[up]

That does sound right.

Anyway, as a man of class and integrity, I cheated to figure out how to get that chest I've been talking about.

Got me the climber's bandana now, which might have been useful earlier, but will likely help with future climbing endeavours.

Can't upgrade it however, because my refusal to go out at night means I completely lack any Keese wings. So yeah, before I do anything else, I think I need to actually try staying up late. I'll start at the great plateau killing some Stalfos, and then head down to West Necula to kill me some Keese like a real man and upgrade that Bandana. I really put it off for too long.

Ugh. I never bothered with the Ancient Set anyway. It's ugly as crud, and I have a Master Sword. I can flatten almost any guardian in seconds. I always just wore the diamond crown and the Ancient boots with my Champ's tunic. It helps knowing exactly how many hits away the Gaurdian is from death anyway.

I am getting so good at fighting Guardian Stalkers, you guys. I sneak up on them as best I can, then when I'm out of cover, I dash straight for them, listening to their powering-up-the-laser noise so that I Stasis them right before they fire, then I chop their legs off one at a time. They don't stand a chance. (I've tried over and over to parry the laser but I'm so bad with timing it that I prefer to just take them head-on.)

I used to be so terrified of them, and now it's like, "You're mine!" I don't even bother putting on fancy armor anymore.

Bought the Dark Link set from Kilton. Why can't we upgrade these things? I'd love to save Hyrule while dressed as my own Evil Twin. (Or Phantom Ganon. Either one.) I want to get a complete set of Royal Guard gear to go with: the black and red motif is perfect.

Wearing it, though... I was wondering how I'd feel once I earned the Wild set, whether I'd like the traditional clothes when I've gotten used to Link's snazzy new outfits. But once I saw him dressed as Dark Link, I got all nostalgic.

And then I took selfies doing goofy poses.

Found a Reddit thread before where the author provided ideas, complete with pictures, for custom outfit getups, mostly for fun.

[up][up] You can also get close, for the record, if you pop them in the eye with a non-Ancient arrow, as that stuns them.

Granted, Stasis+ is a bit easier to aim, not having to hit such a small target with a weapon where you may have to compensate for the shot drooping.

Right. Went out after dark finally. Yeah, not that bad. Made a big deal for nothing I admit. Didn't run into any Keese though, so still nothing much for upgrading the bandana.

Tried to do some stuff in the Rabia plains. Glided across the river to the tower. Got caught by an Floating Ice Wizard dude and some black Bokoblins. There were clobbering me (especially the ice dude, since I got no defence from his attacks) so I reloaded, tried again, decided trying to get to the tower that way wasn't going to cut it, and went in the other direction. Saw a shrine and encountered some black Lizalfos, who are pretty tough (though it might be due to my cheapness with weapons). Got whooped again (though I have four fairies, but I'd like to keep those for other stuff once I get more), so I again reloaded, and after deciding I'm not quite good enough to fight them, opted to just sneak into the shrine, while killing one black Lizalfos via sneak strike and a lot of hitting, Inside that shine where you have to light some torches (and I forgot the damned name despite trying to remember it for when I got here). The puzzle is tripping me up, but I'm going to work on getting it. Since it's simple, having another shrine under my belt means I'm once step closer to another heart.

But yeah, it's a tough road to Zora's domain, but being able to warp a little farther will help a lot.

I think I need to be less frugal with my weapons too. I suspect one of the reasons killing my foes takes so long (in addition to my poor combat skills) is because I'm holding myself back by not using stronger weapons (due to fear of them breaking and losing them, which is a legitimate concern).

Edit: Ok. Shrine is done...I cheated and looked it up. I may just have to accept that I can't do this the usual way. Anyway, got the chests as well, which will be very useful to be honest.

Not only will you get better weapons as you progress, but you'll likely find weapons with modifiers (such as increased attack power, superior durability, etc.), too. The most powerful weapons that you have now won't be worth the effort of picking them up later down the line.

