Hope, Determination, and Friendship - Magical Girl RP Discussion

I'm sure some of you have probably already figured this out, but....

I tried to make sure this RP would be a success. But sadly, my word holds no value and this one's gone the same way as my previous three: I've just completely lost all interest and motivation for keeping it going. Part of it's just laziness, part of it's just my depression flaring up, and part of it's just simple disappointment over one thing or the other. I'm thinking I'm better off as a player than a GM at this point.

I apologize, but...well, I guess that's just the way things turned out. :/

I did appreciate the effort to make it work, even if it didn't get too far into it.

We had fun. I hope someone creates a similar RP someday.

I dunno how many of the previous players are still watching this thread since the RP "ended," but might as well say it anyway.

If anyone was paying attention to the "Looking for Players" topic, I was thinking about giving this RP another shot at life. I was kind of bummed about how it ended. I had a lot of ideas for it and felt it had potential; it just didn't sit well for me to have it end before the girls even got a chance to fight an enemy.

While I'm going to be making a new signup thread and roleplaying thread for the second attempt, and while some of the plot details are going to get shifted around, the setting as a whole isn't going to change much. As such, I'm just going to reuse this discussion thread for the second attempt.

So if any of the previous players are looking at this...would you be interested in a second go?

Alrighty, signups for Attempt 2.0 are up now.

I'll (re)start the RP when we either get ten signups (including returning characters from attempt 1) or when a week passes; whichever comes first.

Signups seemed to have slowed down a bit, so I'm thinking of restarting this a little earlier than a week. Definitely not tonight, and probably not tomorrow either. Most likely somewhere around Tuesday/Wednesday.

Does anyone have any objections?

• Setting Details:
  • Very similar to reality for the most part. There's some underlying magic to the setting, but apart from the player characters' abilities and eventually their enemies it's not obvious (mostly manifesting in the odd thing science can't explain).
  • All details about the recurring locations can be assumed unchanged.

Since there wasn't many changes to note yet, I decided to just reuse the description from the first attempt. Lazy GM is lazy. Anyway, here's hoping for the best.

The performance I mentioned in my post was indeed meant to refer to Adrianna's show. If you're not okay with that, Moon, I can edit it out.

That's perfectly fine actually. I thought Adrianna's show would be a good way for getting characters to meet up, so that's why I had her mention one in the first place

I think it's a bit early to be asking this since the second attempt's basically just started, but would anyone be up for having a Skype/Discord chat for this RP?

I think having one would do wonders for my motivational issues, yet at the same time it's a little early to tell if it'll last or not (though I'm definitely going to try and make it last, chat or not), and it's rather small.

yeah, i think it'd be a good idea. in my experience rps last a little longer if there's a quicker method of communication than just the forum..

While we're on the subject of the Discord server, I should probably say this: IF YOUR DISCORD USERNAME ISN'T THE SAME AS YOUR TVTROPES HANDLE, LET ME KNOW WHO YOU ARE SOMEHOW. OTHERWISE, I'M NOT GOING TO ADD YOU.

I don't know why, but while skimming through the other sign ups while writing mine I didn't think Heather's Darkman could talk... Or counted as a familiar, lol. Half the reason I came up with Poko is because I figured at least one person should use one!

Still, he amuses me. Partially because half the time I read the name I think of Demon General Darkdeath Evilman =p
