Yang - Kamurocho Square Arcade District

"Suit yourselves," Yang said, finishing off the sandwich with just a few large bites. It's been so long since she left home, a perfectly fine and wrapped sandwich sure beat whatever she could scrounge on the road. It was pretty good too, they just didn't know what they were missing out on. Rich people.

"Well now that that's over, I was thinking of getting a drink at the club and then seeing who I could squeeze for information on how to get money," she added, now that she didn't have a blob of bread wedged into her teeth. "So what's a Pachinko? And Japan's this place, right? You a local? Or at least from this planet? If you are I could use an explanation or two for why nobody's got an aura, the roads are small and you drive on the wrong side, everyone's dressed like nerds, and the moon's just a circle."

Lusamine - Smile Burger

Lusamine sat down next to Lillie, taking a moment to enjoy the (relative) peace at the singular moment in time. No doubt the tall man in gold or the singing robot would disturb the situation irreparably soon enough, but hopefully she could get through most of her food first.

Picking up one of her fries, she smiled and held it down toward's Lillie's bag, where she saw Nebby had been eating some of the fries Lillie was sneaking him.

Scaramouche - All About Aku

Scaramouche had stopped singing as the Baron had asked him about his boss, Aku. The musician had replied, "You better sit down for this one, babe, cuz' it's a doozy, and don't worry, I ain't gonna sing, unless you want me to. Ahem. Way long ago, like way long in my time, Aku was this big, shadowy demon that conquered the world and soon the entire universe. Aku was made of pure evil, down to his name in some language, and he knows it. But, he's a swell guy, babe. Always appreciated my tunes, yet there was always something bugging him. There was always that Samurai Jack cat that has the only means of truly killing him thanks to that magic sword he's always carrying around and he knows he can't face him mano-a-mano. So, it's up to me to finally take him down. Plenty tried and plenty failed, but I can assure you, that I can smack Jack back to where he belongs, to the grave, baby! Do-do-do-do!"

Heavy - Not-So Heavy Weapons

The Heavy had heard the explanation of the Weapons Grand Prix and checked to see if the clerk would accept his guns, "I will enter myself as The Heavy. Here is my weapon. I call her Sasha. Please, don't touch her. If you cannot accept her, then I shall offer you my shotgun in her place. Sasha will have to cheer me on from the sidelines." If either cannot be accepted, he'll have to settle with boxing.

The Kid, Smile Burger

With nothing much to do while he waited for the food, The Kid turned his quiet attention towards the others. He watched it mild interest as the small girl in the fancy clothing flickered around the building much like an Ura. Disappearing from one place, and reappearing in another a moment later with no movement his eye could follow. The thought of the Ura, of his home, left a sickly feeling in his gut. He still hadn't quite absorbed all the things he'd learned just before ending up in this impossible event. He didn't want to linger on it currently, and turned his attention elsewhere.

The food was a nice distraction, and the young soldier followed the rest towards the oddly shiny and strange-coloured table. Passing Baron and Scaramouche, his pace halted briefly as his ears caught what the odd machine was talking about. He frowned, eyebrows dropping heavily at what the thing spoke about. The once interesting machine was now something he'd keep a close eye on. Removing his pack and weapons, and placing them on the floor within reach, The Kid joined the rest of the group in sitting down; His own food placed in front of him.

He took a few minutes to just look it over. Crinkling the waxy paper between his fingers, looking over the images on it, picking up one of the little yellow sticks and eating it. It was very salty. He tried another one, eyeing the colourful container that had come with the food. The straw sticking out the top made it obvious what it was, but the teen had no clue what the drink might be. Only one way to find out. Lifting it carefully, he took a sip.

Sweetness flooded his mouth, almost sickly, and it tingled in his mouth like a shot of Fetching Fizz. Not expecting something so sweet, he almost spat the drink out; Instead managing to swallow before coughing briefly as he choked on it. "What is that?"

Arcade District

"Pachinko's a game that's like pinball, except you want to make it fall into the correct hole after it bounces through an obstacle courses of pegs. It's a strange game but that's what happens when you encounter most of the more questionable things made by the Japanese." Responding in an unruffled manner, Lucifer assumed a disposition that was unknowingly more closer to that of Beelzebub's for the moment, finding it a bit fun to change her character up. "As for Japan, it is a couple of large islands that together counts as a small nation and where we're located. I don't know exactly which part we're on exactly but if Kamurocho is anything like Kabukicho, then I'd say we're on Honshu, the biggest of Japan's four most major islands."

