Claw, Or How The Fuck Did We Get Here, Batting Centre

Getting in was easy enough: with Kashira providing additional background for their sudden "summoning", none of the Majima Family grunts gave them a second thought even despite his -sigh- catsuit. Of course, that was where "easy" ended and "difficult" began.

Pitou was reprimanded by Kashira, but didn't seem to have taken the reprimand to heart; she was already lunging at Dio and sending him careening across the room, having shoved Kashira out of the way to do so. "No. Let them tear at each other. I have a feeling that nobody else in that room wants a fight if they can help it." Sure enough, there was Majima in the room, acting as if he didn't just flirt with death for a moment there. At least he and Tanimura seemed to recognize each other, so there was that.

A flintlock pistol in one hand and the cutlass in the other, Claw moved from behind Kashira, assessing the situation. Two... no, three other people. One was Remilia, currently indisposed. She could probably walk that off. Another one was behind Majima, clearly on Asuka's mind as she tried to get the gangster off course to deal with Veronica - and with the gun she pouched off him, no less. The other, blonde, was off to the side while Dio saw fit to escape to higher elevation. Given Pitou's excitement, she would no doubt follow his scent.

"Lower your weapons, your magicks, whatever you want to use." He growled at no one in particular, though his eyes moved between Medusa and the frame behind Majima. "Then one of you be so kind to pick what's left of Miss Scarlet. We'll have to restrain her once she comes to." Considering Dio used her as a thrown weapon and broke her neck, she was probably going to be very upset and not too picky with things to take out her anger on.

Baron, Club

Judging by how wide-eyed the kid was, there was a fair chance they could keep him in one place; and an equally fair one he would start wandering around the joint and undoubtedly ruin their chances with Akiyama's test. "Gimme a moment, brudda. I'll get to ya in a moment." Baron nodded and then hastily retreated to where Kid was.

"Hey, uh, we've got a problem dere." He muttered, gesturing to the guy and his kid. "Playa a customer, but he's gotta watch out for da kid; last minute addition, dig? Think ya could keep da kid busy, in sum way that dun get us hosed by Akiyama?"

Veronica - Batting Center - Inside

Talk talk talk, do any of these people ever shut up?

This time Veronica didn't even bother drawing a knife from a sheath. Instead she simply extended her right arm, a razor sharp blade springing from the flesh of her wrist like a switchblade, and drew it backwards with every intention of planting it squarely in Majima's spine.

However, it was at that point she noticed the latest arrivals to the scene, and was distracted by a number of things; the most obvious being the arrival of a small, slender figure barreling into Dio, sending him bowling past her and rather viciously mauling him in the process. For a moment she hesitated, torn between running to his aid or carrying out his instruction. But Dio seemed to recover fast and made his departure through the center's open roof - whether fleeing or drawing his opponent out she couldn't yet say.

Putting it out of her mind for the present, Veronica turned to the potentially more pressing matter at hand - the disheveled redheaded girl with an eyepatch who had just pulled a gun on her. Well, on Majima to be precise, but by warning him she'd made it pretty clear who the real target was. She retracted the blade into her arm with a soft clicking sound and scowled at the other new arrivals.

"Well, look who decided to show up. Are we finished here yet?"

Kashira Lavellan - Battle Center - Cleaning House

Kashira skidded to a halt as she saw both Dio and Pitou take a mighty leap upwards, far beyond reach. Bellanaris Din'an Heem! I can't follow them close enough to suit my style, not in a place like this! And ranged magic is too dangerous! She had hoped to contain the fight, at least, even if she couldn't stop it, but there was no chance of that now. She also worried that Claw, Tanimura, and Asuka might not be able to hold back Dio's allies on their own, that situation was still in play. She stepped again, back the way she'd come, this time bursting into being between Majima and Dio's allies. The crime lord was still alive. Good. No one was fighting yet. Even better. Best to make sure of things. One hand flared with magic and she flung her shielding spell about her allies and Majima as well, but she made no move to attack.

"Detective," she said, "Are you looking for these people as well? I'd rather not fight on two fronts at once."

