And you know, if we ever wanted to go the Dwarven Dystopia route, that Oubliette's not a bad thing. Anyone who offends or displeases the gods can be sent down there to face judgment. Either they'll die a horrible death, or they'll be "rewarded" with the curse and allowed to join their ranks.

We really should see about trading for more picks and some spare supplies.

We have a lot of copper, I made some picks out of that during my run and recruited from our extra fishers who weren't catching much. I'm not sure what effect pick material has on mining but bronze is within the fort's capabilities now since we do have access to casseterite for tin.

Then giving the weres some picks seems doable. Just depends on if we want them to be a vaguely working society of their own. Then again, the once a month thing would tend to wreck that. Honestly, we really should just atom smash them unless we want to use them for something unorthodox like that temple to a God of pain and death. Or Armok, as we call him.

we COULD set up the workshops in a sealable room, or create an angry dome.

I considered that but we'd need a fairly reliable way to seal it. Only thing I can think of is setting up a meeting area away from everything for when they're not working, making sure they're not working too much, and using the seal-lever when they're not working to keep everything locked up.

My experience in building deathtraps in this game is nil so I pushed it off for someone else to deal with. The other thing I thought of doing was sending them down to the caverns but that wouldn't have worked for the were-kids.

Also, Deler and Tuefel will be on you like a ton of elephants if they catch anyone poking about with the dark gods. Just sayin.

Weaponize 'em! Dig a separate tunnel they can use to reach the surfac eand use them to break sieges once a month.

Flagcarnal fucks the world with were-rodents.

No. Letting them loose completely defeats the purpose of separating them from the rest of the fort in the first place. Plus there's a good chance they'd revert before the job's done and wind up dead from some goblin's ax.

As for a death trap . . . you can just dig out a room like the oubliette and build a drawbridge along one wall. Attach it to a lever and pull it up before letting anyone in, then burrow the unwanted people inside there then hit the lever again. Smash. Dead. Nothing left to bury or infect.

Hence why you seal the fort before letting them out. Death Equals Redemption in the eyes of the gods. If they all die then we don't need to seal them off any more anyway...though we might need a plan-B for any new were-coalti-goblins/elves/whatever.

If the AI still follows the easiest path into the fortress you can line the were-tunnel with traps and either hot-gate the enemy or encircle and surround them.

I figure if you tried to use the weres, they'd probably die. Depending on how good the enemy's missile capability is, they might just soak up arrows or bolts and not even infect anybody. Best case likely scenario? They die hard and infect a bunch of enemies who survive to flee toward home. Might get a few "generations" of weres in the goblin pits out of the event.

[up]

Yeah, sorry, I just don't have the time I did when I signed up for the list, sadly. I'm desperately preparing for school; so I think I'll have to pass on my turn.