"I'm an guest of a planet that shares the same overall makeup in that the planet is called Earth and has a Japan but I believe this is still a parallel universe from the one I hail from. My true homeland is from an interconnected realm that occasionally crosses over into Earth due to a breach. Humans don't have much of an aura because many have forgotten the old ways, though I believe you're referring to something that's quite different from aura as I know it. The roads are small because small country, they drive on the wrong side because some places do that, and the moon is round because that's how moons are. For it to be broken, a cataclysmic event such as being slammed at with meteors or a particularly powerful Monster's Strike Shot would have to happen."

Now bored with how much she had to talk for, the woman immediately nixed any further scholarly shenanigans in order relax and enjoy being economical once more. "Though I guess before we can make some money, we can go baiting at the bars. Troublesome as it is, the nightlife is something where information thrives and thus can make the immediate future easier. I'm also thirsty from talking that much. It's not something I usually do." Blunt pragmatism coloring her immediate concerns over the good of the group, the Lord of the Fallen stated this with a rather calm face.

Smile Burger

"That's called a soda, or a soft drink. Despite its name, it's quite a bit powerful in punch to newcomers thanks to the characteristic fizz caused by carbonation and the bubbles. It's best if you take it in slowly so as to get accustomed to it before taking longer quaffs, much like how some people get accustomed to alcohol. Most are known for the fizz as well as overall sweetness thanks to either sugar or sweetened syrups." Continuing this task of walking the Kid through modern day society's various inventions with methodical precision, I drank from my own cup. Although I wasn't usually one for sugary pop, it had been a while since I tasted anything modern and sugars could help build up magical energies quite easily so that was two birds with one stone.

Yang - Kamurocho Square Arcade District

Yang nodded along as Lucy explained how things work, occasionally thinking about her sandwich and where she could get more, until the Monster mentioned going to bars.

"Now you're speaking my language, let's go hit up the club," Yang replied to Lucy. She couldn't spot a trash can close by, so she shoved the wrapper for the sandwich back in the thug's jacket pocket.

With a quick hop to straddle Bumblebee once more, she revved up the engine and coasted it the short distance towards Lucy, coming to a stop near her. "Let's get going, I could go for a strawberry sunrise," she said. She paused as she thought of something, looking up at the moon briefly. If that could be different, then it could mean... no... no. It would be too cruel. "This planet has strawberries, right? Right?"

Sabrina, Smile Burger

Once Sabrina got her food and her currency back, she put the 1480 yen back in her pocket and floated her plate of food to her table with her telekinetic powers. Once she sat next to Lusamine and put her tray of food on the table, Sabrina began munching on the fries.

"So what do we plan to do after we finish eating here?" Sabrina asked the other Climbers who were in the Smile Burger.

"You know, the man did say there was only one spot open in the weapons competition." Qrow remarked to Heavy and Toph. "We all aren't getting in."

He reached into his pocket, and pulled a small plastic card out.

"We gonna decide amongst ourselves, or are we tossing a lien for it?"

"Dat a good idea, hangin' 'round a guy made of pure evil? Sure he pays ya, homie, but if ya dun deal with da samurai, chances are he just gut ya if ya goof." Baron shook his head. Scaramouche had a pleasant demeanor, but all this talk about Aku was starting to put him on edge. "'sides, it sounds like ya're puttin' yaself in da highlights of everybody here."

"I dunno about ya, but shaking down sum bad guys ain't no bad thing." He looked over to Sabrina, indulging himself with the burger. "So yeah, I think we need to get into sum moneymakin'. We can still do da photoshoot if we can get sum camera somewhere, or maybe we can" He looked over to Tanya with a grin, lowering his voice a little. Guts, Purgatory

As Guts listens to the rules being relayed to him, a rapping of metal catches his attention. Seeing as Toph didn't touch his skin, he simply turned to gaze at the old woman with an uncaring scowl, rather than lash out as he did before.

She asked to borrow the sword. And said she'd 'set it back in shape' and return it to him. Not understanding why she thought he'd be okay with her just messing with his sword like that (how would she even do that without a blacksmith's forge?), it was no surprise that the swordsman didn't trust her with it, much like the fat man and his strange cannon.

"No."

An old man who was with them, the one carrying his own sword, suggested 'flipping a Lien' for whoever could enter the weapons tournament.

"Fine by me. I don't care what I enter."

Guts was bored, frankly speaking. The tension from his earlier episode in the Tower had well worn off, and his distaste at his ridiculous mission objective was taking over. A mission was a mission, however, and he'd have to get it done if he ever wanted to face him.