—-Medusa - Batting Center - There Are No Crimes Here—-

It looked like Medusa's warning didn't have enough time to even set in before the doors opened and something barreled past the witch and into Dio. Taking a step back from the impact, she look over her shoulder to see the others rushing into the room. One was a walking cat man dressed like a stereotypical pirate. Another was a woman with pointed ears carrying a staff. With them was a red-haired, one-eyed girl and a Japanese man who was probably a local. Looking back to where Dio was getting back up, his assailant appeared to be a humanoid with feline ears and tail, but with contrasting segmentation at the knees. None of them were familiar, but she did not really pay attention to the others when they were in the Tower.

She did not offer Dio any help getting up, because she knew that he wouldn't need it. If it was that easy to take the vampire down than he was not really worth her time. The witch turned to face the other Climbers as Dio lead his attacker away. Medusa placed herself between his escape point and the others, but still allowing Pitou to follow, as she was likely to do. The cat humanoid's attention seemed squarely on Dio, and she was not going to get in the way.

The light from the magic in Kashira's hand drew Medusa's attention over to her. Rather than being intimidated though, she just raised an eyebrow at the Inquisitor's actions. Rather than take any sort of stance, the witch simply slipped her hands into her pockets. "Is there something we can help you all with? We were in the middle of something before your..." Medusa glance back at the hole Dio escaped through. "pet attacked us."

Claw, No Chill

"You were in the middle of dooming this whole accursed place." Claw growled back at Medusa. Ugh, the sheer nonchalance of that witch was making him irate. Fortunately, the main source of concern - that being the small presence behind the Majima - decided it was wise to sheathe her weapon instead. At least there's that.

At the same time, Kashira questioning Tanimura could only end in tears if the detective decided that Dio's allies were worth questioning as well. "Yes, we're done here." He nodded in response to Veronica's question, looking back to where Dio and Pitou made their escape. "Once Pitou deems fit to stop treating Mr. Brando like a stress ball and once we pick up what's left of Miss Scarlet, we can leave and maybe not have the entire Tojo clan up in arms over the death of their high-ranked member."

Shrine

The combination of attacks aimed at the two swordsmen effectively removed them as a threat, as they were launched into a wall, clutching and moaning at their wounds. The leader lifted his gun, a basic 9mm pistol, and started firing at 2B's chest, Two men, one with a bat and one with, of all things, nunchucks, moved to his side, clearly in position to defend him if 2B attempted to charge. Meanwhile, the other goon being lifted by the robot could only do one thing.

"Hey! What the fuck? Put me down, damnit, before we use you for scrap!"

Yell loudly.

Elsewhere, the second group of men started running at Sumireko and Tanya. Having already seen the weird powers they had, they did not hestate to attempt to kill what appeared to be two kids. One sword wielder attempted to chop Tanya in half, while another 2 men who had no weapon ran at her from different angles, both attempting to punch her in the face and bring her to the ground.

Inner Fighter

As Koshi suddenly took to the sky, her foe came to a very sudden halt, the software not programmed with this event, someone flying, in mind. Any wave that hit him had no effect whatsoever, as the game was momentarily frozen. Suddenly, the whole room flickered, as the software attempted to readjust. Then her foe vanished. A moment later, a hard punch would come out of nowhere from Koshi's left side. When she looked over, she would see that her foe was now standing in midair, as if he was on the ground. Regardless of whenever or not she evaded, he would attempt to press the attack, quickly running at Koshi while in midair and attempting to strike her with a swift series of blows.

Convenience store

"What, who the fuc-AH!"

The robber screamed in pain as his wrist was grabbed, the pure shock causing him to drop his knife.

"Hey, hey, let me go, you bitch! Who the fuck do you think you are?"

As she left the store and started down the road, the cashier poked his head out the door, looking very confused.

"Er, hey, should, should I call the police?"

Arena

The bear turned to face Guts, not instantly running at him again. It seemed to be smart enough to be wary of unexpectedly swift prey. He advanced slower, seeing if Guts would back himself into a corner. Once he was within 10 feet, he sprang, closing the distance in half a second before attempting to rip at Guts with his giant mouth and teeth.

Outside, Taiga shook his head. "Jesus. If I was still in the joint when I heard this shit, I'd be asking you what the hell you were on. But the key to getting out of here being money, ya, that makes a fuck of a lot of sense."

He turned to face the cage.

"I don't know where the hell Kage dug up a giant bear, but something tells me he wouldn't have done this if it was anyone but one of you outsiders, or whatever I call you. Man's paranoid and always looking to make money, but he ain't stupid. He probably knew that whatever guy he could dig up wouldn't stop this guy in the ring. He'll stop the fight before this guy gets eaten, doubt Kage wants attention drawn by a death in the ring, but he probably figures this is the best way to challenge him."