Also, you've encountered what is likely to be an Ice Wizzrobe. They die instantly to any fire-based attacks, and they'll drop an Ice Rod for your troubles. These can be used to freeze your enemies, which grants double damage to your next attack. Handy in a pinch.

[up][up] If you get the stealth set leveled up it gives you movement speed boosts at night, its so good that you will only want to explore at night after that point.

Right now my Stealth is only level 2, but I do admit that the increase in speed sounds useful.

Turns out there are Keese on the great plateau, which means I could have been getting all the wings I've needed this whole time.

Dumb Rob is dumb. This is the price of pointless cowardice kids.

Anyway, I just head into caves to find them right?

I really want to kill this one Black Lizalfos. It has a huge Katana that looks like it would be useful. I suppose I could try sneak striking him, and then hit him with as much shit as possible until he dies?

Black enemies might be a bit above your weight class at the moment, unless you've got a lot of good weapons.

If you want to try, though, opening with a sneak attack would be the best bet, yeah. And definitely try to get them alone.

Well, I did manage to kill once of them on the way to the shrine.

...Is it possible it was actually a Blue Lizalfos. It does seem strange I was able to kill a black one.

The shrine I got to is the Rucco Maag shrine. What kind of Lizalfos are there? I'm probably actually fought a blue one.

Do the different coloured Moblins, Lizalfos and Bokoblins have different sections in the compendium?

I'll do that.

Edit: ...So I forgot to snap waysad

But I did make it to Lanaryu Tower. And I used up a few more of my fire arrows, but I killed the Ice Wizrobe and got my hands on an ice rod.[tup]

...accidentally used it against one of two Blue Bokoblins, which I'm annoyed at, but fortunately, I didn't use it up completely. I plan to put it up in my mantle in Hateno.

Anyway, I'm heading to a shrine right next to the tower, and then I'll walk the path to Zora's domain.

Mwa ha ha ha ha!

Once I get there, if I can get one more heart, I'll do some exploring in other areas and see about getting some Keese wings.

Man, I wish I had some Ancient cores so I could actually do the Stasis upgrade. Or that I had some money so I could get Amiibo and get some that way.sad

Fire Lizalfos are only in Eldin and Ice are only in Hedra. Anywhere else it's a regular liz, no matter the colour.

[up][up] I'd hold onto the Ice Rod, if I were you. As I mentioned, it can be handy in a pinch, and you can get one pretty much any time from an Ice Wizzrobe; it's not exactly rare enough to warrant keeping in your house (at least in my own view). Mantel space is much more limited than you might be expecting.

Specifically, you only get three display slots each for bows, melee weapons, and shields, and you have to pay for all but the first melee weapon display (which gets given as a bonus for buying the house), at 100r per slot IIRC.

Yeah, a "buy all" option would have been better. If nothing else, make use of the merchant buying system where you can select a specific amount of an item or "all". Waiting through the "building stuff" thing eight times is kinda tedious. tongue

[edit] Not to mention a little silly for something that, in RL, would just be "pound a nail into the wall and hang the display on that", the work of maybe a minute. tongue *2

As to the location of Fire and Ice (and Electric) Lizalfos: I killed several Fire Lizalfos in the Gerudo Desert yesterday. The Electric ones are more common there, but they aren't exclusive.

I finished the first stage of the Champions' Ballad. Almost the last thing I used the One-Hit Obliterator on was a couple of Ice Keese because they snuck up on me. That second-to-last shrine, though: I walk in, it says "Major Test of Strength", and I just start laughing because I can one-shot the Scout.

Am not too keen about fighting Thunderblight Ganon using only Urbosa's gear. How come I can't even use her Fury? She had THAT, didn't she?

Not until after you've defeated thunderblight ganon.

Just eat some zap-proof medicine and use magnesis. The Thunderblight fight is the easiest one because all his attacks are either elemental or really easy to block.