Turning to the man at the counter, Guts regaled him with the necessary details.

"Guts. Fighting style? How about 'mercenary style'. You can call me the Black Swordsman in the ring, but I won't be needing my sword. Not for a one-on-one."

He stared at the giant metal thing sheathed on his back. It wasn't called the Dragonslayer because it was an ordinary sword that one might use in a formal duel.

Kotobuki Drugs

The man at the counter responded to the threat by chuckling.

"It would seem your daughter has seen one too many crime dramas. You did a good job mimicking the script, sweetie, even if you don't know what half those words mean yet." He looked up at Dio and Medusa. "Now then, how may I help you?"

Arcade District

Suddenly, a man with sunglasses on appeared next to yang's bike, his arms crossed.

"You three, you got a minute?"

He waited a second for the three to turn to him.

"I was just observing your scuffle with those ruffians, and I can tell just from looking at you three that your physical potential is through the roof, which is even rarer for females in this country then it is for males, even if you do look to be from out of country. Tell me, ladies, do you know about the looming crisis Japan faces?"

Coliseum

"...." The man at the counter hesitated a second, to confirm that 2B's name was indeed not a joke, before writing it down.

"I will put your fighting style as "Mixed Martial Arts". A ring name is, in essense, a nickname. Something quick, descriptive, snappy, and something that represents who you are. The man next to you has a good one, it seems, "The Black Swordsman." Our most famous competitor, Kazuma Kyiru, has the ring name of "The Dragon of Domjima". You will need one of your own if you wish to set foot in the ring."

Next he turned to Heavy. "Once again, sir, you may not use your own firearms within the arena. And again, I stress, only one slot remains in the weapons grand prix. Please figure out who will be taking that slot soon, as registrations will be closing soon. And is Heavy your real name, or ring name? I will need an entry for whichever it is not."

Lastly, he turned to Guts, and wrote down the information.

"Thank for you giving the information in a quick and concise manner. Dispite being the last to speak, you are the first to be registered."

Sky Finance

"Well, that depends on a few things." Akiyama said as he scratched his head. "For one thing, how much of a loan would you want? And is this just for you, or for this larger group you've mentioned? if the latter, then I'd like to have some of them involved in my tests as well. Regardless of how you answer, I'll need time to get the tests ready. And of course, I must warn you, if you fail any of my tests, you leave with nothing, having only succeeded in wasting your time. With this in mind, do you still want to request a loan?"

Don Quijote

The group was faced with an older gentlemen, who bowed as the group approached, carefully heard what they said, and then responded in order.

"We have some spare cardboard boxes in packaging, a few used tables, near the back, some blank signs and calligraphy supplies will probably be with the stationary, some scented candles with be with housewares, and the only fireworks we have are some sparklers. I'm afraid we don't have uniforms."

At this point, Zazy spoke from the back. "I fail to see why we need uniforms. Most of us are dressed well enough for the part, and regardless, based on the prices I've seen and using those to estimate a rough price for clothing, we likely do not have enough funds for matching clothing for all of us, even if we somehow located them in such varied sizes."

Yang - Arcade District

"Uhh..." Yang said, giving the guy a glance. "Sorry pal, I'm from out of town, I don't really know what crisis is going on here. We were just looking for a club to hang out in, so unless you've got a way for us to make money by punching people who deserve it I don't know...."

She paused for a moment, thinking about what sort of 'crisis' a sketchy guy in Remnant might be talking about, and realized there was one option she didn't want anything to do with.

Even if he did have pretty cool glasses.

"And it better not be a race rally!"

Lusamine - Smile Burger

Lusamine looked at the Baron, following his gaze towards Tanya, and then returned her focus to the gold-clad pimp.

"And just what," she said with no emotion. "Sort of photos do you intend to shoot?"

Staring at the sudden stranger that literally popped out of nowhere before the group with a quirked eyebrow, the fallen angel couldn't help but slightly wrinkle her nose at the man's... rather blunt statement considering the inherent physical inferiority of humanoid females. This in turn led the woman to be rather acerbic with her answer to said question. "Japan is suffering from the economic bubble burst, rampant xenophobia, low birthrates in proportion to unmarried/elderly, unemployed parasites, unspoken abuse cases... and the JSDF are full of idiots that try to grab for the forbidden fruit. There's a lot more I can list off the top of my head but then we'll be here all night." Truly the Lord of the Fallen doesn't hold back in the least when listing off the sins of humanity.

Kashira Lavellan - Don Quijote - Heraldry From A Herald

Kashira stepped closer to Zasalamel, so as to speak without being overheard by anyone save themselves and their little band.

