Alexa then looks at Emily after Aquarius. "See? Even Aquarius knows that Magic's the only real explanation for that sword being unopenable.", she says, "Some things just can't be explained with science, sister."
"Never let anyone tell you that something is impossible." - Monty Oum, 1981-2015Emily nods. If the metal is extraterrestrial in nature, it would make more sense.
Turning to her sister, Emily sighs. Placing her hand on her face, she pinches the bridge of her nose. "Science is knowledge or a system of knowledge covering general truths or the operation of general laws especially as obtained and tested through the scientific method." If that is truly the case, is magic not simply science, albeit one not yet understood?
The measure of a man is not his courage, but rather the size of his gun.Aquarius shook his head. " I'm just saying we need to keep an open head about this sword. Jumping to conclusions on the nature of it when we can't even open it is probably a bad idea, especially if it means we make faulty assumptions about how it works."
Aquarius's stomach growled. " Oh yeah, I should probably grab some breakfast. Sorry..."
Mikaela just shrugs and puts Yurlungur back to the side of her chair as she says, "I'm sure we'll get more answers once I get my emblem back. Wherever it may be..."
"You should've come earlier, Aqua," Joanna quips as she scrubs down her cooking utensils. "We had waffles."
Emily stares at the half eaten waffle in her hand. Moving over to the counter, she places it on a plate and grabs a knife. Cutting off the parts she has eaten, she puts down the knife and leaves the plate on the counter.
Exiting the kitchen, she moves across the lobby and opens the front door. Closing it behind her, Emily moves toward the river.
The measure of a man is not his courage, but rather the size of his gun.Nina looked after Emily. "Okay, that was... random."
"Thanks, Asagami." Eisen winks and nods, keeping her Android in her pocket. Knowing that Asagami had cooled down the plate, the technopath received it in both hands without any trouble.
Despite being somewhat full, Eisen still was a Big Eater, so she could have this small portion for breakfast and not feel too full. She turns to Deltora and asks. "Hmm, would you like her to provide you with some?"
...ehehAfter she's done washing, she wipes her hands off on a towel that's been pulled through the cabinet handle and heads off towards the library.
Deltora, who had earlier been distracted with thoughts, blinked, then nodded at Eisen, seemingly a bit unused to social interaction.
The fact that only 140 characters are allowed here is honestly so disappointing to me."Sure, there's plenty enough to go around." Seeing Deltora nod her head, Tamaki simply continued to smile and systematically scooped out a ladle full of fried rice onto a second plate, white porcelain spoon at the side. "Hopefully it'll fit your palate and all.~" With that out of the way, the slight girl picked up her own plate and began to chow down in a manner that while fast, still had impeccable manners- somewhat like a video of etiquette shown in fast forward.
Erika blinks, realizing nobody'd probably visit her in her room, deciding to slither along towards the library, deciding a little book reading might be in her best interest.
"If you have any beefs with Santa, do remember to SETTLE IT IN SMASH!" Quote by EdveedThe technopath girl eat the fried rice as she watches her other friends. This was definitely better than most forms of fried rice she had eaten before. It was great to see that Tamaki was also quite polite, despite her fast eating.
Eisen then looks at Deltora to see her reaction towards the fried rice. (I hope she likes this, it's pretty good!)

...ehehMaking her way up the stairs, she thinks on what she'll have to do this evening. Joanna can't guarantee everyone will be asleep by the time she hopes to complete her mission, but maybe she could push the odds in her favor. But how to do that?
Immediately, she remembers the remnants of a recipe for a tranquilizing agent. ...no, wait, that's won't be— She shakes her head. Yes, let's tranquilize your friends here. Plus, considering how different everyone is, she can't risk killing anyone with too strong a dose or having anyone see her with too weak a dose. She realizes she's in a bit of a pickle here.
She could always wait it out, too, but that was also an option plagued with uncertainty. There were a couple nights where she did pull an all-nighter, so it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to say the others have pulled something similar. Then again, she could just be projecting or something.
...hm. Maybe she could try and give the others a suitable distraction, something to busy themselves with while she slips away and does her business. Though that presented its own problems, she could theoretically pull it off; there was bound to be some traffic between the theatre room (well, that was her first plan; maybe try and find a movie everyone wanted to see) and the kitchen for periodic snacks and drinks, but if she was crafty enough, they wouldn't be able to notice.
Stepping up towards the library, she opens the door and sees Erika inside. "Hello," she calls out to the lamia.
Mikaela then sits up, saying, "Excuse me.", before heading back up to her room.
Erika would be found with a book, nearly closing the book upon her own face. "Wah!" It is clear she did not expect visitors to her. "Can I help you?" She inquires, emitting a hiss or two, possibly stressed by the surprise.
"If you have any beefs with Santa, do remember to SETTLE IT IN SMASH!" Quote by Edveed"Alright, s'yah..." Ada says. She's silent for the space of about two minutes.
"...So, now what?" she wonders aloud.
"Doki Doki Lit. Club" is a happy game where nothing bad happens. seriously tho? not for the faint of heart.Mikaela comes back down with armor and an extra katana.
"I'm going outside to train a little, in case anyone needs me later."
Joanna cocks an eyebrow.
"I'm just here to read, same as you."
With a huff, she starts to scour the shelves for a good book to read. Maybe some light history would do; something like the Punic Wars or the conquest of Alexander.
Erika hesitates for a moment, before nodding. "Ah, right... great minds think alike, I think it is how it went?" She mentioned, before getting back to the book once more.
"If you have any beefs with Santa, do remember to SETTLE IT IN SMASH!" Quote by Edveed"That it did." She said as she plots to find a way to rid her with the others from the first floor for the night. Well, actually, she'd already found out how, but she still hadn't decided on a movie. Furthermore, a movie that she's seen that no one else has, or they'd be interested in a repeat seeing.
...wait a second, why's she thinking on this alone? Why not just ask the others what sort of movie they'd want to see?
Wait, no, that wouldn't work. If she suggested it, then if she wasn't in the theatre room, wouldn't the others notice? She'll have to try and germinate the idea with someone else.
...and Ms. Lamia o'er there would be a good subject for testing this plan. With that, she takes a book off the shelf, the spotlight into medieval philosophy known as Utopia, and sits down in a chair beside Erika.
Mikaela, at this point, is outside the house, close enough to be seen through any nearby windows, but not too close so she won't break anything.
She stands silently, listening to the environmental noises, taking note of the gentle breeze.
"..." Ada looks around. The kitchen seems to have emptied just as fast as it filled up.
"I'm... I'm gonna go to the library. That's where I'll be, if I'm needed."
"Doki Doki Lit. Club" is a happy game where nothing bad happens. seriously tho? not for the faint of heart.Erika turns a page, before curiously looking at Joanna, proceeding to inquire: "What kind of books are you a grand fan of, if you don't mind me asking?" She's aware of Joanna being close to her physically, but she doesn't mind the close proximity.

Two Weeks Later
"No offense, Emily," a certain someone said from behind the one-armed girl, "But what we percieve as cold is more of an endothermic reaction — that is, one where it draws in energy of some sort, usually heat, to stabilize it. It would have to be an element or compound not native to earth to still be drawing in that much energy after two-plus weeks, and as Konk said, she hasn't been able to open it."
Should they turn around to look at him, Emily and the others would see Aquarius in jeans and a dark grey Beacon Academy shirt. The young man had also brushed his bangs to the side, giving the guests a better look at one of his clouded brown eyes.
" Sorry, just kinda nitpicky about stuff like this," he admitted, nervously glancing to the side out of habit. " I had been taking courses on chemistry and physics back before... well, before all this happened."
