that special. The premise would be the characters going into the bowels of hell to retrieve a precious idol of a long-dead deity from an ancient tower. It would be guarded by terrifying demonic beings representing the deadly sins of mankind, and it won't just be a test of might. Their trials will test both your mind and your patience for complete horseshit. I'm workshopping a name like "Katabasis Vacation" or something, and it'd mostly just be a short plot. Ideally it'd be a week's length, non-ideally two weeks worth of plot.

Voidlings, creatures born of the inky swirling chaos that surrounds our universe have broken through, to our world and have started to consume everything thing in sight. They will not stop, they cannot be reasoned with, their hunger will not be sated until all is returned to the Void. There is hope! Five Teenagers W Ith Attitude A group of motley multi talented individuals have bravely(read:will be shoved into) stepping forward and taking on the power of the stars to destroy this threat. Will they succeed? Or will they bicker and stare at themselves in the mirror while the world burns around them?

So yeah this is gonna be a short silly little thing inspired by magical girls/super sentai. Full disclosue, I have no clue what I'm doing;

I have my own plot thought up, but given that I just ran one I don't know if I should post it, or just call for the vote.

Okay, due to multiple conversations from chuck, we are now having to establish payment guidelines for GM's, remember these are just guidelines, but straying too far outside of them destroys the setup the group has.... at least on the monetary front, feel free to modify the other parts to your wish.

Also going forward, to make the currency used clear it is the Credit or ₡, each credit is roughly equivalent to 1€, 1.2$, 135¥ or whatever currency, ask if you cant get the range, would be happy to help. :)

Normally the group paid in gold due to the fact that local currencies don't always translate.

As it currently stands, the group expends some where about 100,000-133,000₡ per week in paychecks, exact math is hard to figure out, which means that roughly speaking, payments 150,000 to 250,000 per week of operation is ideal.... The idea is to keep the group out of dept, and well paid (which they are at a paycheck of 3,000 a week per individual member) but as to not bloat there finances to the point where they don't have to keep working to keep up there lifestyle.

This means the average 1 month plot should pay ~750,000 with the other ends of the range being for exceptionally stingy/high paying jobs.

If you want to do more then this, have the group be exceptionally well rewarded, it is recommended that you provide additional payment in items rather then cash.... Say some kind of magical artifact, or some kind of prototype weapon.... Maybe a car or something. The idea here being that the group still gets rewarded by giving them additional things, but by not giving them cash they can't just use it to sit around and do nothing forever.

Remember though, that these are just guidelines, and if you want to send something else the group's way, feel free to do so.

I would be interested to know how you worked that out out of intellectual curiosity, because the characters I roleplay as part of the "core" cast I DO have some inkling in how it is they would spend that many yuros per week on, but I'm still overall curious to what factors you're basing this assessment on.

I polled people on how many characters they had that would be receiving actual pay, counted them up, and took estimates based on the existing data and what I had noticed from players that weren't present at the time to extrapolate them out as well, and so far they seem to be on target.

I then added an additional couple grand for buffer to account for new characters/players that may join into the mix, and to account for errors.... admitantly this isn't a perfect way to figure out how much is spent on the paychecks, but it does get us close and slightly over (which is better then under for this), and close is all we really need to be because the group also has a discretionary fund to pay for things like medicine and ammo, and any additional funds would go to that.

As such the ranges given are slightly edged over what the actual math probably is, but not in a way that balloon the cash pool to unreasonable levels.

As for the 3,000 a week, I worked backwards from 150k a year and rounded up, the idea there was an amount of cash that was enough to live comfortably, and justify why they would actually want to be mercenaries, without, once again going to the extreme overages.... to get that figure I looked at real life jobs that are both skilled and incredibly dangerous that inconvenience the worker and drew it out from there. :)

To Mr. Kirb,

In regards to your newest character submission, I feel that while the character breaks no real rules, I believe that based upon the character's stated strengths and abilities, Theta is effectively trying to have the strengths of the "vehicle" characters such as Stubbs and Shogun-chan while also having the utility and skills present in the military characters such as Noble Six or Bruce. Without the drawbacks to either side.

I can go into details if you like, but I do want to profess that I'm not sure what Theta brings to the table otherwise. Especially since when you disregard most everything else he's essentially a high-speed mobile turret.

Oh....

I felt that Theta's the first I wanted to add into my tiny roster with a transforming robot. It's mostly to be a vehicle type of mine and I thought it's ok to do a dual role type of thing. Though considering what you said, I may consider altering him or dropping him outright.

While I likely was on one already, I think I'll just make it official here: I'm going on an indefinite hiatus.

It has nothing to do with anything here, but factors like time and motivation are, I think, the main reason, due to me being in college. Although I don't think I'm as confident in my RPing skills as I used to be, either.

I'm honestly not sure when I'll be back, or even if I will be. You can consider my characters to be on a bus trip.

By request of GM, I judge the current character submissions as thus:

• Shindan is good to go
• Kosm and Wanda is good to go, although a bit bigger than I expected
• Merriweather "M.O" Oceaneer is good to go, but her sheet format is only made up by how amused I am by the unique form of introduction

Anyways, as sad as it is to hear that Eth is going on potentially-perma-hiatus, I'm happy to welcome Shiny and Riddle back with their new characters in tow