"I agree, uniforms, at least for now, just aren't practical, but that doesn't mean we don't need a symbol, something we can all wear that marks us as people to know, hopefully to respect, and if need be, to fear. Surely the faiths of your world have such things?"

She glanced to Reimu.

"If you can sense anything divine here, any suggestions you have would be welcome."

Then, to Sumireko.

"And if you know these people, you must know what symbols they would consider holy or at least spiritual in nature. It doesn't have to be much. Once we begin our works, we'll give them weight. But it has to have meaning."

Big D and the Crime Girls: Kotobuki Drugs

And then we arrived, rendering moot any possible response; I'd commited a serious misapprehension. Naively, unthinkingly, I'd assumed Kotobuki Drugs to be a pharmacy in the western model, to only model to which I am used, humbly sized but respectably stocked, at the very least an establishment resembling a business - I'd forgotten where I was. In Tokyo, all space is at a premium.

Kotobuki Drugs was an establishment the exact height and only twice the width of its door, shrinking away from the surrounding businesses to become the size of a generous closet. Inside, shallow shelves, dusty wares, a fluorescent light at the very bitter end of its usable lifespan. Were I to hazard a guess, and I will, I'd say this was a former convenience store converted by minds with an eye for low rent and a feel for bulk-bought painkillers.

In any case, a sorry target for a sorry heist.

Closing the door behind me, I stepped forward towards the counter, readjusting the plan accordingly. Remilia had already begun this pettiest of all larcenies, and had predictably been rebuked - I brushed her gently to the side, and in a swift motion took the owner by the head and bounced it off the till. Gently, you understand, as these things go. I felt his nose give way, and doubted he'd wake for the next few minutes, but the man would live. The security camera winked at me from its perch in an upper corner; I smiled back.

"No attention we can't handle," I told Medusa, who shared my natural caution, "so long as nobody dies. Theft is common in Tokyo, and this establishment is... regrettably low-profile. I don't expect we'll be public enemies."

I slumped the owner onto the floor, and with a swift jab of my thumb broke open the till; a pittance, as was expected. No money box behind the counter I could see, but I doubted it could contain much more than a few thousand yen of float - the man most likely took his earnings home in his back pocket. There was a door at the back of this place, most likely some kind of storeroom, and as I pocketed the scant 13,000 yen from the till (a slow day within a slow existence) it was this to which I gravitated.

"Opiates," I said, parroting dear Remilia's stand and deliver. "Codeine, oxycodone, morphine if you can find it. Majima seems an enterprising fellow. If we can't get our money directly, we'll steal what we can can and sell it to him. I'm sure he'll appreciate the business."

I grasped the handle of the storeroom door, and with a careful yank tore it open. The lock, bent and broken, rebounded from the counter before landing with a careless serendipity on Desco's submersible head.

"Medusa should be able to tell you what's valuable," I said, to nobody in particular, and then allowed myself a foolish hope. "Unless any of you can make crystal meth?"

Reimu - Don who?

Reimu wandered along the aisles, picking up signs, paper and some cheap ink and inkbrushes. Used to working within limited means, she studied the brands on display with a great deal of scrutiny, trying to save as much money as possible.

"Uniforms are not necessary, no, but some simple white or undyed robes for certain rituals would be nice."

"Hmm, holy symbols..." she said to Kashira. "I can sense nothing of divine power within this shop, or anywhere we've been so far. I fear we might have arrived in another word devoid of deities and spirits, but I'll try contacting them later anyway. You never know if they just want to keep a low profile. I have the divine treasures of the Hakurei Shrine with me, however. They'll work for now, until we can establish a shintai."

Reimu realized that this would technically make it a branch shrine of the Hakurei Shrine, which made her smile.

"Now then, I think we have enough for making paper talismans and simple fortunes. That should be enough for setting up rudimentary shrine services. Zasalamel, could you bring along one or two tables? Oh, and could someone take along one of those large see-through water containers? I suppose we'll have to consecrate our shrine grounds ourselves, so we'll need plenty of water for the purification rituals."

Just because there were no divine spirits around didn't mean there were no evil spirits around, after all. When setting up a shrine, it was important to pay attention to the small details.

Sumireko, Don Quijhy the Heck Don't You Have Uniforms
"Come on...It makes us look more official, guys!" Sumireko turned around to express her frustration. She turned back just as quickly to bow to the clerk and say "Thank you for your help," and then turned back to continue. "People are just gonna think we're a bunch of cosplaying nerds if we don't have something in common..."