Indeed, Qrow, if he looked, would see that the 4 men who were dragging the bear into the arena now were each holding a collapsible, electric cattle prod that was about 15 feet long at full length, and stood watching the fight closely, waiting to stop the bear if they needed to

Club

The nerd stopped talking as more advise was given.

"Common interest? Well, there is one girl in our film club where I go to college, really into the technical stuff. but I didn't want to embarrass myself in front of her, that's why I was practicing somewhere else. But I guess not many people understand the complexities of the equipment we use. Still, you gave me some good advise, so thanks!"

He started digging in his backpack, withdrawing a large golden plate.

"Here, I was gonna sell this, use the funds to find myself a place to stay here during spring break, but I think i'm going to go back and try to use your tips to impress her. Why don't you take this, a little thanks for helping me out when everyone else was laughing at me. You should be able to sell it for a good amount of money, I think there's a pawn shop near here who usually pays good money for this kind of thing."

Costume Contest

"I am Zasalamel." The robed man said as he got into the car, moving his scythe so it was not about to cut anyone. I believe the entrance is not far from here."

Indeed, not 50 feet away, the group would find a long line of people in costumes in front of a sign in desk, with a set of doors to a convention center within. Whenever the group reached the desk, the person at the desk would look them over.

"Please state your names, and what you want us to announce your costumes as."

Batting Center

Majima, suffice it to say, was not expecting what happened, and for half a second, one might see shock on his face, before he covered it with another laugh. Tanimura, meanwhile, having had the wind taken out of his sails, lowered the gun as Dio flew away.

"Well....that happened." He said. "If anyone from the department asks, I wasn't here. I don't want to get wrapped up in whatever property damage they're about to do."

"Ah, relax, Majima Construction will be more then happy to take whatever contracts come up to fix the damage!" Majima said. "As for you new people, great dramatic timing!" He gave a quick clap. "There's about 100 thousand Yen there on the ground, feel free to help yourselves to it. I won't miss it, I got a feeling I'm about to make 30 times that when those two are done their fight."

He then turned to Veronica. "As for you, my offer still stands. You don't wanna keep working for some guy who's going to be on the shitlist of half the people in your group, do you? Why don't you come work for me? I can start you at a high position, pay you whatever you want, find plenty of people who need "Educating" for you to deal with. Whatever you want, I can probably give. Just say the word."

Guts vs Grizzly, Arena

When the bear stood its own ground, Guts colored himself slightly surprised. He didn't have much time to let it sink in, as the bear rushed in as soon as he was within range. Its teeth were closing in on him in less time than a breath, it snarled and drooled and otherwise made a frightening picture.

Guts' previous movements had kept the bear in his sights, but he had realized before it pounced that he was losing space quickly. His massive opponent and the enclosed ring they fought in certainly didn't allow him much, but he'd have to make due.

As soon as the bear stepped forward, Guts was already propelling himself to his right and to the bear's left flank. His right heel ground into the floor and his foot stopped his momentum. He propelled himself again, this time towards the bear's flank, right fist clenched and extended towards the bear's side.

A plan was forming in Guts' head, and its first step required softening this ferocious beast up with some punches from his sword-wielding arm.

Kirito vs His Own Shame, Costume Contest

We were all pretty dead set on entering the competition. I guessed that it was now or never.

Exiting the car, I entered the queue. Waiting in line gave me some time to ruminate on my situation, and frankly, it was kind of silly. Of all the ways I thought I'd bring Asuna back, I didn't ever once think that entering a cosplay competition was going to be involved. Hell, I was still trying to decide if all this was real. If this was a simulation, it was a really good one, as I hadn't found any signs of it aside from my equipment. Speaking of, my swords continued to weigh heavily on me.

Whatever the case, my only path was forward.

Trusting that the other 'Climbers' (as they were apparently called) were behind me, I kept my place in line and eventually reached the sign-up desk.

It was finally hitting me that I was engaging in cosplay. All sorts of eyes would be on me soon, and while I was no stranger to the spotlight, I was never very fond of it. As I spoke, a hint of embarrassment held my words hostage, causing a slight stammer to form.

"U-uh..."

I cleared my throat, forcing my confidence to return.

