Lens Magus

Eclipse, keeping to himself, had paid no real attention to the conversations at hand. Yawning, he started to close his eyes. That was, until the giant abomination reared its head. Suddenly wide awake, he stares at the monster.

HOLY FUCK!!!

Eclipse backflips off the boat, flying several feet into the air. He throws several shurikens at the monster, aiming at its giant eyes.

Away Team

The plant seemed to be getting impatient. A horrible hissing noise filled the air as the vines suddenly lengthened aggressively. Tendrils snaked out of the basement and reached up for the surface. One snaked around and grabbed at each member of the away team, going straight for their throats.

The Monster deflected both Aluura's and Icara's attacks in a... somewhat unusual fashion. One section of its arm separated from its body, flying through the air to deflect her dagger before swooping up to catch Icara's descent. The disc was about the diameter of a manhole, and only about six inches thick, and the Monster's arm shortened to make up for the lost length. It remained silent as the disc flipped around, bringing Icara with it, and the Monster's blade-arm-bushel thrust up to meet her now exposed body.

Of course, so concentrated on the two bigger threats at work, it failed to notice Eclipse's shuriken, which pierced its left eye with ease. That finally got a noise out of it, and the Monster made a groan of grinding metal on metal. It flung another disc out of its arm again, this time aiming for Eclipse.

Boat Bash

With the monster distracted by three of his companions, Matthew twirled his staff around as electric magic gathered in his hand.

"Help them!" He yelled at everyone else who hadn't made a move yet, and Thunderbolt Reckoning unleashed a volley of lightning bolts at the monster's supposed body, hoping to take down the beast before it could do any damage to the boat and harm him and his allies.

Away Antics

"Aw crap! Guess I aught to henshin!", Nova said as the plant monster came into view. Just as it was about to snake a vine around her throat, she drew her sword and tried to take a whack at it before tracing a halo above her head to summon her armor. Within 2 seconds, the magic circle went down her body and made her armor appear, and her sword became two as it transformed into Blazing Fang, its blades catching on fire as Nova used her magic on it.

"Alright, now we're cooking with gas!", she exclaimed before trying to dice up some of the vines.

Ariolus quickly drew his sword and slashed at the vine aiming for his throat, trying to cut it in half.

"Everyone, ready yourselves!"

Within seconds, he unwound the necklace around the hilt of his sword, and he then placed it around his neck, light surrounding his entire form.

Boat

Allura clucked her tongue in disappointment, the anger clear on her face. "Useless, not nearly good enough." She commented as she gave a sharp tug on her wire and sent the dagger sailing back at the creature's eye.

"And put my friend down." She snarled.

Away Team - Engagement

Deus lazily, yet with a certain grace, rolled out of the way of a tentacle, sending an arrow towards the one who came after him, a slight smile on his face.

"Well, it's about time the party started. Was wondering how long we'd be here talking about 'strategy'."

He instinctively started creating a volley of fire arrows, drawing back a new arrow as he waited for them to charge up to full power.

"Let's get started..."

Not On a Boat - Annette Felicity Schröchild

"Hmm, able to pinpoint our location and vitals without need for visual confirmation," Justice's Blind casually remarked as she swatted away the vine with one of her spikes, retreating back and focusing solely on self-defense. "As well as attack said vitals with precision. Who's best suited for semi-aquatic combat?"

Away team

Midnight moved quickly as the vine came at him, dodging at the absolute last second before firing at it.

Away Team

Slip's shields grew to their full length and locked in place with a mechanical clicking noise. He stuck a vine with the pointy end and smashed it with the other shield, tearing it out.

"If we could expose it we could do some damage without having to go under."

Slip looked around at the existing holes in the floor, trying to find anywhere weak enough to be broken that didn't look integral to the building's structure.

Brushing off Aluura's comment and focusing on the threat at hand...and the creepy giggling from another of his comrades wasn't helping him achieve this, oblivious to what she was doing. Of course, with everyone else already making their moves, 'Alex' warned Jayce and Lena to retreat into the ship where the were less likely to be harmed.

"...Now then..."

Spinning his spear as crescent-shaped blades of wind formed by his side, the purple-haired butler followed up Matthew's attack with the barrage of cutting wind, hoping to keep this monstrosity staggered while he quickly moved into a more favorable position by vaulting high into the air, other the monster and landing on solid ground behind it.

Boat Party

Thunderbolt's lightning seemed to deal quite a bit of damage! The lightning arced off of it, and noticeably between both the Monster's body and the discs that were "away" from the body. The body twitched and groaned under his attacks, but that just made it angrier! Three more discs detached and flew toward Thunderbolt. The disc flying towards Alex stopped, twitched, rang and sang as it strained against its frame, unable to compensate for the momentum. It snapped, the disc went flying into the woods, and the rest of its left arm crashed into the water. The other blade spun up to grind into Icara's spine, sending a shower of sparks and blood in equal measure over the party, but Aluura's knife sank straight into its eye in its obsession with hurting her. The Monster roared again, and fell backwards. The discs fell to the earth—one still buried in Icara and threatening to drag her to the bottom of the river!

The vines were handily dealt with by the Away Team, but the plant then just zipped back into its lair. The canal went quiet as the plant retreated, solidifying its hold on the battery. So now it was on the Lens Magi: Did they try to get the canal working, or did they just smash their way through the gates and get shit moving?

Ariolus, now fully transformed, just watched on as the plant retreated back to its lair.

"We will definitely have to draw that monster out if we want to open the canal..."

Eclipse, landing in a shallow part of the river, draws his swords. Turning to the monster, he noticed Icara's predicament.

Oh, son of a...

Turning toward the boat, he yells at the others. Guys!! Do me a favor and keep me safe!!

Letting out a sigh, Eclipse plunges one of his swords into the water, the blade sinking into the soft mud. From the sword rises a large shadow, which envelopes Ecilpse. The shadow fades away, revealing a transformed Eclipse.

Well, here goes nothing.

Raising his gauntlet, Eclipse starts to slowly close his fist. In reaction, the shadow of the boat starts to move. Raising his fist, the shadow begins to race toward the monster, trying to restrain it.

Boat

Icara simply roared in rage at the disc piercing her side, before gripping it tightly with her clawed hand and ripped it out. Clutching it hard in her hand, she then looked down toward the water where the monster was retreating and thrust out her other hand, a chain of blades shooting out of it and into the water with enough velocity to possibly pierce the monster's hide.