"...But, yeaaah, we don't have that much..."

As much as she'd hate to admit it, they'd have to wait until they suckered some people to get them. Of course, she wouldn't admit it out loud.

When the conversation came to symbols, however, it was her time to shine. She turned away from the three of them while Reimu spoke, hunched over something...until finally, she turned around and presented the group with the screen of her tablet, and a...really really rough draft.

"I know it looks bad now, but here! It's a combination of your yin-yang and my pentagram, Reimu! This just screams cult! We get someone to properly draw it out, and people will know exactly what they're getting into," she said, almost beaming with enthusiasm. "This logo's seriously gonna win people over."

Baron, On Photos

"Whazzat?" The magnificent opulence that was The Blacker Baron looked up from his burger at Lusamine and Sabrina. "What kinda question is dat? Da best photos we can think of, 'course!"

Realizing after a moment that this might not be the answer that the two were looking for, he decided to elaborate. "We've got all of 'em crazy duds, dig? No need to get costumes if we all wear dis kind of stuff. Major dere, peeps will think she just cosplayin', an' ya'll always find a tourist willin' to get a nice photo from da trip."

Claw, On Loans

He thought about this for a moment. It would be easy enough to request 10 million yen - it seemed that money was not an issue Akiyama concerned himself with - but at the same time a few hurdles were in the way. First, a couple of Climbers were... a little unsavory as far as Claw was concerned. The likes of Guts or Dio he could not in full conscience support. Plus, it seemed logical to assume that the more money he requested, the harder the test would be.

Trying to get people in contact in here was also something of a challenge. The pirate would rather not waste time trying to find the specific people. "Communication has always been a bit of a bother in this group..." He muttered, rubbing his chin in thought. "But yes, I think I would like a loan." Another moment of thought. "One million yen on me, then."

Reimu - Symbolism, ho!

Reimu frowned at Sumireko's drawing. She didn't know what the girl meant with "screaming cult", so she put it down to it being an Outside World expression. They did speak strange here sometimes.

"A combination of the taijitu and the seiman?"

The shrine maiden had to admit, she hadn't put Sumireko down as a student of the Wu Xing. People were full of surprises.

"Hmm, an interesting concept. Traditionally, the wu xing would be placed on the outside, making unity into multiplicity. But with the five agents placed within yang, you're trying to symbolize our multitude of powers working for the power of light, the active positive princible working against the negative? I like it, let's go with that."

The Kid, Smile Burger

"Soda, huh." The Kid took another tentative sip after Tanya's explanation, this time only taking a little bit. It was still incredibly sweet and sickly, but he drank it anyway. It would be a waste, and at least it tasted mildly enjoyable, unlike most of the spirits he had. Then a part of what the young girl had said caught his attention. "They have other types? What kinds?"

Unwrapping the Smile Burger, the young soldier picked it up as he glanced at Baron. "What's cosplay?" Then he took a bite of the burger, his eyes widening in surprise at the taste. He glanced at it for a moment, before rapidly devouring it almost instantly; And with little in the way of manners.

Robbing a Drug Store

Desco watched as Remilia's efforts were obviously sweeped aside as she was a child. Desco was about to show her how its done by killing the shopkeeper, but Dio quickly KO'd the man and proceded to start the robbing. "Ohh this was too easy. Desco wants to try something more suitable to a Final Boss. Like a bank!" Desco summoned Yogsothoth behind her, looking at the things on the shelves. While she might be young she wasn't completely clueless when it came to medicine. It was a useful bit of knowledge from when Klarion's power was inside her along with other Alchemical notes.

She responded to Dio's question. "Oh, Desco could probably do that..." She put up one finger. "But not only is that a dangerous process but its something she only knows about from Klarion's mind. Desco has never had to deal in illegal drugs before, she had minions to handle such minor details. There would be much more potent drugs to make if we had access to demon parts."

2B - Coliseum

The woman in black's stoic facade cracked a second time, a look of confused derision crossing her face. A short name that encapsulated who she was? She already had one of those - 2B! What else could she do, follow Nine's example and ask to be called "Tubes?" No.

"'cause if ya do, well, ya dun have to try it. Nobody dun have to try it if they dun want, sheesh. An' besides, dat child ya speak about is probably ten times as adult as ya or dis Baron both." Deciding that Lusamine is the last person he would be trying to catch on camera anyway, he turned his attention to The Kid. "Cosplay's when ya dress up as sum fictional character. Ya put on da make-up, grab da right clothes, sum accessories and boom, ya someone else already!"