"Kazuto Kirigaya. I'll be entering as..."

I remembered the reputation I had gained in Aincrad, the name I was given, and as soon as I did I raised my right hand and grasped the handle of the sword sheathed on my back. My left hand placed itself on my hip and, out of nowhere, a smirk appeared on my face, completing my impromptu pose.

"... I'll be entering as the Black Swordsman."

Whatever the man at the desk's response, it took me a second to realize what I'd just did. Entering my fantastical persona was all well and good back in SAO, but this was supposed to be Japan, the real world... maybe. And besides that, it wasn't even supposed to be the time for me to strut my stuff yet, I was just signing up. I flinched, then fell out of my pose a second later, before falling into a new one with my hand over my face, trying to hide the blush that was no doubt forming.

Remilia Scarlet; Batting Center of Absolute Carnage - Or, Recessed and Omniscient View

While there have been many attempts to determine the exact composition of the breed of demon known popularly as the vampire, most of these attempts at analysis have failed. The common vampire - inasmuch as any member of that ghoulish breed can be called common - is capable of taking a bewildering number of forms, ranging from that of a desiccated man to that of a curiously oversized bat. And as they can regenerate from nearly any wound, mortal or otherwise, dissection usually merits very little of worth.

(It will be worth noting, however, that the vampire's fatal allergy to sunlight has proved a boon to demonologists and occult researchers on no less than five documented occasions, the sun not having any sense of common decency. If you wish, we can cover this... later?)

(Ah, I see. Never mind.)

Observe, therefore, one Remilia Scarlet. Five centuries old and wrapped all in pink, flowing with more frills than the eye can count. The quintessential overstuffed child of the landed nobility, swinging face-first from a gigantic hand, flapping in the air like a jelly. Her neck is clearly broken, but she sputters wild protests at every opportunity, slurring them like a violinist with a fraying bow and too much Red Bull. Her hands flap at the male's gigantic grip, rather halfheartedly. Clearly, her large and chubby head is the object of most of her body's attention.

(No, I don't know how her cheeks work either. Do you?)

Ah. Here we see another, oft-overlooked trait of the common vampire - I speak, of course, of Miss Scarlet, and not Dio Brando, who is a poseur. Look. See how her hands light up with crimson, create blood-orbs the size of her fists. This is the magic of her kind, and it possesses all the power of the old night, the night of blood and fear, when monsters stalked the dark in human flesh. And see -

Oh, never mind that, she's just been thrown. Observe how she tumbles back in the direction of Kashira Lavellan and crew, head spinning like a wet sock. Exquisite, is it not?

She rolls for a while. It's quite impressive, the way she bounces. I'm overcome by emotion. But, ah, a new development - she's not quite done yet. You see, the magic of the old night of blood and fear when monsters stalked the dark in human flesh was actually still there, and once a vampire makes up her mind to do something, well...

Fortunately, or unfortunately, Miss Scarlet was bound not too long ago by the rules of a certain kind of playfighting game, and it seems that she has not yet gotten out of the habit.

Observe. As she skids to a halt and tries to sit up, her head falls completely flat, leaving her staring out and upside-down from the back of her neck. She raises her hands, toddles to her feet, tries to twist her head back the right way, falls flat on her rump, then shakily waves her arm in the wrong direction.

Hark! A burst of wild red orbs scatters out behind her, in a pattern of incredible intricacy, arranged with all the delicacy of a sad carnation. Spirals upon spirals, wobbling in and out of each other, arranged in a cascading wave. A fractal starburst of death, delivered with elegant nonchalance, a beautiful show of art and terror...

It floats to the ceiling, then blinks out, scattering with the faint scent of cherries and vanilla. A bit of a pretty diversion, if you ask me. Like fireworks.

She's still trying to get her head back on. And before you ask, no, I don't know who I am, either. I guess someone had to do the narrating job, what with that broken neck and all.

Probably won't even get paid for this, either.

Weiss Schnee - You Are Now Experiencing A Takeover; Streets Outside Convenience Store

"Yang Xiao Long, where the hell have you been?" came a voice from a little ways up.

Said voice was coming from Weiss Schnee, who strode angrily up the road towards the blonde brawler and her captive.

"I've been looking all over for you, ever since I fell off that metal deathtrap you call transport! You're lucky I had my aura up!"

