If you plug the URL into google it says it is tv tropes and if you go to it, it has the exact same front page we currently do complete with log in buttons. I didn't do anything stupid beyond look at that.

Not that this excuses the site in question, but why don't you have TVT bookmarked? I would never use Google search to find a site that I had registered for. (Even when I did, we're the first result.) Sure you don't have malware?

I do have it bookmarked, I wasn't paying attention and only noticed the irl wasn't the real one after I logged in, I ran a scan and nothing was found but I am running another one

Fixed the page with a null edit. Seems like a bug rather than a hack, also because the current admins are affiliated with ShareTV. I shall ask for admin commentary anyhow.

Well, the above report of the sharetv version was not responded to with a "this site is okay" answer.
In the absence of a mod/admin statement explicitly stating a TV Tropes copy site is not harmful, the safe assumption (in terms of user security) is that the other site is a source of phising or malware. Either images dot sharetv is not safe, or there was a communication failure to report that it was.

The sharetv thing is not an issue. It's a case of development work bleeding over into the wiki, because when they edit a main wiki article using the dev server, the links get parsed like they would be on that server. It's obviously not something that should be happening, but it's not a security problem.
