That's...gonna be a Long List.
Disgusted, but not surprisedRussia is withdrawing from the International Criminal Court.
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects.Inevitable. The trend started in Africa is catching on...mostly because they were right (even if they should create an AU-specific court or, in Russia's case, a Eurasec version).
Mmm, they were right about what?
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanSorry, didn't specify in this thread: That the ICC only focuses on countries that aren't in Europe's good graces. They aren't actually impartial. This on top of the more practical issues of them being just too plain slow.
Fuck this year
It's bad enough the world decided to take a hard right towards nationalism all while polluting and driving everything to extinction
But now I found out my grandfather passed away.
Sorry to hear that.
And that's how I ended up in the wardrobe. It Just Bugs Me!Really sorry to hear about that.
I have disagreed with her a lot, but comparing her to republicans and propagandists of dictatorships is really low. - An idiotReally sad to hear that
1000? Given climate change, we're not going to last over 100!
That much ? That's about 900 more than I thought.

Well if we do live past climate change and whatever is ahead of us right now then by those 1000 years we will likely be taking to the stars and would of colonized other planets and possible solar systems.
Formerly known as Bleddyn And I am feeling like a ghost Resident Perky GothHonestly,he's much more positive than the title suggests.
Secret SignatureYou know, people keep talking about how this year was terrible and they just want it to end but all signs point to next year being even worse. So I'd savor the rest of this year as much as possible because it's all downhill from here.
It's one thing to make a spectacle. It's another to make a difference.I mean, a lot of it depends on how bad the US will get, how certain elections in Europe go, how the battles against ISIS progress (and the aftermath), the situation in the Pacific getting worse/better....
In the short term, I'd say 2017's shitiness is up in the air as far the global scale is concerned. Long term outlook is awful though.
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects. It really depends...if the elections in France and Germany work out, it would remove one big worry and ensure stability in the core EU for the next four years. And seeing how Brexit and Trump work out (meaning not at all) might actually deter the population of some states from listening to populists and believing that change for the sake of change is a good thing. Most of the bad things which will happen next year will resulting out of the decisions made this year.
Though if Trump manages to do significant global economic damage, that might fuel more populism. Even if right-wing populism starts losing its street cred, that doesn't rule out more left leaning anti establishment candidates coming in. And the fringe left has some pretty destructive ideas.
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects.Populism sounds a lot like "mob rule" to me.
Disgusted, but not surprisedThat's because it's exactly what it is.
A little bit of dark humor for your morning/afternoon/night.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."So there was a plane crash with said plan carrying Brazil's soccer team.
Over 70 people died.
Joy.
It's not Brazil's [national] soccer team. It's Chapecoense, who were basically the Brazilian equivalent of Leicester (without the league title, but with what would have been a first-time presence in one of the big South American cup finals (Copa Sudamericana) - they were also a team that used to be in the lower Brazilian football leagues/divisions not too long ago.
Just so people don't get confused here.
Pretty much the whole of Brazil (and most of the soccer world, including some of the biggest clubs in Europe, are already offering themselves to help the club in some way or another - through loaning players without fees to be paid or raising funds to help the families of the victims and of the survivors, to give a few examples that are happening as I write this) is mourning them, in any case, since they were the one Brazilian team that didn't have rivalries with anyone.
May their memory be eternal.

lol! Exactly my sentiment! I have already decided to write down everything which was sh... about this year and then burn the notes, so that the New Year will hopefully be better.