Her gaze turned to the man Yang had by the wrist, noting the obvious pain on his face and his attempts at struggling.

"Who's this?" She asked, with a mixture of exasperation and disdain.

Qrow - Underworld Man; Arena

"Those things?" Qrow scoffed at the cattle prods. "They're bigger idiots that I though if they think those will bring that beast down."

At the mention of illicit substances, Qrow reached into his pocket, retrieving his flask and taking a swig from it. He held it out to Taiga, offering him some.

He wasn't gonna ask about the jail time. They'd said at the start that he'd killed people, and Qrow could believe it. But it wasn't polite to ask someone about their jail time. That had gotten him into more than one fight before he'd wised up.

"I know Kage's type. You can only trust them so long as you're paying them for the words coming out of their mouth. Everything else is lies. After all, if he's only using the bear because we're here, why'd he have it? We're in the middle of a goddamn city, and I doubt that the zoo does rentals."

I really did not want to resort to violence, but at this point it is the only language that the scum of society such as these peons would bother listen to. The biggest fist had the right to be heard and what remained of their brain cells urged them onto the least optimal path possible in this event. It was in a word... idiotic.

Yet, we cannot kill in this place. It was the civilized modern world, my home country in fact. People will turn a blind eye to crime as long as too much waves aren't made but once actual murder happens then we would be the nail that was to be smashed down, the hammer being the vengeful syndicates and the law itself. "Try not to dole out lethal blows, people. Crippling and maiming is fine as long as they survive long enough to be carted to the hospitals."

One man armed with a katana dashing my way, the weapon in his hands used in the manner of a lumberjack trying to fell a tree with his ax. A bullet to the abdomen could easily have handled this situation but... one didn't have a chance to engage in swordplay all that often on the battlefield and I must not let any skill that guaranteed survival to rust. Humans need to be able to use any and all tools after all.

Sliding the cavalry saber out of its sheathe, I couldn't help but smile. Yes, one had to make do with what they have. Swords were easier to control than bullets and it was fitting to the situation at hand. One step, one strike. The modern day man would never be as capable as the warriors used to bathing their cold steel in blood.

A shift to the side, a twirl on the axis to try to dodge the blow with my small frame... and then the flash of a blade as my saber snaked out to slice towards the hamstring to try to topple over the larger opponent. Over extending is a sin in the world of swordplay for a reason.

The Kid, Club

The Kid glanced askance at Baron, impressed at the quick and smart way he'd dealt with the thugs. He was almost embarrassed to have not thought of going a similar way, instead having been fully expecting to have to drag them out if they didn't calm down. He nodded in thanks at the large man.

When Baron moved away from the men, the young soldier drifted away as well; Back to his task of watching over the club for any issues. So, when he spotted the man already moving back towards him in a hurry, The Kid paused in confusion. The confusion only grew when he revealed what the problem was, the teen growing a touch bewildered. He glanced at the kid, and then back to Baron. What did kids that age even like to do? He didn't know. He supposed he could entertain him with Fetching Fizz. A kid would find that amusing, right? After a moment, The Kid nodded. "Yeah, I think I could do that. Is there anywhere I should take him?"

2B - Shrine

As her targets dropped, 2B turned towards the leader of the group, her spear flipping in her hands into a ready position behind her. Noise behind her prompted a rapid flick of the eyes towards her companions, and she spotted the men charging towards Tanya.

"Pod, support her."

Pod 042 immediately dropped his shouting cargo onto the rooftop above the park and swooped down towards the advancing thugs. His boxy upper section opened to allow a stubby gatling gun to unfold. With a precisely targeted sweep, he fired an arc of bright yellow laser blasts right in the paths of the two unarmed men charging at Tanya, a few even singing the yakazua's toes.

2B, meanwhile, saw the enemy leader leveling some sort of small firearm at her, and with another flash of yellow light she was on the move. The pale android half-dashed, half-slid out of the way of the first shot and advanced on the trio of thugs by curving in from the left side, forcing the leader to have to shoot a moving target from behind his underling. Keeping the human between her and the gunman, she crossed the last of the distance with a flying kick that would hopefully send the man in front crashing into both his companions - and if not, her spear flashed and spun in her hands to deliver another flurry of follow-up blows.

Uzume & "Junko"- Costume Contest

"Alright, Zazamel, let's go!" Uzume was excited to get the show on the road.

