hey, guys, I have a bit of question, what do you want in a cartoon, both in its characters and story/plot?

I personally dig characters that seem simple but go a lot deeper and stories that mix comedy and drama well. Should probably explain why my favorite animation of all time is Rick and Morty.

In a tv show, whether it's a cartoon, anime, or live action thing (the middle option is what I gravitate to most), I'd like for the characters to be likable and fleshed out, the plot or plots to be coherent, and a good balance of humor and seriousness to be present. Also, no glaring Idiot Ball moments that distract from everything else. Nothing too complex, as long as it's enjoyable and well-thought-out I'll like it.