After a long and rather boring wait, Uzume and Junko made it to the desk. Uzume herself responded with confidence that contrasted the "Black Swordsman".

"Name's Uzume Tennobushi. I'll be entering as Orange Heart. And what about you?" She looked to Junko

Junko slowly realized as the other two were speaking that she forgot the "costume" aspect was part of a costume contest. Meaning she would have to be dressing up as somebody.

Her mind kinda blanked out for the next couple of seconds. I mean, she could bring that up, but then there would be a lot of questions. Come on, something fictional, something created... wait, she got it.

"My name's Junko Enoshima! Put me down as Monokuma!"

She thought she nailed it.

Yang - Around (Near Elise)

"I don't know!" Yang said to Weiss. "He was trying to knife some guy at the minimart so I stopped it, but I'm kinda in a hurry here."

She waved around the microwaved sandwich tray and slightly rolled her eyes, as if it explained everything.

"Some moron was willing to give me two million yen for this thing so I'm going back to the club," she said. With a minor grunt, she used her other hand to shove the guy who was trapped in her grip away from her. "But now you're here, great. Just put this guy on ice or something and follow me."

She took one step forward, then looked back at Weiss with a smile.

"We can walk and talk," she winked. "And you can tell me all about how you can't keep your legs closed around me and fell off of Bumblebee."

KITT - Around (Near Contest Place)

"Zasalamel is a unique name," KITT said to the newcomer. After the 'drive' of a whole two seconds when he came to a stop in front of the costume contest, he politely opened the door again. "We were not given any signifigant information regarding the Tower climbers already pleasant in this city, and as we have only recently arrived we have not met many. Will you be able to assist in identifying more of our new teammates when they appear?"

His glove compartment opened up a bit to reveal his 3D printer, inside of which were a few earpieces he had printed out. "Please take an earwig so that we may remain in contact if separated. They fit easily into your ear and will allow for constant communication between us."

"I will remain outside to provide information and surveillance," he said over his comm to Samus, Junko, Kirito, Uzume, and whoever else either had an earwig or was on the channel with their own device. "If you require assistance, I will be standing by."

Costume Contest Sign Up

So his name was Zasalamel. It didn't quite sound like a human name, but she wasn't going to probe him for more answers. He was on the same mission as them, so why did the details matter?

"Call me Samus," she said to him with a short nod. KITT drove them to what looked like a large building made for events. The idea to sign up for and win a costume contest was a good one, but Samus had just about no idea how these things were done. Determined to not let that stop her, she got out of the truck and stood in line to register. She'd follow the rest of the group's lead. When Kirito, Uzume, and Junko were finished, she reached the woman at the desk.

"Samus Aran. Enter me as..."She paused. What did the space pirates call her in their abandoned logs again? "The Hunter."

Kashira Lavellan - Battle Center - Business Arrangements

Kashira restrained a sigh of relief. No one's dead. The detective was reasonable. The crime boss seems oddly happy about the battle about to be waged in his arena. Maybe if we wait for a chance, we can even still take down Dio. Of course, there were the usual loose ends and concerns. That money is definitely not free, there's a price attached, later if not now. There's still the matter of the other travelers here and their intentions, which I'm certain are not good. They may still be hostile to Majima if that seems like the best way to make easy money and if they agree to employment, that's a whole different problem. And as usual, nothing we can do about any of it. We have, more or less, what we came for.

She nodded to Claw.

"It would seem our business is done, yes, save for those two things."

The woman with the broken neck abruptly began thrashing around in a horrific parody of motion, looking for all the world like a puppet with its strings tangled. Not only that, she drew on some kind of power in a display that, althoug harmless, alerted Kashira that she was feeling inclined to do harm once she recovered more fully. The elf turned her attention back to Dio's remaining intact companions and kept one eye on Remilia.

"Do you have a means by which we can restrain your friend while we move her? I'm not as familiar with her capabilities as you are."

Sabrina, Club

Sabrina took the golden plate and was tempted to just hand it back to him. However, he did mention that this could be sold for a good amount of money, and money from here was what they needed if they were to escape. Sabrina smiled back at the nerd.

"Hey, you sought to improve yourself and wanted help, which I don't think is something to be laughed at," Sabrina gave him a thumbs up. "I wish you luck with her!"

Once the nerd had left, Sabrina stored the golden plate for safe-keeping until Yang returned back to the Club.

Shrine - Nitori

Stealth had been Nitori's priority lately. Optical camouflage and armour. It almost made her giddy inside to possess such a potent combination as combat raged.

The fact that they were fighting was somewhat confusing to her. She had to admit she might not have been paying all that much attention, she was busy imagining herself heading some manner of conglomerate here. Superior kappa leadership would no doubt quickly outcompete whichever human thought goons with swords was a good idea.

In any case, it seemed like she was on the winning side of this bout. She saw the blindfolded one launch into her attack, and decided to back her up. Holding up gauntleted hand, she fired two lasers at the leader with the firearm.

Even if her aim was somehow off, she was still cloaked. It would be fine.

Weiss - I don't know who Elise is but we're near her

Weiss sighed, and pulled her rapier from it's resting place. She stabbed it into the ground at the robber's feet, before releasing a burst of Ice Dust. A large block of ice grew beneath the man's feet, trapping him from the knees down.

Without a word to the man, she turned on her heel and followed Yang before shooting her a glare.

"Please, even I know the proper procedure for a motorcycle is wrap your arms around the driver. It's just that your mane got in the way." Weiss said with a roll of the eyes. "I honestly wonder how Neptune managed it."

Sumireko, Shrine of FIGHT
Yes...yes! YES! Power overwhelming! There was no limit to the might that Sumireko could exert over the forces of the world! Though Sumireko had the serious temptation to cast her mortal flesh aside and ascend into the godhead right then and there, she had yet to save the rest of her shrine buddies. Omnipotence can wait.

More to the point, Sumireko tried to bind the legs of the man that Tanya was getting after in place. She didn't really get the non-lethal memo, so she figured that a stabbing charge might help.

Yang - Around (Near Elise) -> Elise

"Well excuuuuuuse me, Ice Queen," Yang said. "I didn't realize Neptune is more coordinated than you. It took a Paladin to get him off, I didn't know my hair was all it takes for you." She threw her head back to let her hair shake for a moment, then nodded her head in the direction of the would-be robber Weiss had iced. "We should send some cops his way later before he thaws out."

She stomped up to the rear entrance of Elise, came in through the back door without much fanfare, and took a brief moment to pause at the counter. She grabbed a (hopefully) clean plate, put the sandwich on it, and threw the empty container into the recycle - this may not be Remnant but it helped to do the right thing for the environment regardless.

"Alright, one tuna sandwich, two million yen, let's see the money," she said, setting it down in front of Tuna Sandwich Guy and giving him an intense gaze.

Baron, How To Handle Kids

The Kid was willing to help out with the kid, so that was a good start. Diverting his attention to Yang's dramatic entrance - she actually bought the sandwich, too - for a moment and then going back to his partner-in-crime, Baron rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "I dun honestly know what to do with a kid like dat. Friend had a daughter, but she stayed in less... city-ish settings, dig?"

"I mean, dis whole city ain't no place for any kid. I guess there's da arcade. Or we could ask one of our ladies if they have anythin' better to suggest." For all his smoothness at handling the yakuza goons, this was one thing the Blacker Baron could safely say he was bad at.

Veronica - Batting Center

An offer to work for Majima? In spite of her distaste for Yakuza, that might have been a fun way to make some money... but Veronica had the feeling they would be on their way as soon as some loose ends had been tied up.

"Hm. It's nice of you to offer, but I don't think I have time for anything long term like that. We'll probably be moving on from here pretty shortly."

Koishi - Not as good at this as she thought she was

Impressive as Koishi's barrage of bullets may have been, it proves fruitless against a machine that's programmed to react to normal punches and kicks. By the time the now-airborne fighter begins his second charge, Koishi quickly brings up her fists in what she thinks a defensive stance looks like. A bit of good ol' fisticuffs is the order of the day.

Unfortunately for Koishi, she is almost entirely dependent upon her bullets and ability to maneuver around her foes. With those two advantages gone, she is almost entirely without an arsenal. Her punches are, to be generous, uncoordinated. She lands blows where she can, and it's possible she could even slip underneath her much larger opponent and make herself harder to hit, but she's so inexperienced in close combat that the thought doesn't even occur to her.

Within seconds, Koishi's been battered all over. The game's virtual nature prevents her from feeling any pain, but her pride is thoroughly stung.

Descending to the ground, Koishi uses the few seconds she assumes it will take for her opponent to reappear to try and formulate a plan; when it comes to fighting, she's usually pretty good at those. If nothing else, improvisation is one of her greatest strengths. Koishi's eyes dart around, searching for anything she might be able to use, but she finds nothing. Just her fists it is.

Koishi frowns in frustration. What would Yuugi do? She's play-sparred with her friend many a time, although never seriously, and never with fists. Yuugi would blow her away in an instant if they did that; even Koishi knows that. Yuugi doesn't really block or dodge much, but that's because she's so tough. Koishi knows she doesn't have Yuugi's muscles, so she's going to have to dodge a lot.

That's when it hits her: Even if she can't keep her distance by flying, she can still hover an inch or so off the ground to make use of her airborne mobility; and she's much quicker like that than she is on her feet. Okay, this should work. Her opponent is bearing down on her now, but she has a plan.

Koishi's punches are still uncoordinated. She's still trying to work out how to properly block punches, and her fists don't have a lot of power behind them, but she's frighteningly quick compared to the average person. She's pretty sure she can just dodge a whole lot and win that way.

Although this does give her an even better idea: This game could be a great chance for her to try and learn how to fight better with her fists, in case she ever needs to in the future. Koishi decides that, starting with the next fighter, she's going to try and come up with a better fighting style to fall back on. That way, if someone tries to run up and punch her in the face, she might be able to punch them in the face first! That would really show them.

Neferpitou - Purrrsuit

Nails screech on the floor as Pitou skids to a halt, carving thin lines where her fingers make contact. Dio's back on his feet quicker than she expects, and in an instant he's leaped through the netting on the ceiling. Pitou bends her body to dodge the small child he sends her way, and she considers feeling out his aura a bit more before pouncing again, but she doesn't have the time: The thrown child suddenly explodes into an angry shower of projected aura, coating the room in what looks to be a very bad time.

Pitou's thighs bulge unnaturally again as she positions herself into a crouch, then she kicks off from the floor with enough force to make it buckle. She's airborne, and she's just as fast as before, hurtling toward Dio with arms pulled back and ready to thrust forward. She's less aerodynamic this way, but it won't make a difference at this range. She'll reach him in under a second, and that's all it'll take to sever his head.

Pitou's right arm lances toward Dio's neck; far larger a target than on most humans, she notes. Her eyes are wide and feral, taking in all the details she can, looking for any sign that he might try and meet her charge. She's ready to counterattack. That's what her left arm is for, and why it's still pulled back for now.

But Dio is ready, too. With a speed she couldn't have predicted he had, Pitou's wrist is caught between his massive fingers. Her left arm shoots out to strike at his unprotected midsection, but it's deflected by his other arm coming up to bash at the inside of her elbow.

Her eyes catch it as his counterattack begins: it isn't speed. He's quick, but she's clearly quicker. He reacted to her at just the right moment, because he created a position in which she could only come at him from one direction. He knew she'd pounce again, despite having only a split second to judge her fighting style, and now little else he knew about her. It's obvious, now that she thinks about it: If she'd had any sort of ranged option, she'd have used it to ambush him, rather than risking herself by jumping in herself. With that in mind, Dio must have felt confident that any distance he created between them would have to be closed, and that her only option for closing it would be to jump at him from below.

He's smart; smarter than she anticipated, and smarter than she's used to dealing with. Pitou ponders this as she's thrown through the batting center's ceiling and out into the street. The fall doesn't hurt; she's shrugged off far worse. However, Dio is clearly a much more dangerous opponent than she thought he would be.

Pitou rights herself in midair just before landing, the claws on her feet scarring the concrete across the street from the batting center. Fine then, she decides. She'll just wait and let him come to her for now. Obviously he's looking for more room to maneuver. Both of them know that trick of his won't work a second time, so open space is probably Dio's best chance of survival. He likely hasn't measured how far she can pounce, however, so as far as she can tell, the advantage is still hers, for now.

Pitou's pointed teeth flash. This is purrfect.

The Kid, Club

"Arcade?" The Kid asked the Baron, curiosity and unfamiliarity obvious in his voice. He had just assumed he would be keeping an eye on the kid inside of the club, not taking him away from it. The young soldier was unfamiliar with so many things in this new world, and while he knew he could look after himself; He had even less of an idea of what to do with the boy. "Asking might be a good idea."
